>whole point of this awesome game is slapping together a messy as fuck factory that just barely manages to do what you want then working out the kinks and slowly refining it, tearing down sections and rebuilding it so it gets more and more efficient, learning how stuff works and figuring out how to make it better over time and according to your changing needs while fending off the alien attacks desperately
>a friend of mine who I play with starts playing with one of his friends
>I check out their factory and his friend has literally "found the best designs from the forums" and they've turned off alien attacks
>it's just fully automated everything in perfect order, placed piece by piece according to an exact design made by someone else
>no aliens to worry about
>literally just sitting there watching numbers go up so they can place the next piece in the pre-determined plan made by someone else to "win"
>leave game 5 minutes later, say I'm going to the shops, never return
what the fuck just happened?
When friends take the fun out of games
have gamers forgotten about "journey, not the destination"?
the internet and smartphone era has destroyed video gaming at large
everything has to be done as quickly and efficiently as possible nowadays, people don't like "wasting" time when they're playing games paradoxically
Sound like a faggot.
No, you're just a fucking normie who shouldnt be allowed to play factorio.
This game isnt about you having fun with your babby toys. Its about building an efficient working factory.
Honestly, youre angry because you didnt think of your friend's amazing setups.
I cant believe anyone would be against main bus scheme too.
Retard.
>youre angry because you didnt think of your friend's amazing setups.
His friend didn't think of them either, retard.
I gave it a try, but dropped it. Because honestly it made me feel dumb. I got to the 3rd? level where you have to rebuild a base that was totally leveled, and the requirements to finish the level seemed astoundingly high. I was competent enough to get things running smoothly, but it seemed so ugly and inefficient I called it quits.
Would like to get into that game but the interface is so unintuitive I always quit before doing anything.
autism
everybody's factories are gonna be inefficient at first, you should try freeplay on low alien frequency
you'll get the hang of it
Granted I played a pretty early ver. so it might have gotten a little more ergonomic.
Monster Hunter
>Help me hunt for the materials I need
>But not yours
>Playing Monster Hunter Frontier with friends
>New monster comes out
>New challenges, new things to react to, new choices, and so many things to play around with and experience
>Friends instantly start bitching about how the new monster doesn't give the best gear in the game and how it's useless to fight it
>Turns out they already looked up the max upgraded weapons from data miners
>Already punched everything into calculators
>Even when most of the gear is just fine regardless and doesn't need to be super ultra top tier
And the kicker is after all this bitching we go do a hunt and they are the ones who die first and fastest.
Get a new friend.
they are pumping out updates constantly, if you haven't played in a while it's probably pretty different from when you last played
I'm trying.
Imagine if MH had damage meters
A team DPS metric might be interesting, but the absence of one is definitely for the better.
There already is a team DPS metric. Time to kill.
But rating every individual player would be death, especially for online with randoms.
Welcome to video games in the modern era, where every game has been "solved" thanks to wikis and guides
>Individual
That's what I was supposed to say. It would definitely kill a lot of the vagueness
Hello new friend. Hello all friends. All one of you. I love you. You're special. You're wonderful. You are the one. You are the only. You are my friend. My new friend. I love you again my new friend.
>get stuck on game for less than 5 minutes
>look it up
>feel a deep sense of shame
>Pff, you are like a little baby, watch this !
I N E F F I C I E N C Y
But seriously it is way more fun to just go blind and find cool setups oyurself instead of just copy pasting the things on reddit
is that you adam?
you didn't build it though you looked it up and copy pasted it
...
Fuck you. I made all my designs myself.
Im removing you, you piece of shit.
too much detail, I don't have adam added, he's will's friend
you almost had me when you mentioned main bus
This reminds me of people who play modded servers on Rust. Where you gather materials at 100 times the normal rate and can teleport to each other, get "start kits" of weapons and shit. I understand if you play these servers and then just spend your time having goodfights and banter and shit, but the people I know who play all still spend 4 hours making bases but the bases are 10 times bigger. But what's the point? You have every item in the game, you've built a base but it's meaningless because you essentially cheated to make it
Will you people please stop this shit?
Factorio isn't hard. It's not a casual filter. Posters like you fucks lead people like me into thinking they're getting themselves into some really sick logistic puzzle game that'll keep their autism sated for weeks to come.
I finally got the game this sale, and I've never been more disappointed in my life. It's piss easy throughout.
Did you get the trains up and running?
There is an iron mining plant to the northwest and a copper mining plant to the southeast. Those give you fucktons of materials which let you build all the shit you need quickly.
Should still play with biters on.
And Furry's mod, with Angel's Ores.
Also building defenses is fun.
Mod in extra layers of challenge then.
>have a buddy who bought an ARK server so we could single player without the tether and have our own xp/tame rates.
>he sets taming/gathering/xpgain to 15x
>tell him im taking a break and never play with him again
you both are asshole people
I don't see the problem with that. I don't want to sit there for 5 hours crafting narcotics to get enough xp to be able to build an elevator while waiting for a T Rex to be tamed.
>two friends come over
>female friends brings her ps4 so she can play ff15
>idc I'm down to watch but don't really care to play.
>male friend keeps talking about how gay they look and making dumb voices
>funny at first
>keeps making the same 4 jokes over and over every time she plays the game.
>proceeds to do this every day, every time she plays the game.
>But seriously it is way more fun to just go blind and find cool setups oyurself
Fucking this.
I've been using a main bus a lot since it's a genuinely good design, but I never go overboard like some faggots do with 12 lane buses or something.
Best feeling I get from Factorio is when you've advanced enough that you tear down old facilities and build shit up from new. That feeling of accomplishment you get is just sublime.
>Factorio
>logistics puzzle game
Eh, what?
