Give me just one reason why the Switch OS shouldn't be a town or a city
wanting to access to options faster is not a good reason

It would slow down navigation. Why would you want to spend 45 seconds in a low res virtual town when you could just select a tile, or option from a list?
Because that's retarded.
Because its honestly a dumb idea. It takes up way too much time.
Longer console boot times, kills your battery life faster because it has to render a 3D scene instead of a 2D GUI, makes your system heat up more which means more fan noise, I could go on and on how dumb the idea is.
because I like pseudo open world games ala Phantasy Star with cute lolis around
>the Wii U and DS OS' are shit and can't multitaski at all
>wanting to slow down the process even more
No thanks
It doesn't have the horsepower to do so but what if it's like a Mario level and you jump into the game u want to Play
>the exact reason is not a reason
I actually like these ideas.
Splatoon does this well, the city gives the illusion that it's alive with every changing user generated content, but you can skip it by mashing the menus with your thumb.
Wii U already tried to make this happen by shoving it into the home menu but they never did anything interesting with it.
So go play those games. They have no business being tied to the consoles meager size NAND chip.
It worked for Splatoon because you could just press buttons on the gamepad without even having to pause the game, to instantly enter whatever place/menu you wanted.
But since the Switch won't have two screens, it would be a mistake.
oh come on!
it would be a neat freegame!
If I want to scroll text I'd buy a book
Always have to be connected to the internet otherwise you're losing half of the features and they soak up hardware power and battery life for no reason.
I want to be able to turn on the console and have the game start right away like the gamecube and every console before that. Navigation menus on start up is the worst thing they added to consoles and I want it to stop.
>wanting to access to options faster is not a good reason
That's actually a more than valid reason, retard
>wanting the thing that every nintendo OS fails to do is a bad reason
I think Sony nailed the XMB right for PS3 and PSP. You can have it boot directly to your game on startup or have it go into a menu instead.
Is Splatoon still alive? I stopped playing a few months ago after being on and off, mostly on, since launch. I don't want it to be dead when I eventually go back to it. It's the only online shooter I played since CS Source back in the mid 2000s.
For starters the OS would have to be primarily installed to the hard drive rather than the NAND/NOR unless they want the device to be overpriced. Which means that you're losing hard drive space and time over a feature some people will never use. Not to mention that system updates would mean that they have to keep adding onto this shit so it's only going to get more bloated and take longer to boot up overtime. It's going to end up being like PSO2 where the game only needed 4GB at first now you need over 32GB.
Because it's retarded and it would take too much time to do even the most basic functions? Also, I hope Nintendo finally drops the childish GUIs and just copies Android instead of making cringeworthy shit like the Plaza thing on the Wii U.
In population, yes. In development, all the work is going to the Switch port.
I don't want my Switch to catch on fire as the Nvidia chip tries to render everything at 60FPS on bootup.
>port
You mean sequel.
Nope, it's gotta be ready in time for march.
It's a port.
The sequel comes later, and it will be just as disappointing.
They have this beautiful aesthetic and all this potential and they barely did anything with it.
>it's gotta be ready in time for march
And?
you guys don't know what fun means
I'd like to have my personal Switch room with my amiibo statues, my virtual game posters. It would be cool to invite my friends to visit my virtual apartment
you guys have no fantasy
