I hated how half of the game was full with ff13 syndrome.

Should have really kept the open world aspect as that was kinda neat (except for the rail driving sequence). Bah, wasted potential with laziness.

It's actually a shame he's the one with the thief main weapons. If they had given him a katana or went full polearm they could have gone with the blind swordsman/monk motif that so many Asian stories love when you consider the comments about Ignis' cooking in chapter 14 and 15 that is.

Also fuck Tabata for sticking half the traditional FF weapons into royal arms only and teasing the shit out of us with Iris and Cor's styles. Monk is the coolest shit in most of these games and because there's no Samurai weapons we don't get shit like blade arts and gil toss even though Yojimbo does both and the Ronin does blade arts.

Even worse is that they tease you with Aranea. The fight against her where she's using her spear like a jetpack to do the jump attack was such a tease, and then you only get her for one dungeon while the actual spear weapon for Noctis only sort of gets a downthrust in comparison

Also why the fuck is Gilgamesh going to be in the Gladio dlc when it makes more sense for him to fight Noctis? There's literally a big bridge too that they could have had a redux battle with Gilgamesh where Noct goes full king in a battle with a classical king that has a full armory of weapons.

His throne section even turns the arena into that cavern briefly before the actual fight begins.

At the very least, there should have been a fight against Shiva and Bahamut. While they were on the side of good all along, you should have at least had to prove your resolve. When you approach the corpse of Shiva via train I was really expecting a horror eidolon fight. People complain about Ifrit's representation, but at least he was a fight.

Leviathan was an absolute bitch, but if felt appropriate that Noctis tears her to pieces. Probably the best setpiece boss in the game.

I doubt they even got around to making a real Bahamut in the first place since his design in the final game is just a dragoon variant of the warrior of light's design. The FF1 parallels didn't hit until well after Tabata took over.

Not really treason. Gladio was right but it sounded harsh as fuck. They're going right into the heart of the Empire and have a duty to earn the favor of the Gods and finish collecting the Royal Arms. Noctis moping around for weeks was the wrong time for the group to lose focus.

Especially when it seems like Noct was oblivious or willing ignoring how everyone had losses up to this point. Especially when it seems like it wasn't super concerned about how Iggy basically went blind for him. Which I think was the thing that pissed Gladio off the most.

And besides Noctis isn't that type of character at all to punish for something like that.

Gladio is still a fuccboi until the Ignis DLC episode proves otherwise. Until then it's his fault best boy went blind.

Yea, but that was something that was established before the actual game came out. And part of the reason why Gladio didn't like Noctis when they first met. Gladio embraces the fact that he's the Kings Shield by the time of the game, but that doesn't mean he's gonna mince his words.
