Are you going to play it?
Are you going to play it?
Demo was fun, genuinely got a shock a few times
Also >no quick-time events
Definitely going to probably most likely, yeah fuck it I will. RE5 wasn't so bad because of the co-op, but RE6 went full retard.
stop shilling NOT RE marketer
>RE6
>Bad
RE6 was the best shitty action movie I've ever not played
Will it use denuvo?
Demo was ok. It felt a lot like that Silent Hill VR demo but not as scary. I was a little creeped out when those mannequins upstairs moved when you're not looking, but other than that it wasn't that scary.
At least they trying to be scary again though.
...
>FPS garbage
Yup. It's the only game I think I'm genuinely interested in for the first half of 2017.
Yes RE finally looking like it should again
no
First person youtube meme horror?
All horror games are meme horror these days you fucking massive bitter cunt
What, are you THAT poor?
Yep. Numbered RE is one of three series i buy at release regardless. RE, Zelda and Kojima games. Paid $28 for it from cdkeys last summer
I'm not an underage youtuber or an outlast fan, so no. They should pick their targeted demographic better
Absolutely. I've been a RE fan since '96, REmake is my favorite game of all time, and I'm looking for a "real" new game to play on PSVR, so I'm quite looking forward to this.
Either you're underage kiddies with bad taste who started with RE4 (which I might add, already destroyed the series a long long time ago. If you want to bitch about something not being real RE, start with that kthx) or you're a bitter old fuck who just wants more games like REmake.
If you're the former, get fucked kiddo.
If you're the latter, I feel you and even agree, but at least this is a better direction than where it WAS headed with fucking RE6. We might as well give it a chance, even if it's not exactly the return to glory we want.
This desu senpai
So I finishes the demo and I'm still not sure why they would make it 7 and not a spin-off. There are barely any connections to the past games aside from maybe a few monsters and references.
I'm still gonna play it though
Because maybe they realized that you literally cannot have a horror game with connections to RE6 which literally has adonis supermen karateing zombie T-rexes to death and expect anyone to possibly take it seriously?
Honestly if there's ever been a series that desperately NEEDS a reboot, it's fucking RE.
>wanted to play demo
>default key bindings all inaccurate
>can barely navigate the menu trying to figure out which key actually does what
Did they fix this or was it just me?
Hell yeah Mr shill
>There are barely any connections to the past games aside from maybe a few monsters and references.
That was many a RE fan's complaint about RE4 back in '05, and that turned out ok for that game.
Why would a demo have all the references to the other games in it? Wouldn't people want to see that in the full release instead of blowing it all on what's going to just become an outdated demo
So.. are you handicapped ?
fuck no
i learned my lesson after 5
didnt buy 6, or any resident evil after 5.
wont buy this one
fuck off
>Are you going to play it?
I'll check the review first. I really like the graphics though.
Hey guys, it's me again. A while ago I posted my thoughts on when I was able to play the RE7 demos in VR, but now I've got something cooler. I got the chance to play the full version of Resident Evil 7 (edit: it was a preview version of the full game) for a Dutch gaming publication and it was really great. I'm fairly certain this is the same version of the game that international publications were allowed to play a while back.
For anyone wondering: Yes, this is a without a doubt a true Resident Evil game. The only difference is that it is in first-person. I've signed an NDA that prohibits me from saying anything about the story or specific game elements (like how to solve puzzles).
Some things I've noticed:
>As I wrote earlier, this feels like a Resident Evil game. Limited resources, item management, save rooms: it's all there. Also special keys, cranks, all that goodness. If you like the first three you'll love this one.
>The Bakers chase you around certain sections around the house, but there's definitely parts where you are safe. It felt like they would roam around specific sections of the house, and they wouldn't go into the main hall hub area. The aforementioned safe rooms are also places they can't get you.
>The Molded reminded me of an enemy you would see in Resi 4 or 5. Highly resistant to damage, but the head is a weak spot. Also you can blow off arms and legs. You probably noticed this in the demo though when I played they were easier to kill. Except for the fact that in some cases I encountered multiple onces at the same time. Definitely a stressful moment.
>Classic RE weapons are back. There is a pistol, grenade launcher, shotgun and more that you can miss if you're not careful.
>There are tons of secret items everywhere.
(continue)
>Item combining is made a little more interesting. You create health by combining green herbs with some sort of chemical. This chemical item can also be combined with other things you find to create stuff like ammo or pills that help you notice hidden items easier.
>There are boss battles and they're great. I'm not allowed to say what happens or how to beat them, but they were creative, fun but also challenging. I can confirm there are multiple ways to beat a boss.
>I found multiple references to the Sewer Gator Crew from the beginning hour demo (as well as others).
>The graphics and sound are amazing. But I guess that's no secret.
>Disappointingly the game uses autosaving/checkpoints in some areas which makes the game considerably easier. This made saving in the save rooms kind of pointless (unless you want to quit the game). I was hoping it would work like in Alien: Isolation but sadly that's not the case.
>A Capcom rep told me there was no 'Resident Evil' voice for the title screen in the version that I played, though there could be a chance there is in the final version.
why have all those weapons when the enemies are all invincible?
The Bakers are not the only enemies in the game, there are molded, zombies and even insects and plants too, Bakers are also killable during their respective boss fights.
but are those enemies invincible?
nice dodge tho
>"ALL enemies are invincible??"
>gets proven wrong
>"nice dodge!"
You retarded, boy?
how exactly was i proven wrong you just listed 3 other enemies and nothing else
can
you
kill
them
BOI
??
you there, boy?
lmao
>oh no! someone called me out on my bullshit! better run away!
Not the same guy but when you say something so retarded you shouldn't expect a reply.
>guy asks if all enemies are invincible
>someone replies with just a few more enemy types and nothing else, dodging the question
>ask if those enemies listed are killable
>no response
get the fuck out of here with that
I think you lack reading comprehension, read the first post you replied to again.
Gonna hold unto my money and buy Horizon Zero Dawn first. Then buy this when its price has dropped.
>The Bakers are not the only enemies in the game, there are molded, zombies and even insects and plants too, Bakers are also killable during their respective boss fights.
thats the one i replied to
notice how the dude only mentioned BOSS FIGHTS as a time where you actually kill enemies. no shit.
but can you kill anything else, not in boss fights?
what dont you get about that. thats the question here. and its being dodged HARD
No, I meant the FIRST post you replied to, the big ass post, it already mentions molded being killable.
Just dont pre-order and check it out on youtube/stream when it comes out. The shills here will tell you anything to boost sales and get that 15$ paycheck.
as some one that played all the RE's the only thing i have to say about this RE is that is a less scary silent hill and the direction that is taking is more of a RE survivor so i still not going to play it. fuck capcom btw
Resident Evil 5 is a masterpiece though. I have over 400 hours on it.
By the way, you can't blame 5 for the things you hate about modern Resi when 4 started it, hypocrite. Though everything that was fun in 5 was taken away in 6 so there's that.
that is the first post i replied to.
i even mentioned that.
do you need glasses?
molded wont be killable it regenerates dude
All the previews say molded can be killed, besides you can already kill a molded in the demo so I have no idea what the hell are you talking about.
>reeeee everything I don't like is a shill
all the videos ive seen that have the title "MOLDED KILLED" dont show the molded being fucking killed
let me see what you are reading in those previews, b
Curious how they are going to justify safe rooms. If someone was in my house and I was chasing him around I wouldn't stop because he entered my walk-in closet.
I guess it will be justified that they just don't care all that much that you're running around.
>If someone was in my house and I was chasing him around I wouldn't stop because he entered my walk-in closet.
Funny you say this. Ever since save rooms were confirmed, I've been predicting at least one "false" save room in the game that will be breached just as you breathe a sigh of relief. Cap this.
If it actually pulls off some of the puzzles that made the original games work, i would consider picking it up. Aside from what was shown in the last demo it could use some more of a lot of the backtracking type stuff that made the first 3 work out decently.
I don't they'll be able to chase you down and just stop at the door of a safe room, safe rooms are probably not even remotely close to an area where these enemies patrol.
"an intense and revolting way to begin my time with Resident Evil 7. The idea of an innocent person kidnapped by an entire family of messed-up killers is a classic horror film concept, going all the way back to 1974’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre"
HOW THE FUCK IS THIS RESIDENT EVIL
the demo was fun, but i don't know...when it goes on sale, probably
>only 5 pcs per day
What the fuck kinda anti-consumer bullshit is this?
> There are barely any connections to the past games aside from maybe a few monsters and references.
There will be in the final game. Its already known from the datamine that Wesker is a boss.
Will you seriously need more than 5 activations in a single day?
are you fucking serious
it said NOTHING of killing enemies, just SLOWING THEM DOWN
A couple of hours into the game, Ethan has his first run in with its stand-in for zombies, a new enemy called “the Molded” that are formed out of a black, tar-like substance.
Like the Ganados from Resident Evil 4 or the Majini from Resident Evil 5, Molded are faster and more dangerous than old-school zombies. They require some amount of strategy to take down; combat options in Resident Evil 7 include a quick turn and a guard button that significantly reduces the damage you take if you just can’t avoid getting hit. Molded also soak up a lot of bullets. Despite the perspective shift, Resident Evil 7 employs the classic “hold down left trigger to aim, press right trigger to shoot” mechanic. Body shots will slow the creatures down a little, but with the limited ammo available in the game, you’ll want to aim for the head as much as possible.
Where Resident Evil 6 suffered from weak-feeling guns that didn’t have impact, RE7 is back to the high point of combat in the series. Yes, enemies are powerful and scary. But when a bullet hits them, even if it doesn’t kill them, they flinch. They stop shuffling forward, if only momentarily. Carefully aiming your shots, blocking against attacks and eventually popping a Molded’s head off feels incredibly satisfying.
theres an implication, where it says "going down" in reference to shooting the molded
but thats an implication. they are regenerators dude. this game is nothing but an amnesia clone meant to get money from retarded youtubers.
for starters, they aren't actually just killers. they're obviously mutated superhumans with extreme regenerative abilities, superhuman strength,
and (mild) intelligence.
I.E B.O.Ws. B.O.Ws are very much resident evil.
>Its already known from the datamine that Wesker is a boss
Why is this lie still being spread? The "Wesker" reference is a weapon, not a boss.
because they would obviously put fucking multiple of a regenerating enemy in a single room.
No, horror games scare me too much. I wish I could, though
resident evil 4.
Woah! You goyim believe you actually own the things you buy! this is like another shoah!
In the same article they mention the Bakers coming back to life after a few moments, if that happens with the molded why don't they mention it? Simple, because they don't, "popping their head" pretty much implies they stay down permanently.
resident evil 4 has ammo drops and hordes of enemies you fucking brainless child.
>Samurai Edge is a NG+ reward
>Best gun in the RE series makes a reappearance
DAY 1 BUY
I'm just curious how the sense of space will work out. I'm trying to figure out how there can be any downtime when you're inside a house with a family of invincible weirdos that want to kill you. Especially since there would be limited space to actually hide at despite there almost definitely being some big, dumb underground lab in the manor. The only thing I can think of is that they don't care that you're hanging around and only passively try to kill you until they get fed up and then you have a boss fight. I'm not using this as a reason the game is shit, I'm just curious how it would pan out because even in the gameplay demos the players are being hunted in houses that could only realistically be so big.
They did that in RE2 didn't they? Where you open a door in a safehouse and enemies pour in. Seems likely they would do that again since it's one of the most popular scares along with the dogs jumping through a window.
I don't remember RE2 very well as it's actually been a long time since playing it, but wasn't the RE2 scare zombies appearing in the door loading screen when you transitioned to one of the areas?
Don't think there was a save room getting breached.
Well maybe they don't really want to kill you, at least not initially, the family dinner pretty much implies they want you to be part of their family, I expect them to become more aggresive as the game goes on.
the enemies won't be invincible you fucking idiots.
the baker family functions like nemesis from re3
you didn't scream and whine about that did you?
This fag is the MC? really...
Huh? What's the problem with him?
lmao i called you out and you spout some bullshit trying to save face
theres multiple regenerators in a single hallway in Re4 and theres ammo in resident evil 7 and multiple enemies, apparently.
if you have a point i'd love to hear it lmao
That's pretty much what I'm getting at. I haven't followed gaming news as closely anymore so I'm not up to date on every piece of info that came out now.
I think it was in a safe room where that happened. I haven't played RE2 for years. They did appear during the transition scene and then they spawn in the room. You can kill them or run.
I'm not the same guy but I'm pretty sure that the "regeneratos" in Resident Evil 4 can be killed.
Gross.
ah, I thought you were referring to respawning enemies. my bad.
also, regenerators are killable in re7 lmao.
and we can see from the demo that you don't need a special scope or anything to kill molded. just a few shots to the head.
These threads are terrible. I understand that they should have just made 7 in Remake style. Capcom doesn't understand how to keep a good thing going. 4 was perfect but then they fucked it up with the next two games. And now Remake was great but they fucked that up with 0, and went in an entirely different direction with 7.
I got it. It should be Remake7 style. But we already are getting Re2make so why not give this a chance? At the very least you can fight back and it won't be a boring outlast clone.
I said the same thing when Leon was revealed back in RE2, desu.
>EX Battle Mode featuring Chris
>Claire Redfield to better tie in the first game
>Chris doesn't stagger when using the shotgun like fagboy Leon
Capcom knew their new protag wasn't much of a selling point, as they probably do now.
>I understand that they should have just made 7 in Remake style. Capcom doesn't understand how to keep a good thing going. 4 was perfect but then they fucked it up with the next two games
They're already making REmake 2 for the "hardcore" fans and you're retarded to think Capcom would even go to their old style of games when RE5 and RE6 combined sold more than the rest of the series put together. Be glad you're not in charge of a video game company.
>why not give this a chance?
Why give them a chance? poor little megacorporation won't have anything to eat unless you buy their latest shovelware?
yes they can, but only if you want to restart from your last save. the amount of ammo needed to kill one regenerator is more ammo than most people have in a standard run in that moment. i knife only for villagers up until the castle, i had 1/3 of my inventory stocked of ammo and i tried killing a regen and it took like half my ammo. we are talking 2+ boxes of shotgun shells and a box of pistol rounds in my maxed red 9. thats impractical and no one does that.
>how dare Capcom want to make a profit? they should cather to me and only me!
I mean i get what they are trying to do with making him look more like a regular guy caught up in a bad situation but its a bit too much, there gotta be some consistency with the older characters.
Umbrella Corps was shovelware for sure. But this I don't see in that light. The best argument against it is that it's either made for the Youtube audience (which makes sense because they want to maximize profit) or that it'll just plain suck because it's a PT/Amnesia clone.
nigga what, you can get a thermal scope and just shoot their parasite and kill them with one hit, don't tell me you waste ammo on those things
Yeah , he is piers tier
if resident evil 7 gets the same mediocre reviews and fanboy hate as 6 did, they will axe the series along with the Re2make.
no one is excited for re7 besides the youtuber crowd or vr/outlast syle game fans. people claiming to be a hardcore resident evil fan and liking re7 are shills. without a doubt.
An iconic character is born when their personality is good, not when you like their design or not, there's a reason Billy never became popular even though they went with the cool visual for him.
>there gotta be some consistency with the older characters.
>shows an image with characters who look like they are all from different series
You can't have consistency where there was none before. The characters there range from a woman with a tommy gun in a red dress, to cowboy curtis to actual special ops agents. Some look cartoony as fucck where as some look more realistic and some like Leon are in between. Not sure how you see a lack of consistency, I would love to hear you try and explain how all those characters are "consistent" but that image of a dud's head you posted isn't.
of course not. i went and tried it out one time when i heard they could be killed with just ammo
you pop the moldeds head in the demo and it regenerates after a couple seconds
>if resident evil 7 gets the same mediocre reviews and fanboy hate as 6 did, they will axe the series along with the Re2make
previews are already being positive as fuck, I expect the reviews to be no less than 8/10
is he the character model from the demo? if so then no, the mc in 7 is different from the demo
Dude one of those characters is in heels and you are complaining about design?
