So the big five games right now are:
>LoL
>Dota 2
>CS:GO
>Overwatch
>Hearthstone
Which game do you guys think will die out first?

overwatch
In terms of esports and twitch viewership, most likely, but I think the playerbase is still pretty strong.
I believe its actually more popular than LoL in Korea, which is pretty astonishing.
Implying that a lot of the overwatch playerbase were players from LoL. So when the next hyped game comes out it will deflate.
Most likely LoL, it's losing traction and DotA 2 is starting to become more accessible while keeping it's high skill ceiling, while LoL has a low one; when using Flash over a wall makes the crowd go crazy, that's a sign of a low skill ceiling.

KINGS
number one
why are ques in lol so much shorter than dota 2 then? I get a game in any bracket in around 2 minutes, dota its a 15+ minute wait.
Dota 2 player base has been pretty stagnant for over a year now and its actually decreasing over the past quarter.
Probably everyone itt is gonna say Overwatch, but Overwatch is still growing and there doesnt seem to be a decrease in its popularity.
Meanwhile LoL is slowly dying, so my vote goes on that.
Dota 2, then LoL, Hearthstone, CSGO, Overwatch
And the RTS genre will rise once again.
Because Valve doesn't want to invest for servers in poo-in-the-streets land while Riot needs the cash from designated playerbase
It was only more popular than LoL here for the first couple of weeks, LoL has been top since then. Definitely the clear second though
it will probably be a long time before any of them outright die, but I'd say Hearthstone or CS go first.
Overwatch or Hearthstone.
CSGO numbers were always overstated because a big portion of its popularity came from illegal online gambling and organized crime money laundering.
Now that the government is finally getting its shit together to slap Valve down, the number understandably dropped down to what it always should have been.
>LoL
Haven't really heard much about LoL recently, or seen any discussions about it that wasn't from a dedicated thread or website.
>DoTA 2
still has a large player base, especially after the monkey king update. Comp scene is still pretty big.
>CS:GO
CS will never fucking die out, at least not anytime soon. We got all those autistic 12 year olds who shit themselves over e-sports to thank.
>Overwatch
overwatch is slowly becoming more quiet, only time it really gets mention is when a major update comes along.
>hearthstone
I don't know anyone that plays this game, but I still always see ads for it almost everywhere.
these games are probably going to die out in this order
> Hearthstone
>LoL
>Overwatch
>DoTA 2
>CS:GO
LoL and Hearthstone are normie games like CoD and Battlefield. You're not going to see tons of threads on Sup Forums about them but regular people that have no interest in gaming otherwise play them.
>especially after the monkey king update.
Didn't seem to have any appreciable effect.
>Which game do you guys think will die out first?
That really depends of your definition of "dying".
I'll say OW will die first in "esports and twitch views" numbers, but LoL probably die the first in the "tencent plugging out servers" after they stop to make enough dosh for their chink overlords.
I don't really know the current state of CS, so it may be in a dire situation too.
Hearthstone and Overwatch seem to be mostly carried by good streamers that get a bunch of viewers, but everybody else gets barely any.
I know the Overwatch tournament scene is pretty much dead, so I just miss Seagull would stream more instead of focusing all his time on a dead esport.
Streaming is always where the money is at anyway.
>big five
>it's all PC games
why are PC players so fucking trash?
csgo>dota>overwatch>hearthstone>LoL
>LoL has 100 million monthly players
>hearthstone is a mobile game
>overwatch is the new fun fps moba
>dota has 10 million monthly players
>csgo is boring, they're playing overwatch, in a year overwatch will have more content and csgo...is JUST
Overwatch since it's broken af. It used to be bearable before with a few imbalances and OP heroes, but it didn't influence games that much. But Ana and Symmetra are fuckin broken. Symmetra went from shittiest support to insane damage dealer and support at the same time. Ana went from shittiest healer to a fuckin OP sniping cunt with too much game breaking abilities.
If we're talking about dropping from being the very biggest games then -
Overwatch -> Hearthstone -> CS:GO -> LOL -> Dota 2
Maybe changing the position of Dota 2 based on that new big update, not sure how the fans received that.
Overwatch is the only game the normies at my job talk about.
Dota2.
csgo.
>Maybe changing the position of Dota 2 based on that new big update, not sure how the fans received that.
Seems you don't really know the dotards.
What is the original image from? I keep seeing it everywhere.
Lazytown dude.
>mfw finally quit dota 2
I can finally enjoy games again.
The turkish security guard who shot that russian ambassador.
Uh I think you forgot:
>Clash of Clans
>Clash Royale
>Boom Beach
>Marvel: Contest of Champions
>Slotomomania Casino - Las Vegas Free Slot Machine Games
:^)
Overwatch and Heathstone are both the least naturally developing games, but Blizzard is so good at supporting those two titles that I think they will be around for a while. Even if the games are casual trash people will continue to play them competitively as long as Blizzard continues to supply high cash pots for their tournaments.
I don't think that top 5 is going anywhere anytime soon. Unless somehow the new Unreal Tournament ends up being absolutely amazing.
Overwatch --> CS:GO --> Hearthstone --> Dota and LoL at the same time
