Aerip

Alice

I always go with a compromise: Aerish

It's Cidney.

It's Aerith in Crisis Core

Aeritto

Aerith. The fact that the majority of this aspie cesspit thinks its Aeris is all the proof you need that its actually Aerith.

Aerith.

Cloudo

Dead.

All the more reason to call her Aeris.
They didn't change it in the PC re-releases.

Aspies are the ones who call her "Aerith," so they can lecture people who've been calling her Aeris since 1997 about muh correct Nihongo translation.

Aerith is a stupid fucking name. Aeris sounds like the kind of girl you'd bring home to your parents in a bodybag

They guyths I thwaths juthst plthlaything thinal thantathy thethen and I thaw Aerith die, ththat thene made me criy.

>Cloud
>Biggs
>Wedge
>Cait Sith
>Tifa

>These are acceptable names to you

Aerith. They've consistently called her that since the original game, despite continuing to change other characters' names to their localized versions (i.e. Tina -> Terra) consistently.

Bullet

They are

the same logic applies to Aerith as "Bullet" for Barret yet for some reason weebs only ever lose their marbles over Aeris

Corpse

>Aerithfags
Say Aerith out loud and listen to yourself.

Her name was apparently supposed to sound like 'earth', hence the 'th at the end.
Japanese were always horrible at trying to sneak those 2deep4u messages in their Engrish.

...

"Cloud" and "Earth"

get it

under

It's whatever gets you the most replies.

desu the first place I saw her was Chain of Memories, so it's always been "Aerith" to me

aerith
if you defend literally the same name but transliterated wrong as being better, you have really low standards and just cling to the first thing you see

>the same logic applies to Aerith as "Bullet" for Barret yet for some reason weebs only ever lose their marbles over Aeris

that one doesn't work, since the first syllable of バレット would have to be ブ in nip instead of バ
unless you meant his name would be "Ballet" (pronounced bah-let)

mind you, fuck Aerith as a name -- even if Aeris actually was wrong, it sounds a fuckton less retarded than Aerith, and you'll never hear a fucking nip person say the th sound properly anyway -- to a Japanese, the name is pronounced closer to Aeris

How is it that people still don't realize that aeris and aerith are two completely different people? lrn2lore

Slum Drunk

Yeah I loth Aerith sheth like tho pretty.

Fuck off retard

>Airearth

Also picture is in accurate. The Masamune doesn't draw blood.

Aeris in America.
Aerith in the rest of the world.

It's both. Just like the japanese gave us Cindy instead of Cidney. It's both.

If the correct translation is meant to be representative of how it was originally a transliteration of Earth into Japanese, then wouldn't the "accurate" translation of her name just be Earth, not Aerith? The creation of her name was just that, how they created it, they got inspiration from the word but then moved on.

cait sith is the dumbest fucking name ever

>there is no character for a 'th' sound in japanese
Gee I wonder which it is

Actually it was Aeris in the UK too.

it's actually pronounced "Kay shee"

It's obviously Aerith. In newer FF7 media, in Kingdom Hearts, they have gone out of their way to correct it. Trusting 90s translation is a mistake.
