PETITION: NINTENDO, ALLOW SONY TO HELP WITH THE SWITCH

Let's face the facts. Nintendo is not exactly known for their horsepower. The last time a Nintendo console broke new ground in power scale was the N64. Since then Sony has been considered the top dog in power terms. Look at the PS2. We still can't emulate it outside of Sony consoles!

However, the Nintendo Switch is an anomaly. The ability for a game to be look as good as Breath of the Wild, push the envelope in the openworld genre when it comes to dimension, and pioneer new innovations in GPU-physics, and other rasterization-heavy items like foliage, procedural burning, and wind effects is unprecedented outside of the like of Uncharted. And for all this power to fit into the palm of your hand, defies everything we know about Moore's Law. We want that technical savviness on our side, and that's why we know that working together with Sony is the best route for all of us. You've heard the saying "When in Rome do as the Romans do." Well what if Rome was on your side this time?

We want to see Sony and Nintendo continue to compete for our children's and their children's generations. That's why I believe that a kurultai is in order. Come together with Sony and discuss the prospect of a joint venture for the next generation.

Any problem with it is due to the weird and badly documented architecture. PS3 emulation is coming along nicely, too. On the currect rithm RPCS3 should be at least as good as PCSX2 in 2 or so years.
PS4 has a stupid architecture too, so it will take a bit to emulate. Also, PSP emulation is pretty much a solved problem.

The Switch has no power problems.

It is the successor to the Handheld line of hardware, but it also just so happens to double as a TV console.

People need to get this through their head: PS4 is designed to use well over 160 Watts of power. Switch will be designed to use 30 Watts and under (WiiU was also 30 Watts LOAD) for the sake of battery life etc etc.

Expecting a fucking handheld to compete with a current gen console with a massive power adapter built in attached to a permanent wall socket is FUCKING. RETARDED.

This is LITERALLY the new game boy, but it also serves as a replacement for WiiU because of the power leap, that does not make it WiiU's direct successor.

This will have HD monster hunter and pokemon with dual analoi controls, and more.

OP, Sony isn't the one that controls power.

AMD provides the hardware of the PS4 and Xbox One and their gen-and-a-half upgrades. AMD doesn't provide SoCs on par with their Ryzen tech that can go into a mobile device, so that was the main reason Nintendo dropped them. ARM is still developing tech and is a far cry from x86 but it's GETTING to laptop level in due time (which kind of is where PS4 and X1's base systems were at to begin with). However that's only assuming Nintendo has access to Cortex A73s, which I doubt.

Another thing, the reason why Nintendo's doing this in the first place is because the current generation of gamers either spends a lot of time away from home or time to game is best spent during downtime. Not to mention not a lot of people have HDTVs , so the portable aspect might make things more approachable.

Finally, how does a PS4 port of Breath of the Wild help the Switch? It seems like the money for that shit would go to Sony.

Not to mention, many screenspace effects like SSAO and reflections don't get the resolution bump on the PRO, only the main resolution output buffer, the other effects are still 1080p counter part in resolution
