How the fuck do you even play this game? I tried it and didn't know what the fuck to do or even how to aim.

I found it too difficult. Controller aiming at lightning fast invisible demons? I'll pass.

The invisible fucks always reveal themselves with the creepy laughter.
If you hear them, use the scan mechanic that makes them visible. Then shoot them in their red spots for blood.
Upgrade your shit with blood.
Don't ever use blackman for normal play, since he's the only one who can revive other characters, use him for retrieval only.
Dan and Coyote are probably the best for general purpose use (power and speed respectively, IIRC).

It's not really hard, just fucking weird and difficult to get used to. At least in the early game anyway.

Wait, no. The bald guy who uses knives might actually be the best to use, since he can spam attacks really fast.
His knives are weak, but if you're hitting the weak spots it shouldn't matter much anyway.

Oh yeah, and I think you can heal with the other blood type too. Just have to get it processed with the nurse first like with the regular blood, IIRC.

Sure. I read a lot of plot synopsis' made by diehard fans of Killer 7 and it seems pretty intricate as far as any video game plot has ever gone.
Now that's not to say I don't doubt there's some bias and I personally think the gameplay and graphics are absolute repetitive garbage and I can't imagine a story being so good that it'll actually keep someone engaged through that torture, but to each their own.

Some also calling disturbing and frightening. But that's a heavy perspective.

I love this game, got my GC box signed by Suda.
He said recently that he wants to do an HD edition and I want it already.

you say this like killer 7 is the only on rail shooter out there. at least it has back tracking, being able to choose your path from time to time, a leveling system and a gnarly as fuck story.

its been years since i played it but i remember having a hard time getting into it but after i got into it i couldnt put it down and by the time i was done i felt incredibly unbalanced and not ok.

Obviously Garcian is Emir, in some sense. But do you think Garcian existed as part of the original Killer7, before Emir killed them? I like to think so because it gives more significance to this cutscene:

(Remember that Emir was already killing people when he was young, so they can't be referring to him.) Maybe Emir killed Garcian around the same time that he killed Dan and the rest, and Emir chose him as a sort of primary persona. The ending on the rooftop makes sense in my theory, too: Garcian's remnant psyche escapes Emir's control just before Emir kills himself because of the US's deception.

I didn't? Killer 7 had those options because the mechanics lend themselves to its themes of panic and horror, becoming lost in the situation. I'm not deriding it for what it did have or praising it. All I said was that the game is heavily repetitive, which is from its pitiful enemy variations and stationary-POV shooting.

Gamecube ps2 version has big framerate drops when you get critical kills on enemies

Get gamecube version, but switch between directx/opengl/software renderer until you can oneshot the tutorial enemies by hitting their weak point (shouldn't be very hard). Dan's most powerful attack takes three vials of blood and can kill big enemies
