>PC gaming is not profitable!
Steam sales in 2016
>Stardew Valley almost $25,000,000
Jesus, that's way more than I'd ever thought a simple indie game like that could make.
Wasn't it also made by a single person?
Chucklefish helped the dude with marketing and ports, so they probably get at least a 25% cut.
Well, I guess there's also Steam taking a cut and maybe some other stuff, but even if he only saw 10% of that money, he still got paid pretty damn well for his time, I think
amazing how many older games are still top sellers
>1.2 million Skyrim sales in 2016
What the fuck, how could anyone possibly not have the game by now?
Out of that list I only bought Cities Skylines and Civ 5 in 2016.
>Total Warhammer broke 1 million sales and made 50 million
GW must be very happy right now
They won't be happy unless it translates to sales for the tabletop figures and books.
>pc gaming
Theyre taking at least 40% of that, for having to do essentially zero work.
...
I don't and I never plan on buying it.
its because for the last 3 years steam has been flooded with scammers dumping default unity asset "games" for 50 cents apiece. people buy them because of trading cards, valve and the scammer each get a cut for every card sold on the marketplace so no one has any incentive to stop the flood of shit.
Games live forever on PC shouldn't be surprising.
>gmod makes 12 million bucks
I've been buying a lot of games from a year or two ago, I stopped buying anything but games I really wanted while I worked on my backlog.
In b4 some consolenigger says its peanuts compared to console revenue.
I really wish JC3 had bombed.
What's the appeal of JC? Seems like a shitty muh generic Nathan Drake-lookalike male in 40's blows up shit in a shitty uninspired sandbox open world environment.
>THE FOREST
>10 million$
fucking hell...
JC2 was masterful from a technical standpoint. the movement options make the sandbox parts less boring, you can do crazy things with physics and the grappling hook which is only expanded with mods. plus there's actual variety in the world. wilderness, cities, small towns, army bases, mountains. plus, its a sandbox with a variety of content that is based on and expands the core gameplay elements, rather than the GTA way of creating some dumb gimmick mission like yoga that you never see again.
the mods, just like skyrim.
Nobody plays skyrim for what bethesda put into it.
JC3 could not be modded becaus of denuvo, and even if the removed it now, nobody cares about it enough to make the mods to make the game interesting.
no mans sky
>Cuck gaming
no thanks
>nu male sky
>stellaris
>civ shit
Shit list. Opinion discarded.
people buy tomb raider? Literally no one but me plays that on my list
If you don't get open ended or sandbox games, then I don't think you ever will.
