No, there are a couple moments when you get surprised at an enemy jumping out from behind something though. Not scared, just excited.

It just has a great enviorment.

its a horror themed action game. so the gameplay itself isn't designed to scare you, though the world and creature design is very creepy.

I forgot to mention the sound design. if anything in this game is gonna get under your skin, its that. its Dead Space 1 level. Some of those noises made by enemies are outright horrifying.

don't bother. any thread bringing up Bloodborne as a piece of horror fiction gets flooded with tough guys calling everyone pussies, and people only familiar with Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and modern mainstream's (Paranormal Activity, Saw) brand of horror claiming there's nothing horror about the game.

It's creepier thank the Souls games, and there's some gruesome designs and body horror surrounding the whole eyes on the inside thing, plus everyone going insane.

But not really scary to play ever, just tense at times.
