>Revan is popular but absolutely nobody cares about the Exile
Really makes the noggin tick.
>Revan is popular but absolutely nobody cares about the Exile
Really makes the noggin tick.
Exile was one of obsidian's standard "You are the character" bullshits where the actual character had no story, depth, or emotion to them, they were just a shitty avatar for you to roleplay with your head-canon.
Revan was an actual character, who had a story, goals, and did things related to those goals.
>Revan is popular
What the fuck? Its just a dumb twist in place of an actual plot.
Exile isn't popular because she isn't a character. It's just a vessel for the player to self-insert into.
Revan was an actual character with background and lore that you were simply roleplaying as.
Exile had plenty of history, go talk to Bao-Dur
Bao-dur's shitty poorly explained exposition dumps don't really cover any character traits or history worth shit, the only thing he really covers is setting up the final battle arena poorly.
So?
Everything you said applies to Revan
What's your point, nigga?
Meetra Surik a shit.
Kotor 1 is generally the more popular game.
I litearlly do not have one
True. but Ironically enough all of the best bits of Revan are from kotor 2
Also Exiles backstory is pretty dope
Every step of the way you learn new things about revan, his involvement in the mandalorian wars, his history with the jedi council, his discovery of the forge, his history with malek. Every mission has some tidbits about his life or what happened.
The exile's entire history is covered by bao-dur in one long ass conversation, where all he really covers is
>we were fighting a space battle over a mandelorin planet
>REVAN activated the mass shadow generator and wrecked the planet
>it was a shitshow and almost everyone died
What a riveting backstory
Bao-dur doesn't really know you outside of a work-acquaintance setting, noone else knows you at all, and you never find out anything about yourself during the game.
Is the KotOR comic book canon to the game?
Yes, moreso than kotor 2.
Yes, but it happens year before the game. It's during the mandalorian wars.
years*
Typo.
>Also Exiles backstory is pretty dope
Definitely. The Exile also has a more emotional story and background. Revan's is kind of the typical protagonist who does too much grand, epic stuff all the time.
Handmaiden>Disciple.
Revan is literally a blank slate character. At least the Exile has an established history which allows you room to roleplay.
But Bao-dur activated it, after the exile nodded at him to do it. The ecile was the only one with the cajones to do it. And they still went and suffered the judgement of the council, rather than go full pyschopath with Revan and the others
>caring about noncanon shit
>The Exile also has a more emotional story and background
None?
Headcanon?
Because I've played through both kotor 1 and 2 maybe 3-4 times each, and I don't remember a single facet of the exile's life outside of that one battle and general involvement in the mandalorian wars.
The exile is so forgettable most of you don't even seem to realize she is named Meetra Surik.
>Revan's is kind of the typical protagonist who does too much grand, epic stuff all the time.
It's starwars, that's why he's a memorable star wars character.
>Revan is literally a blank slate character
...What, Revan's entire history from birth to the start of the mandalorian wars is like 20 pages on wookiepedia.
"the exile's" is 4 lines long, consisting of "she was a child, who was force sensitive, and joined the jedi, and rose through the ranks"
That is as blank as slates get idiot.
Arguably not canon, every piece of lore before kotor 2 came out establishes that revan pulled the switch.
>caring about Abrams canon
>The exile is so forgettable most of you don't even seem to realize she is named Meetra Surik.
In fairness, that name was introduced in TOR and the tie-in Revan book, not in KOTOR 2 proper (unlike Revan was in KOTOR 1).
Did you even play the game? The entire point of Revan being mindwiped is so that he can be a blank slate for the player.
But the character is still established, he still exists, he still has a history, and he still has motivations.
Sure he figures out what those motivations were along the way because he was mindwiped, but he's still revan, he just doesn't know it until all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place.
The exile is an ACTUAL blank slate, they have no motivations, no plot, no history, you find them in a tube and nothing before that moment really matters, you get a quick breakdown when you mean bao later but it doesn't really change anything or affect your character's motivations in any way, it's borderline irrelevant information.
>Both games are so easy nobody has ever had to reload their last save.
Really makes you think.
Exile is from a way shittier game, has no predetermined appearance and is just a literally who that got swept up in the events surrounding Revan. It would be weird if people cared.
>is just a literally who that got swept up in the events surrounding Revan
This.
Depending on which canon you go by the exile is either:
1. a generic jedi commander who made a really stupid call during a battle
2. a generic jedi commander who was almost collateral damage on revan's path down madness
Neither makes for a good backstory, and then the entire story of the game is getting chased down by 2 goons who are looking for someone who you coincidentally bumped into.
>Abrams
>implying he has anything to do with it at all
it's all Disney baybay
