Never hopefully. Still the only good MMO.
And its not even an MMO
Maybe that's why he's good
Ok, you win, I reinstall it.
Why do ritualists have the best aesthetic design?
Why can't any mmo match Guild Wars' minion mastery besides shit like PoE and Diablo?
Why did it have to end like this...
These are questions I ask myself every day
>Why did it have to end like this...
Well, Guild Wars 2 was a massive financial success
So put your hopes into third game!
power of instancing, all GW2 needed was to make a drop in drop out mission based scenario sections.
Anyone who wants to group remember that NA district is the place to go.
>mfw you need to group with someone to get resurrection sigil early on and to open the gate
I wonder if people would freak out over that nowadays.
I'm still upset that there nothing to do in the pre burned Ascalon without party
No one plays it anyway
Third game that will try to mimic GW2's success, further drifting from what made GW1 so great, alienating even more the first opus fanbase to attract the GW2's one
Pretty much
Well, you can play dragon's dogma online for now
It's hub based like original GW, with limited number of skills you can take with you too!
Not atmospheric like gw sadly
Isn't that game JP only?
I miss dual classes. Why wasn't that brought into GW2. That could have made such an impact on the variety and fun of characters, rather than so aggressive meta builds that are the only effective things.
Someday.
Also, it's time.
youtube.com
Well, its "semi implemented" with the specialization. At the moment there is only 1 spec for each class but hopefully more will come with future updates/expansions
>Why wasn't that brought into GW2
Because it's too much work to balance
That's not what dual-classing means
Fuck, gets me close to tears 2bhwy, lots of emotional connection from all the time I spent
youtube.com
I remember my first battle with my doppelganger, I had no idea how to beat it
I remember how cool doppleganger used to be.
Now I just equip nothing but Empathy and let him kill himself.
Hence why I said "semi". I mean its still e.g. a warrior but with new skills named berserker. With more specs there will be some build variations. Sure its not multiclass but its.. multi...shit
how many people even play this these days
>semi
Not at all
Characters also had different spec in GW1, adding another spec is in no way comparable to having access to dual-class specs
Literally nobody
I don't think I've even seen bots there
I thought I could play it again, but seeing all these places that used to be brimming with life empty drives my mood so down I can't get myself to go further in the game
why did they combine the limited level design with the atrocious movement system (no verticality)? The game is really good otherwise.
Is this game ever on sale anywhere? I don't really feel like paying over £20 for a game that's over ten years old.
It's a really old game, and they went with no jumping I guess to simplify the maps.
And think about this look up one of the GvG tournaments for GW1 and realize in 2007-9 it had better e-sports features than most modern games.
There was no Z-axis to cut costs on bandwidth. The servers run on black magic and basically generate electricity at this point.
did all the xpacks for this go f2p yet? i haven't played in years
why did gw2 fuck with this perfect system
They were trying to look for a broader audience I guess. Such a shame.
I would say never because it costs pretty much nothing to run, but it is NCSoft so I am surprised it has lasted this long without it being killed and never seen again with a squad of lawyers waiting to destroy private servers.
There were a couple of people around when I played it around a year or two ago.
Had this one cool guy help me clear the co-op only section of pre-searing
fuck I should really play this again I never actually finished Prophecies now that I think about it
this right here.
It's never been on sale even when gw2 released the price didn't drop.
>fuck I should really play this again I never actually finished Prophecies now that I think about it
You really should
I bought factions yesterday and have fun even solo
Even on steam?
Thinking of starting from scratch with a new char and go through all the expansions at a relaxing phase and just soak in all the nostalgia and listen to the god tier soundtrack. I never cared about the story and just pretty much skipped all the cutscenes even though I've easily played over 1k hours, so there's even something new to experience.
My only problem are the pentium 4 servers and it seems they're just lowering the clock speed every year to make the 30 players that are left quit the game and that might just make me stop playing
>syncronyzed full party build crafting
Discordway ruined everything.
If any of you are jumping back into the game and are dirt poor I'm pretty sure I've still got a gold capped account.
Just logged in on another 10 year old char. Should I get a 7 year gift?
I went on last week and opened all my 7 year gifts.
Doppleganger was always that stupid.
Got anything good?
Well here goes... Weren't Oni or Shiro the best ones? Yeah, like I would get anything but shit
top fucking kek
Also, I have a lot of shit on multiple chars if anyone needs mods and stuff.
this will be opinion based but why did the amazing world/lore and art direction have to be wasted on gw2.
Although i think the art and lore is still doing great and just the development is its downfall
No shit, but people didnt know how to abuse him right away
dragon swiftblade. I'm downloading right now though. I'm pretty sure I gave away all my shit when gw2 released
This
That "wiki culture" wasn't that much of a thing yet
Shiro's sword and daggers were vampiric. It continuosly drained hp, your and the enemy's.
Little stupid question but when I will get signet that allows me to take skills from monsters I killed in factions?
I remember in Prophecies and Nightfall it was pretty fast, but I'm 15lvl already in factions
He meant the miniatures.
>$20 for eye of the north
Maybe you should join a very high population server there's like 10...i play it regularly she there's still tons of people. Especially in the starting areas.
Factions is the fastest leveling. You'll hit 20 on the island very quickly and then can get the capture signet on the mainland in Kaineng.
Prophecies you don't get it until Lion's Arch which and still don't have extra attributes unlocked until after you ascend, and Nightfall has that shitty part where you have to grind out your sunspear rank to advance.
Just make sure you do the attribute point sidequests on the island.
You get the quest in Kaineng City. Being level 15 doesn't mean much because Factions doesn't have anything close to decent level pacing. The moment you step off Shing Jea everything is level 20. You don't get the signet of capture in Prophecies until you reach Lion's Arch which is far later in the game in comparison, but Factions is the shortest and Prophecies the longest by far.
hahaah I never changed my password, my account is dead now
>Well, Guild Wars 2 was a massive financial success
Nope! Why do you think Assnet is shitting out so much glider skins etc. right now? They are desperate and need cash. They only ones sustaining Anet are the loyal autistic sjw Guild Wars 2 fanboys.
>and Nightfall has that shitty part where you have to grind out your sunspear rank to advance
Holy shit I forgot about this
I remember now why I hated NF that fucking much
>can't run because everything is locked behind the storyline
>can't rush the storyline because everything is locked behind retarded sunspear / lightbringer / other PVE title tracks
>best 6 eyed girl dies at the end
>shitty eyeless girl becomes a god
>most NPCs being shit all around
Just fuck nightfall and fuck palawa and fuck everything
>Lion's Arch
Wow, I was sure that I used it on the wall already
I definitely liked Nightfall the least (not counting EotN since I never bought it) but I thought the campaign was fine for the most part. Palawa Joko was pretty great and that abyss/hellscape area at the end was neat. I just really hated the fucking Sunspear rank bullshit, and also thought that PvE-only skills were a bad direction to take the game in. A PvP/PvE balancing split is one thing but exclusive skills made it feel like they were giving up on core concepts that the game was built on.
I hope you enjoy it as much as you can, even though it's not quite the same as it was during its prime.
>PvE-only skills were a bad direction to take the game in
It definitely was proven right during the bear form fiasco
In case you don't have Nightfall yet you should buy it as fast as possible to get heroes. The game is not really soloable without them.
dude stefan and alesia are op
alesia is my waifu
Nah, I had everything except factions years ago
Ministry of Purity was right!
Bear form was bad, but at least it allowed warriors to stay relevant for the dungeons.
Hopefully soon so they can release more expansions to GW2
Joko dindu nuffin man
...
Guild Wars has the best skill icons.
stil best game i´ve ever played
...

After the PAID expansion which the playerbase DEMANDED, they continue to shit out new story and open world content for free (three new entire fucking zones in the world). True, they also shit out new skins and gliders regularly. but what you seem to forget is that the cash-shop currency is fully exchange-able with the in-game gold currency. So you can get them without spending a real world cent, which is what most people do.
Lewd gear. GW in general has really nice armors and I always spent a lot of time mixing them
I thought I played a lot...but I didn't even reach 1k hours lmao.
>tfw GW2 is a dead end and likely won't be getting any more expansions
>tfw never getting to revisit Elona and see Palawa Joko ruling over everything after turning the Sunspears into his own personal living toilets
>tfw never getting to see glorious isolationist and human supremacist Cantha
>tfw no trek across the Crystal Desert rediscovering ancient ruins while fighting margonites, elder dragons, and Palawa Joko's undead hordes
>tfw GW2 was so shit that even if we did get those expansions they'd be terrible and not worth the time
enemies using the same skills as players is probably my favourite feature in any videogame
Did you ever get in?
...
hi colin
fuck off colin
I felt ashamed at first after comparing our time played, but then I remember I've barely touched the game in the past 5 years because it's dead.
Delusional memberberry nostalgiafag, GW2 is doing fucking fine.
It's not fantastic by any significant means, and I don't know if it met all the expectations of ANet (who run, publish and market the thing by themselves unlike GW1 being under NCSoft), but it's hardly dying, and those who play it regurarly or on an on-and-off basis (like me, I log on only when there's new shit to do or for events) know there's another expansion in the works already.
I love how all of you idiots here are so deluded by your pubescent too-poor-to-afford-WoW-subscription adventures than you can't stomach the fact GW2 is different than GW1 and not a sinking ship unlike ToR, for example.
...
Analog Flamespitter. I just started playing. Got black dye as soon as I hopped into Post-Ascalon though, lmao.
thanks user, here´s another
no they want a serial key, email is not enough
If that doesn't work it might be Anelog. Shit nigga I dunno.
does gw2 even release numbers of active players or something
>After the PAID expansion which the playerbase DEMANDED
The playerbase demanded an expansion and got a pile of shit instead
>open world content for free
Only if you BUY Hearth of Thorns
>but what you seem to forget is that the cash-shop currency is fully exchange-able with the in-game gold currency
Not if you have a f2p account
>So you can get them without spending a real world cent, which is what most people do.
If that was the case, Arenanet would be broke already. The gold to gem exchange just keeps getting higher and higher which is Arenanets means to force players into buying gems with real world money.
Next time don't shill so obviously, /gw2g/ shlomo.
>sinking ship unlike ToR
ToR had 900k subs when it go f2p. I hate EA for doing shit like this
They forbid mythic from doing content for the warhammer when it had 300k subs too
People can't stand GW2 because it committed the biggest sin in vidya: being a boring video game. People can't stand GW2 because GW1 was the opposite of boring. If I wanted an MMO that's cheaper than WoW I'd stick to Runescape instead of forking out cash for Guild Wars.
speaking of self damage
>When you spiteful spirit a barrage ranger
is there any better feeling
>Why can't any mmo match Guild Wars' minion mastery besides shit like PoE and Diablo?
I never liked Minion Masters until I finally equipped Orders of Undeath
hoooooly shit
so much fun
Sorry your game is bad.
>When you juke an enemy mesmer's e-denial and interrupts and prot spirit the shock-axe warrior that rips his asshole apart
Even if I would force myself to accept the shit builds and skills of GW2, the downed status that comes when you die is just too much to accept. Whoever designed that should just fucking kill themselves
This. I spent ages tinkering with my build, my heroes builds, messing with secondary professions, and collecting elite skills. It was an absolute blast.
Last time I booted up GW2 I dropped it within a few hours because I couldn't think of a single class I'd want to level on again. The skills and talent setup were all so boring and there's not a lot of build tinkering you can do. It's like oh I want to use "this" weapon and now 5 skills are locked in. Than a heal with most of the choices being shit. And an elite, usually there's 1 good one but it has such a long ass cd that I never want to use it. And than FINALLY your 3 utility slots, but most skills are boring as fuck.
How long until it stop hurting?
>GW2 success
in what?
you know it
Prot Spirit is probably my favorite skill of all time.
So many lives saved by that skill alone.
Monk mains ww@?
