Japanese card game

>Japanese card game
>created by team of pro mtg players including two world champions
>constantly communicates exactly why things are being changed with match data used to justify why
>core design philosophy is to include as little randomness as possible because randomness is not fun

>American card game
>created by a team that doesn't like card games and is just doing it because they get paid
>refuses to communicate with playerbase and literally created a safespace to stay away from anyone that says mean things to them for whenever they make a terrible balance decision
>core design philosophy is to include as much randomness as possible because big random swings are fun

which would you rather play?

Does that mean it's just a shitty MtG clone?

MtG
the lore behind the game world is half the fun

Nigger you think the entirety of team 5 hasnt been really big into MtG? The game is just a dumped down version of mtg, severly dumbed down.

Also only ancient else and kazakus have good art work, everything else is bad.

>if your deck has no duplicates, create a custom spell.

"I win" the card

I haven't played Hearthstone since opening 15 packs with gold on Gadgetzan release day. How's the meta settled? I'd guess it's just Reno and whatever new horseshit tier 1 deck druid has. MAYBE shaman's still in the mix too.

Nigger do you realize how weak kazakus decks are going to be without Reno? Reno is the "I win" card, without him kazakus is going to fall flat, ESPECIALLY without brann.

—and the other half is outspending them?

What gaem?

Aggro shaman and Reno warlock are top tier decks.

Pirate dragon warrior is pretty scary, reno mage is good too and dragon priest is carried by drakonid operative but its a decent deck.

When will Ishikei do some art for Shadowverse? That's the only way they'll get be to play this game.

The lore sucks. It's that cheesy fantasy/scifi crap.

Honestly, randomness adds to the fun and replayability of card games.

watching the playerbase slowly crumble away because horrible balance decisions sure is fun. Even streamers hate the game now and are playing it less.

Hearthstone became absolute cancer with the need to implement utter randomness to gloss over the lack of depth.

cant get over how awful the art is, what the fuck were they thinking? why weebshit?

it's been going downhill and in that exact direction, but lore like shards of alara was gold

There are plenty of RNG cards in shadowverse and some of them aren't even card draw

I choose neither.

So what OP is trying to say is
>Jap cardgames are done by people who play western card games
>Western card games suck
jap card game suck just as hard as western card games

The latest shadowverse expansion added quite a bit of randomness, I woudn't toot my horn about the hearthstone randomness if I were you guys

To set themselves apart from the competitors and tap into a segment of the consumer base that wants to play their card game and fap to it too.

It depends of which new singleton cards they make. If they add multiple good cards then the decks will be fine.

the deck won't be fine because it'll die turn 6 to aggro without reno

such as? daria and neph?

>shadowverse
>competitive solitaire

>hearthstone
>competitive yahtzee

I just started playing HearthStone for the first time, trying to go at it completely F2P

I'm actually kinda liking it a lot, despite the dumb luck stuff.

>playing some weeb shit
>ever

fucking maximum kek

totally agree but none of my friends play shadowverse, which kind of ruins it for me

I want to play Weiss Schwarz so that I can collect the sets of cards I want and ignore the rest. It may have more of a focus on the deck building aspect than choices during play, but it's still fun and I don't need to pick up ten thousand cards just to stay ahead of everything.

Besides, why would I even want an online collectable card game? The fun of buying a pack to open and of sorting your cards would be completely absent. No offense, but I'm well past the point where a generic fantasy setting or cute anime girls is going to interest me enough to put down some money. They need to have a good game behind it, as well.

>randomness adds to the fun and replayability of card games
That kills the "esport", and they want one.

Secrets of Eramus, Professor of Taboo, Dwarf Alchemist, Lurching Corpse, Necroassassin, Tribunal of Good and Evil,

MtG

who Cardfight Vanguard here?

hearthstone
it's not weebshit

even my casual friends play hearthstone. I don't want to look at that generic fucking weeb japan art and the best part of playing one of these card games is the friends you play with and grow with.

eww

>tfw shadowverse has some genuinely fun decks and isnt bogged down by stupid rng
>cute girls to boot

Feels good to see generals like hsg die

Duelyst

>Enemy plays a shredder
>It randomly spawns an explosive sheep
>I lose the game because he randomed a board clear into play
haha what an epic tale to tell my friends
>Uninstall Hearthstone
>Shadowverse becomes my go to card game
>The devs give free card packs all the time
>Just today they gave 3 more free packs
>Spend some real life money to support this fantastic game
Feels fucking good man

Dead game

I only play hearthstone because I've been playing since closed beta, so have invested too much time into it now. It has been buttfucked by more and more rng with every expansion, and I fully expect it to continue. My biggest gripe is how arena is more retarded than ever now with all the completely overpowered cards people can get in their decks. It's way harder to go 12 than before.

so my shadowverse updated and now it says shit in jp wtf

I'd rather play Yugioh.

Randomness is fun, just not in strategy games.

Chess has survived for a millennia with no randomness and no new content.

Can we please stop using shitty low numbers? They aren't as fun as the thousands that Yugipro uses.

>tacking pointless extra zeros on the end makes it more fun

Autism.

>Card games
>Good or balanced

kek

just imagine the games have a few more zeros and you're fine

>Pre-bahamut: We have too many aggro deck and only counter to them is Heal Haven

>Post-bahamut: Everyone now run aggro and even Haven and Rune run their own form of aggro because heal can't keep up

>not playing Eternal

>He wasn't there for the Rook and Castling update

I like the game with cute girls that isn't made by a SJW company.

Anyone that plays Hearthstone willingly at this point is fucking crazy desu

Card games are inherently imbalanced and random. Moreover, card game companies are going to always make some cards stronger than others because that's the best way to make a profit: forcing players to open boosters to get good, rare cards.

I think it would be more profitable to make multiple viable decks, that way people are encouraged to play a variety of things and buy more cards rather than just play the one or two overpowered decks that everyone else plays.

What the fuck do you call the entire wargame genre?

I wanna try Shadowverse.

Can I still somehow win against people who have played the game a long time already and have the better cards?

you're right

Wargames?

Why do people think that 'weebshit' is a valid form of criticism?

The strongest deck in the game right now is the cheapest one to make and uses no legendaries at all.

They also give you 35 packs for free at the start with another 20ish more you can earn in an hour from private matches. and since it's a mobile game you can use an android emulator to reroll your 35 free packs until you get good legendaries to make a top tier deck.

I'm getting it on Steam though. Isn't it fine there?

you cant reroll in that version. But you can link the android emulator account to the steam version.

Rune prebuilt is also pretty good. Going to get 3 later and craft some darias to make tempo rune and dshift.

This card isnt as good after the nerf anyways.

Which strongest deck are you talking about?
Daria Rune need 3 Daria and Levi
Heal Haven need 3 elena and Lucifer/Radiance
Ramp Dragon need Forte
All control deck need Bahamut
Forest is fucking expensive since forever
Aggro bat need still need Vania/ Castle/ Queen Vampire

All the deck are expensive except for banner sword and banner is dead

>core design philosophy is to include as little randomness as possible because randomness is not fun

You seem to be stupid enough to have a misconception about the core of trading card games

I don't know how to do those stuff.

Is there a guide? If none, well tough luck for me.

>Aggro bat need still need Vania/ Castle/ Queen Vampire

agro bat doesn't use queen vampire. They just need Yurius, Vampy, fortress, and Veight.

>Yurius

I'm a newfag to shadowverse, been using the aggro blood deck listed on gamepress, which doesnt seem to have veight and yurius yet. Which cards do I replace for them?

shadowverse.gamepress.gg/deck/aggro-bat-bloodcraft-gamepress

I already made the switch. >Otohime's guards don't have alt-art
>literally unplayable

use this one. Just use the collection filter if you dont know what the name is and look for the picture.

Who force of will here?

UI and art is so horrible I can't stomach it

why not just play mtg?

No good PC/mobile versions and the game is shit

I wouldn't worry too much about it. There's some people who get so invested in this shit that they insist others reroll to get the perfect legendaries. It doesn't really matter, though. You get lots of free cards just by playing, so unless you're a turbo autist just download and play.

>no good pc/mobile versions
True
>and the game is shit
Fuck off

not wanting to get fucked and get stuck with two legendaries isn't autism. It's only autism when you spend 20 hours trying to reroll for a bunch of incredibly specific legendaries.

>3 free packs just for maintenance

feels good

Game needs to be on constant maintenance every other hour so they can give me free packs desu

I like how hearthstone streamers are all so shocked at the generosity from the developers.

Weiss Schwarz is actually one of the most balanced TCGs out there. Probably the only game where a trial deck has a decent chance of beating a top-tier deck.

It's also one of the sackiest. Come back to me after you lose to Kancolle Sendai meme combo and you'll understand. I play it

What's so good about cursebrand vampire? I mean, it doesnt seem to be a great 1/2 pp turn summon and by the time you get vengeance, it's just a 2 attack summon? It doesn't have storm and it'll likely die before you can attack?

Was fun, but I only had time for one game and damn I bricked pretty hard, so I was worried.

The updated list is on the same page. Just click on rise of bahamut deck list and there will be analysis of new card and updated list

The one with the not-complete-shit UI.

HINT: It's the one that came out first

>Shadowverse gave me 1100 gold for new years
>And 15 packs a few days before
>And 3 packs today
>Plus a 2k gold achievement that took 20 minutes
>Hearthstone gave me ????
Blizzard are THE biggest fucking jews

Ok, I had to spend 800 vials for the 5pp mastema. This better not be trolling deck cause I dont know what the fuck I'm doing.

18pbp

Because you need something to play with the spare 1 point. It has 1/2 so It can trade with a lot of trash mob like Sword. The Vengeance is just a bonus

Neither because MTG is better than over sexualed anime bitch and blizzard tumblr cards

He gave you the right deck list.

It must be, because I just went into ranked match at D3 and the shadow opponent quit within 3 turns. It didn't even look like I was starting anything yet.

It works pretty damn well and I use it for my dailies if I get them and have no problems higher up.
But really I mostly play a custom rush dragon deck I made that works for me really well, so i don't know if I am the best judge only playing it for dailies.

>Hearthstone
youtube.com/watch?v=yJvNl-2bSaU

I really can't wait for Blizzard to go under as a company, worst fucking developers in recent years

Haven't played that deck, but I have played against other soul rush decks like Do-Dai. Playing against soul rush definitely involves a lot of luck but it's no worse than other card games. I would say MTG and Yugioh are way more sacky on average.
