I've always played a male in nearly every game I've ever played because it allowed me to self insert.

When I got Sun I faced an issue because while I wanted to play a male as usual, I knew my friends were all gonna probably play girls and felt sort of pressured to do the same, so I did.

And you know what? It was great. Rather than self insert I just played the game, where a girl happened to be the player character and watched the plot unfold around her. It was extremely refreshing.

Similar here user, and good for you in branching out. Stepping out and just enjoying how the whole thing plays out and your role as god helping it all along is actually a pretty nice change of view sometimes. I felt like I finally understood some of the feelings people always talk about where it can be enjoyable just seeing others improve and grow and get together in cute ways, it doesn't have to be about me. Chicken and Lily were super cute too and I'd be happy to see them together. A lot of /u/ is still completely crazy though.
