Reptile hands down. Green is my favorite color and I also really liked how he was a lizard disguised as a dude, that's some real ninja shit.

Tremor finally made it into MKX and Chameleon from MK Trilogy returned for MK Armageddon. The female version is named Khameleon who was in Nintendo versions of Trilogy and Armageddon.

Back when MKX was hype someone designed a pink flower ninja, he was actually pretty neat and I would've liked to see him more than Jason.

The new ones are fun on a casual level, but they're not good fighting games at all.

Scorpion - MKX Main
Sub-Zero - MK Deception Main.
Reptile - MK9 Classic
Noob - MK Deception Alternate
Smoke - MK9 Main
Ermac - Mk9 alternate
Rain - MK Armageddon Main
Chameleon - MK Armageddon
Tremor - MKX

Tremor controls magma, crystals and gold too, don't know if you meant that by earth.
Ermac also has telekinesis and soul stuff.
Smoke, well... controls smoke, not just teleportation.

To be fair the pallete swaps existed because of storage space limitations. Thats why they started giving them unique designs from MK4 forward once it was less of an issue.

I fucking love Reptile, and Rain. Damn shame Rain wasn't playable, but I am kinda happy he had a somewhat significant role in MKX's plot, maybe next game.

I'd pay for a DLC pack that's recolors of the same costume for all the ninjas. You know you would too.

Palette swaps are the shit. You save memory and get a new character in the process. For actual fighting games, a slight change in power or attack speed could make a character high-tier. Plus, Mortal Kombat not having clones is like having pizza without cheese. You couldn't have a character like Ermac today, people would complain nonstop.

Will MK ever invent a new ninja again? Skarlet was a step in the right direction but they dumped her in X.

I wouldn't say Triborg is new. He's just the old cyborgs packed into one name. I mean technically he's a new guy, but functionally he's not.

Edgy Angst (Blood)

Shao Kahn created her through magic out of the blood of all his enemies he killed and used her as his enforcer. She was supposedly so strong he had to keep her chained up when he didn't need her. Since she's made of blood she can dissolve into a puddle of it and reappear, flings blood, uses kunai and short ninja knives, and in canon at least (not sure in gameplay) absorbing enemies' blood through her skin makes her more powerful.

I was joking about how Ermac was originally a glitch that people thought was a real character at first.

Vogel said Skarlet is one of the best new characters. She could come back.

Rain's super roundhouse was my favorite move in UMK3/Trilogy. The combos were fun as hell with it.

Nah, I actually really like the MK series' gimmick of having palette swapped ninjas as different characters.

I always liked Sub Zero, Noob, and Robo Smoke the best.
Lin Kuei is top tier.

Chameleon is rad too, it's a shame that nobody likes him.

This is actually a pretty good rating list. Mileena was great in MK9, I dunno why but the sharp teeth were really cool.

It did come out, but they cut out quite a few of content during development. Originally you were supposed to control Sonya as well.
They need to make a Sentai team.

I like the lips.

The problem with the lips isn't the lips themselves, because I feel they add a bit more of a surreal factor to her monstrous appearance, while also making her look good, rather than the copy-paste Baraka mouth where she should have a massive lisp.

The problem with the lips is everyone ignores the fact that she's supposed to have XBOXHUEG teeth and a buzzsaw right beside them, and all the artists just ignore the motor mouth to focus on her being cute. They don't understand that the contrast is what makes Mileena cute.
