This is the ONLY good vidya movie that exists

This is the ONLY good vidya movie that exists

But that's wrong, m8.

Yes.

Small time

That's an amazing poster holy shit

It was so bad
I loved it

Indeed.

America got the lamer one, even lamer for the home video releases where it's just Mario and Luigi (both sharing the same height for some reason) against a giant M

That's still better than 90% of posters today.

>My dear, for you it was the most important moment in your life, for me it was just Tuesday

This line has to be from somewhere, it's too cool to have come from a vidya movie, but I guess in the early 90's they were still trying, you know, all-star casts and big budgets.

The fat black woman in SMB The Movie was called Thwomp.

I'm seriously considering buying the steelbook version even if it doesn't play on my blu-ray because Region lock

That was Big Bertha nigga

Blu-ray

Actually she's called Big Bertha.

The Koopa Troopas are supposed to be the police officers with black leather jackets and chrome helmets.

Early versions of the screenplay hinted at Goombas that were intelligent enough to become independent from Koopa and become Bounty Hunters that chase the Mario Bros. in the Desert a lá Mad Max, but they never did manage to shoot the scene

this one too

>My dear, for you it was the most important moment in your life, for me it was just Tuesday
Only Raul Julia can pull that off. RIP in peace

>tfw Street Fighter, Captain America (shitty 1993 film), Street Fighter legend of Chun-Li all got blu-ray releases before Super Mario Bros.

I'm so mad they chickened out and made it a kids movie. A Mad Max inspired Mario movie makes no sense but it would have been hype as fuck. Also were these lizard head guys still considered Goombas? It always confused me as I thought they were Koopas

I think OP was being ironic. You don't have to give a serious answer

Really wish Raul Julia was still alive.

shit, my bad

Does Edge of Tomorrow count?

No.

It's based on a Manga though

Man I wish this ended up good

It's dumb and weird but I legitimately enjoy it. It is all about that coked-out depiction of the Mushroom Kingdom.

MK is great as well. Never saw DD but my guess is that it sucks.

Wasn't there a similar line in Conan the Barbarian when the antagonist (holy shit it was James Earl Jones, right?) doesn't even remember exterminating Ahnold's village?

...

Well that explains why it was so terrible then

Prop names indicate that they were all in fact, Goombas, even the ones with the pointy heads, while with the Policemen are all referred to as ''Troopas''

It's possible that there is a extended cut of the film out there with alternate/deleted scenes, even if it's unsure of what exactly they shot and what they didn't, but a more ''serious'' cut of the film is possible.

HOLY SHIT DAVID ICKE WUZ RITE!!?

Yeah but it's not the same thing
>You killed my mother, you killed my father, you killed my people, you stole my father's sword!
>''Oh...must've been when I was younger.''

fpbp

anyone has more behind the scenes stuff like this?

smbmovie.com has all this shit, from Behind the scenes photos, documentaries, trailers to even obscure shit like alternate versions of the script, storyboards of sequences that are not even in the final film, and Interviews with shitloads of people, most notably the editor, Mark Goldblatt and Fisher Stevens, who played Spike.

They haven't updated since the blu-ray released, and that's been quite a while, even though there's more goodies there not seen anywhere else like a full-length documentary about the making of the movie, eletronic press kits and more Storyboards.

Shit, forgot picture.

The fans actually got a hold of many of the props used in the film, like Goomba heads, rubber Stomper boots, as well as yours truly in its fully functional form as seen in the Movie.

It'd be awesome to have some games based on this interpretation of the Mario universe.

Imagine a Super Mario 64 with this aesthetic. It'd be so fun. Also, OP is correct 100%

Ironically Super Mario Bros. The Movie: The Game sounds like a very fun idea.

Is the documentaries under the featurettes section? Cause I love shit like that

Yep.
