Don't answer that.

modding the game quickly and easily with a program no more complex than notepad.

it's like a dream.

They nailed the enemy design.

The art direction was very good in general.

Sneks

You kidding? Watching this guy jump looks like a melting Stretch Armstrong fucked a walrus.

But yeah, most of the designs are better except for Thin Mints being replaced with literally my mom's Yuan-Ti.

It sure was lmao

This worth if it I loved the first one? Heard a lot of bad things about it.

this

Fan fics
The design
The enemy design
The character customization
Nothing much else
I only use Long war mods since the modding scene was dead

just got it for PS4 since I doubt my laptop can run it from what I've heard Shens gift is the only DLC worth getting but apparently its still not great, should I pick it up for 1st playthrough
and mods arent really that necessary are they I played all of Xcom 1 vanilla twice and it was pretty great

it is an improvement from the last one on every aspect
so yes

I heard a lot of people bitching about timers or something is that a legit problem?

It's shit.

No shivs.

No gene troops.

Spark robots are fucking garbage.

Awful DLC.

Ethereals got replaced by fucking troll dolls.

Tons of enemies are pushovers like Sectoids and Berserkers.

Chryssalids barely appear.

Endgame consists of spamming you with big daddies every fucking where.

Vahlen replaced by a fucking nigger.

No air game.

Dumb gimmicky shit mechanics like melee.

Turn limits.

I could keep going on and on.

nothing

SPARKs are underwhelming. Nowhere near as game-changing as MECs. Disappointing.

The mission to unlock them is also pretty damn annoying, especially since it's unlocked at the beginning. So careful if you try doing it with an underlevelled/underequipped squad.

Well that's unfortunate, is there an expansion planned to fix any of this?

there is a lot of timed missions and the game feels like its meant to be played more aggressive than the first one
if you played very defenselessly then that can rub you the wrong way
i have been playing with the default timers and they are tight but with enough breathing room
if you play on pc you can turn them off very easy

Timers are a good thing because it eliminates the boring Overwatch playstyles in EU.

Timers are alright if you're playing vanilla without ayy rulers.
If you run with rulers and/or mod the game, I would go with the True Concealment mod or something to add an extra turn or three to timers.

If you don't like "boring overwatch playstyles" then you wouldn't use them and it would be no problem, so why care how other people like to play?

Turn timers forcing shitters to adopt aggressive strategies instead of overwatch crawling

Because overwatch playstyles are objectively boring. People used overwatch all the time in EU because it was safe and easy. But it was slow paced and not fun. The new timers actually make you use your brain. And the faster, riskier playstyle is more fun.

-good ambushes are satisfying
-being a terrorist killing ayys

>No shivs.
Good.
SHIVS were fucking garbage, untill you get the hover alloy SHIV, and it becomes the strongest unit in the game.

>No gene troops.
This is lame

>Spark robots are fucking garbage.
Havent played the DLC

>Awful DLC.
Yeah, I can agree with that after only playing the monster hunter one that completely ruins the game's balance.

>Ethereals got replaced by fucking troll dolls.
No duh. Why would the leaders of the alien opposition take the time to go and fight XCOM?
The only ethereal you fight in 1 are the ones that you corner.

>Tons of enemies are pushovers like Sectoids and Berserkers.
They're pushovers if you have the right tools, Which I personally fucking love. It isnt like sectoids or berserkers were tough in EU either.

Shredder HEAT rockets killed sectopods in like 2 turns using only 1 heavy

Zerkers were fucking retards who loved running into close combat specials.

>Chryssalids barely appear.
Don't mind that. They're honestly unfun and frustrating to fight.

>Endgame consists of spamming you with big daddies every fucking where.
As opposed to EU endgame with nothing but sectopods and cyberdiscs?

>Vahlen replaced by a fucking nigger.
Boo fucking hoo. Sorry your Nazi wife turned evil and got herself killed.

>No air game.
What are you talking about? That shitty little minigame where you dont even DO anything except maybe use a powerup?

>Dumb gimmicky shit mechanics like melee.
Dumb gimmicky shit is how a series evolves and finds what is condusive to the basic gameplay loop.
I think melee in 2 is awesome. It's great high risk-high reward in early game, and even in late game a ranger overwatching near a door or ladder with autoattack is fucking awesome.

>Turn limits.
The only people who complain about turn limits are people who are shit at XCOM and want to cheese through the game using over watch leapfrogging in complete safety.

Boring, slow paced and not fun.. for you.

Again, why do you care about how other people like to play?

Base game has more utility in combat late campaign than EU vanilla had (I didn't play the expansions).

Nice visual style

Some enemies can feel cheap af.

My biggest criticism is that the non timed missions weren't hit and run. You're meant to be a resistance group ffs, why would you need to kill every ayy lmao on the map?
The rescue ones felt right though.

Reminder that Codexes are superior waifus than Viper.

Agreed with everything but melee.
It's only okayish with the ayy axe and that's mostly thanks to the free action throw.

>most of the designs are better except for Thin Mints being replaced
What a homo.

This is a fact.

>that thigh gap
Firaxis really do know what they're doing, don't they?

It's not a bad game. Had good gameplay elements and a fairly interesting resistance plot line. May do an ISIS run:

I can tell you what went wrong.

>still no nude snek mods

A fucking puter

>Miss!
