Pokken isn't supported by Nintendo anymore tough so tournaments have been smaller

Speaking as a travelling KoF player it's because the game is bad and completely non functional on a competitive level for many reasons

The entire metagame is basically far poke into quickmax, hitboxes and crossup detection are FUCKED, and the game is just generally extremely shallow. Most 13 comp players were really excited for 14 - but 14 is just bad. It's a real shame but that's how it is. 13 should have been at evo last year, it had more of a community than many games there, but 14 should not.

I honestly think it's bad luck. Game got released in the middle of the off-season. The real thermometer is the first months of the year, when everyone picks games for their lineup.

Basically yeah, it's pretty non functional to the point where most established KoF players are just like 'nah, no thanks'

I expect they will probably fix some issues for the arcade version and likely for 15 in general if it comes around. That said 14's hitbox issues are tied to the fact that they stupidly tied hitboxes to models which creates a lot of stupid shit where characters can suddenly not be counted as in the corner despite not moving or characters suddenly snapping to the other side etc.

I don't really see them completely revamping how the game does hitboxes for an arcade port/update and that is the 'big' issue for competitive outside of how oppressive quick max is.

I think the NRS community deserves representation at EVO, and I prefer MK over Injustice by a mile.

Also while I personally don't play KI anymore, the developer support for it is so big that I can't help but want them to do well.

If we actually have an extra day (people have been saying that there will be one, but I can't find a source), then 10 games could easily be done. If 9 games can be done in 3 days, then 10 games can be done in 4.
