"Hard" parts of games that aren't actually hard
not even with a keyboard
>NUMI or Q button
The fuck is NUMI
number 1 on the numpad you doofus
That's NUM1, not NUMI.
then Vice City uses a stupid font where 1 doesn't have the serif
It clearly does though, indicated by the time and the HP.
...
Same game but the mission where you have to shoot down the RC planes.
It took me like 30 tries a few years ago, I did it today in the first try, piece of piss.
How would anyone have any trouble with that? You get a fucking minigun
in vc i use the helicopter to beat the motorcycle skyscraper mission.
that's a completely different font
Just had to drive onto a roof and onto the car
Its so obvious at the tracks
are you mentally handicapped?
The box on the left has a different serif than the rest of the UI
I saw some normies complain it was hard today on shitbook.
Trick is to let go of the fire button between shooting.
...
Shit's easy as fuck. I dunno how people had trouble with this minigame.
fucking seriously
Water temple
The water slums part of Jak 2 is easy as fuck, in fact the entire game is easy as fuck. Beat it as a kid even with no problems.
Far Cry 1 where you get to the Tri Gens. Not hard at all.
Seriously if you complain about either of these games you are a casual faggot.
the gargolkeks and the capra demon are the easiest "bosses" in the game
gargoyles at least force you to learn to handle multiple enemies at once
Capra is just shield once
How?
it was hard with a controller on ps2
>shield once
>get eaten by doggos
?
The timing on when to shoot the cannon to switch tracks was a bit odd, but besides that it is easy.
it's easy even without getting ontop.
I drunkenly stumbled in to his boss room and proceed to kick his ass on the first try. I don't understand why people claim he's tough. And by drunkenly I mean I was actually drunk.
dodge dogs because bleed damage, block capra, strafe back, kill 1 dog, block capra, kill remaining dogs, block capra/roll.
or you can just past them all and just spam drop attack from the top of the stairs
the fight only seems hard because they all come at you at once.
>GTA SA's train mission
>OoT's Water Temple
>Whitney
I don't think that anyone has ever complained about the Treehouse level. But overall you have to admit that Far Cry can be incredibly hard at times during the later parts of the game. I can't imagine the patience it would take to beat it at the hardest difficulty.
water temple was only hard because finding that one key under the elevator was total bullshit
One try
I know right, beat him on my second try. But then again, i mistakenly didn't discover his existence until very later in the game, if i remember right i even already beat Fat Albert and Dumb Donald back in Anor Londo by then
So when i started NG+ i specifically tried to make him one of my first bosses to compensate, but i beat him on my first try
Well the last 2 levels were pretty fucking hard I admit, but also some of the most exiting mad dash moments I've ever had in video games. But before that I wouldn't call it hard.
Christ now I want to go back and replay Far Cry 1. I thought the game was pretty meh early one, I actually started it and dropped it like 3-4 times before I eventually forced myself to go on and then suddenly the Trigens happened and the game went from meh to fucking amazing.
>that fucking war between mercs and trigens in all the mid to later levels
So fucking good.
I couldn't believe it when I went online to talk about the game and discovered casual fucks didn't like the trigens and wanted boring merc enemies the entire game.
Are there are good mods out for FC1? Like to increase the LOD distance and stuff?
>Overleveled the first time
>Have full build for second time
Gee I wonder why you found him easy
What can i say
It seems like almost every thread about the Last of Us someone starts complaining about the Hotel Basement level, which isn't hard at all. The winter level with David and the hospital level at the end are far more difficult.
I literally dropped this game because of this part. I never did that to a game before and i remember being so pissed over the fact a minigame was getting in the way of my story murdering.
INT and DEX fags deserved every death at the hands of Capra. STR always baby.
The problem with this guy is that damn Dragon and the awfull camera.
>roll past dogs as you go through fog
>smash his boipussy with your megadick sword
>spin around like a madcunt and cleave the dogs
hard boss
>I literally dropped this game because of this part. I never did that to a game before and i remember being so pissed over the fact a minigame was getting in the way of my story murdering.
It's optional
Really? Oh well, it's not like i missed out on something good.
>Literally the whole game is "play cautiously or get ass rammed by ambushes"
>Blocking when entering capra's room is almost instant death
"Why do people die to this?"
>>Blocking when entering capra's room is almost instant death
I fought him at SL1 and putting up my shield as I went through the door negated everything. You're just shit
>thinks the trigens were a good addition to the game
My nigga
Also, I don't remember all the levels very well but for me the hardest part in the game was that helicopter boss fight. I've never had my shit pushed in this much by a boss before.
By the way, there was some sort of remaster/redux mod which improved the graphics a lot without changing the gameplay but the creator got bored after making the first few levels and demanded donations to keep going(nobody cared of course).
I guess you could find a list with custom cfg settings somewhere to increase the LOD and other CryEngine eye candy though.
is that you DSP?
I heard that the first version, the launch one for the ps2 had the train going so fast it was impossible which resulted in this "follow the trainn cijei xD" meme
The train isn't "hard."
It's just that Smoke is fucking incompetent and can fail even if you play the way you're supposed to.
The only surefire method is ramping onto the train and killing the vagos yourself, and that's going above & beyond.
Me and my housemates are playing through SA at the moment and none of us can beat the fucker.
With a KB+M? Nah. With a controller? That shit made me rage like no other. is a bit easier, but equally frustrating utilizing either input method. And holy shit, fuck the default control setup for planes on KB+M and te guy who thought that was okay
It made you rage *with* a controller?
So can LOD and draw distance be increased in just CFG settings? Also that is a shame about the mod.
FC1 looks so beautiful in modern res's but it's hard not to notice everything turning into a blur at a distance. And since a lot of parts of the game have great vista's they are kinda hurt by this.
I never understood the memes about the train in SA. The first time I failed because I stuck right next to the train and Big Smoke was shooting the side of the cart when aiming at the gangsters. On my second try I made sure to stay a couple of meters away so that he could get a clear shot on them and I finished the mission easily by simply not crashing. I didn't even use the ramps.
I've only played vanilla Far Cry but I know for a fact that those things can be increased through cfg commands in CryEngine 2(Crysis) so I guess that CryEngine is the same. Check moddb and tweakguides and see if you can find anything interesting.
If you end up replaying the game and you have an nVidia card you can also use DSR. 4k downscaled to 1080p looks great, especially in games with vegetation. Today's cards shouldn't have any problems rendering a 2004 game in 4k res. Make sure you turn off AA if you do that though.
I have a 660 ti. I don't think it's powerful enough to do downsampling unfortunately. I will keep it in mind since I am thinking of upgrading soon.

>this town ain't big enough for 2 sheriffs
