I think the problem with the GT series right now, is that they release the games too late.

I enjoyed GT5 but even installed onto the hdd, you'd do a 3 lap race and then have to wait 5 fucking minutes of load time to "retry" the same track you just did, they did release another version or something that fixed the load times I heard.

I think they'd benefit by not doing all this "mid edition" stuff with different names thats like, half the game...just focus on getting the main game done, working fine, and released, and if it looks like the game is going to release finally at the end of the consoles life...wait, skip it, and get it working for the NEXT console instead and have it out as a near release title.

There hasen't been a good GT in 15 years.

There's still assets from GT4 in GT6, and they try to hide it by disabling the camera zoom past a certain level.

Inbsane load times.

Finish race, hit retry.

This gave you enough time to go take a piss, mow the lawn, quickly wash those piled up dishes, pop out to the local shop, come home...and then the race loads.

Thats with it installed on the hdd to improve the load times, apart from that I enjoyed 5.

Think "Academy" fixed that issue, but standard GT5 was terrible in the load department.

So the only difference were the loading times?
I thought GT5 was pretty revolutionary for what could be done with racing games in terms of realism etc.

In the time that PD took to release GT5, forza released 4 games, caught up, and then blew them the fuck out of the water.

Last GT I played before 5, was GT3, I never got a chance to play 4 so either way, for me GT5 was a pretty big leap in the realism and it was a good game but the load times really dragged the game down, they are pretty bad.

I never got to play GT6, and don't know too much about this GT Sport, is "Sport" GT7? or is it something thats coming before a proper GT7 ?

We don't know. They recently increased the scope for the project.

I loved the series, but GT5 was so fucking boring goddamn. The soundtrack was generic muzak too. It was far too dry, previous games felt fairly arcadey and cheesy, for "sims". GT5 was just slow hairdryer boxes.
Also that premium car debacle, with badly ported GT4 car models making up the vast majority of options.
