What the fuck was the point of releasing this "NEW" 3DS?
No games except Xenoblade take advantage of the extra hardware and you're just paying more money for stuff you aren't you going to use.

It's like a failed handheld version of the PS4 Pro.

Because Nintendo can get away with it, just like how they can get away with selling 2 of the same games for the same price on the same day.

this

>you need to hack your 3DS to take advantage of the extra hardware in other games

Bravo Nintendo

MH4U has a much better framerate on the N3DS. That's why I got one.

The framerate is the same on Old 3DS, only the load times and 3D effects are better.

Cfw n3ds>cfw o3ds>o3ds>n3ds

Funny how much a glorified Xenoblade Chronicles machine can benefit from cfw

Why should I buy a Switch when the inevitable "NEW" Switch will come out later?

>3DS shits itself when closing out of Smash, is also slower at doing shit
>N3DS doesnt shit itself when closing smash and is much faster

It's no different than the GBA revisions we got

>GBA SP with the shitty TN screen
>GBA SP with the newer screen, light button, etc

>Paying an extra $100 to cut 6 seconds off load times
Dumb as shit

Not only do they do that with Pokémon, they've been exploiting the same system with Yokai Watch in Japan.

>Being poor

Why not just take up a more affordable hobby at this point?

It was great for homebrew and roms.

The real question is why release it in the US in only two shit colors.

It's ok when Nintendo does it.

Seriously. What was the point of releasing that thing if you're just going to release a brand new handheld 2 years later.

It sounds retarded in context, but you have to consider that your old 3DS could wear out, my old XLs stick completely broke after 5 years and there was no fucking way I could fix it. The inner stick that holds the circle pad itself split in half.

>Implying Nintendo could fix it
>Having to ship it only to get no result

A relative of mine had problems with her old 3DS as well and despite sending it in for repair two or three times, they never fixed it.

The same reason as everything else.

Money

>No games except Xenoblade take advantage of the extra hardware
Except anything with camera controls.

>you're just paying more money for stuff you aren't you going to use.
Face-tracking 3D is pretty freaking awesome, user. The actual point was address those two real issues that people had with the original version; the XL version was only released because people would want the option, but the regular version is also completely personable.

>PSP has at least three revisions
>1000, 2000, and 3000
>Somehow ok

>Nintendo revised their handhelds numerous times
>GB, Play it Loud GB
>GBP, GBP with the backlight
>GBA SP, GBA SP as mentioned in
>DS, DSLite, DSi
>3DS, N3DS
>Somehow not ok

No one was saying that, but I generally don't have a problem with it. It's not like the consumer can't just buy an older version.

This seems like the best situation to me. It means there is no reason to buy one, so I save money without feeling like I am missing out.

cos there isn't one

PSP revisions were okay because they brought some actual benefits to consumers like better battery life, more RAM for games, and better screen quality.

3DS screen quality actually downgraded as more of them are using TN instead of IPS, also the extra RAM in New 3DS are only taken advantage in a select handful of games instead of the whole library like PSP.

>you need to hack your 3DS to take advantage of the extra hardware in other games

How much of an improvement is there?

There are loads of 3DS games that run faster on New 3DS, though. I noticed a big difference when I got one. And the battery life is also better on New 3DS. Screen Quality might not be the best, but the face-tracking 3D is a big improvement, as well.

Which games?

Nintendo said there'd be exclusive games for the new 3ds and we got...one....unless they were referring to snes games...haha.

Less than 6 3DS games actually take advantage of the improved hardware. Mainly Xenoblade, Super Smash, and MH4U are the ones of note that use the features outside of "better loading/3D".

Pokémon sun/moon still lags on New 3DS and the 3D effects are still disabled during battles.

>only the load times and 3D effects are better.

Why do you tell lies on the internet?

Its also required if you want to play pokemon at something higher than 5 frames per second. Plus it gives a nice little performance / graphical boost to Monster hunter.

Pokémon doesn't run any better outside of better load times. Game still lags and looks like shit with no 3D.

There's also Hyrule Warriors Legends that runs at a better framerate and with increased enemy count on the n3ds.

>PSP from 2004 has a 480x262 screen
>New 3DS from 2015 has a 400x240 top screen

What the fuck Nintendo

It's literally okay when Nintendo does it.

Not have retardedly long download times and so CFW owners can force old games to use full power

Also, pretty much every Nintendo game since its release does take advantage of the extra power, but most of them only have brief framerate stutters on O3DS anyways and other than fixing those stutters it does nothing, Hyrule Warriors Legends and Pokemon SM are the only games from them that notably run any better and Pokemon still runs like complete shit, just not quite as shit with the overworld stutters fixed and battle drops very slightly alleviated

The 3D actally works and it's the only 3DS that feels like a console and not a children's toy.

>And the battery life is also better on New 3DS
Source?
It's the same size battery.
Which games run faster? There are no reports of most games running better minus a handful.

I'm upset Nintendo fanboys are so retarded they make up positive facts about the companies consoles.

And look what happened, the 3DS is cheap to develop for so it shat on the Vita. Sonyggers btfo once again.

What's so incredibly upsetting about this is that all it would takes is a little bit of support from the devs and N3DS would be running every 3DS game with more stability and higher framerates.

WHY DON'T THEY PATCH STUFF OR RELEASE IT WITH THE N3DS SHIT ENABLED?!
