Thats how my buddy is. He's always competitive and so far above my skill level that any game we play gets taken too seriously and we both get frustrated.
He never wants to play casual games because "there's no skill required". I just want to relax for a couple hours not go full autist tryhard :/

Fighting games require you to be on point at all times at competent level because of how hard you can get fucked over one mistake. Hell its arguable a large portion of fighting games is just not making mistakes more then making good decisions even though it still does require a great bit of the later.
I find it satisfying. If it wasn't like that then the games would just be random if anything. The more variables you have to concentrate on means you have more things to use on your opponent as well. Versus less things either person can do to be better then the other person equals less consistent ways to be the better play and get better.

Oh OP you have no idea what a game like that really feels like. Hell OW is one of the easiest competitive games you can play. Playing your role is largely limited outside of Ana/some DPSs so you only have to do specific things right and alot of situations can just be your tank/healer being a shitter.
Try playing a 1 v 1 competitive game where its all on you and you have to deal with every variable at once. If you think a game like OW where its possible to win a game well performing like shit on occasion yourself is like that then you're a idiot.

Not really. As long as a good amount of variables exist the better play almost always wins in fighting games minus a few hard read lucky ass scenarios. SFV is probably the first fighter in awhile that feels somewhat random when its comes to competent level matches.
OW though is different. Its very shallow and ults are a retarded concept for a shooter especially since almost all of them are batshit insane good.
OW is such a easy game that once two teams are competent it feels like a game based on ult pushes and hoping you stop the attacking teams or vs versa instead of the shooting itself.
