Vvardenfell is so comfy. I would be excited to see a TES VI: Morrowind Revisted.
Also - Morrowind thread.

I got morrowind for christmas Sup Forums said the combat is shit. It seems fine to me, I've been using long blade and leveling up my agility and I've been landing most of my hits. Also bound weapons are strong as fuck.
I wouldn't. They're not to be trusted anymore.
People raised on today's "RPGs" which are essentially just action adventure games don't understand real RPG combat.
What I love about Vvardenfell is that it's an actually unique fantasy world instead of generic European shit. Shivering Isles was also good.
TESO may be doing Vvardenfell.
From what I have seen Seyda Neen will be a faithful recreation.
Mushroom trees must really do it for you.
I bet you thought Blackreach was the best part of Skyrim.
Well, if someone thought Blackreach was the best area of Skyrim they would actually be correct regardless.
>Vvardenfell
>comfy
It's a volcanic island, half of which is fucking ashlands. It is comfy though.
Ashlands kinda suck tbqh. And there's a shit ton of them too. The other bits can't be beat. Bitter coast and its weeping trees and puddles, that desert bit with Ald'run and its constant storms, Dren plantation flats with its netchs all o'er the fukken place and the Grazelands which are like hidden behind the ashlands. Top comfy shite.
Bitter Coast a shit. Azura's Coast and Grazelands best zones.
Never played this, but want to.
What mods (if any) should I apply, and is there anything I need to know before going in?
Grazelands a best but Azura's Coast is turrible, all rocks and water. They must not have like the godess that much naming that after her.
>Skyrim is released
>Leveling sucks
>Magic has been entirely nerfed
>Dungeons are repetitive as fuck
>Just fuck my asshole senpai
>Replay it over Christmas for dat comfy snow
>Its actually quite good
>Worse than Morrowind, better than Oblivion
>Wonder why I was such a faggot
>**Dragonborn DLC was GOAT**
Still angry there was no book written by Caius, though.
Isn't it a crater "now"?
Just the code patch and MGEXE.
Code patch fixes shit.
MGEXE gives you distant land, shadows, and better shaders.
I'd recommend checking out the watercolour mod as well. Looks much better at high resolution without trashing the aesthetic.
Watch it, Oblivion babbies are coming now
Hey sport, What's the word?
>Morrowind revisited
>most skills gone
>only 5 armor sets
>only swords and bows
>shitty new plot
I love Morrowind but you know Bethesda will fuck it up.
>Azura's Coast is turrible, all rocks and water
And giant shroom trees, and Suran.
You're in luck, it's the next region they're adding to ESO.
Get MGSO for the bugfixes, ignore everything else (you can activate the graphical shit later). It's essentially Skyrim but hardcore. Don't expect tooltips, hints on loading, compass, infinite fatigue, being able to use skills without leveling them, leveled enemies or any sort of hand-holding. READ shit (even the manual PDF, take it along when you're on the shitter), ask npcs about quest related subjects and consistently check your journal links for any new info. And don't forget to ask for directions. Also figure out how to level up (read a guide or be thorough with the manual) and don't neglect restarting if you fucked up your character.
Take it slow (you'll have to) and it's by far the most rewarding TES by a million miles. You'll keep discovering cool new stuff (and not just locations) about the game LONG after you set off.
I disagree but have no problem with his opinion.
But here's something. I enjoyed arena more than skyrim [\spoiler] still haven't gotten into daggerfall but will try after this play through of mw and another of arena
>Vvardenfell is going to get defiled by MMOshit
>you're in luck
Loremaster, plz.
>recommending MGSO
>on a first play through
>or even at all
Literally fuck off. I bet you shill STALKER complete too.
I recently got back into Skyrim as well with the SSE. All these snow mods like letting it accumulate on roofs and better looking snow in general, these weather mods, build a Hearthfire home out in the Pale, get the mod that drastically improves Hearthfire lighting making the interior of the homes feel very very cozy
I literally cannot describe how comfy I am.
>tfw you can see Red Mountain from the College of Winterhold
Speaking of Daggerfall, I tried playing it on my potato using DOSBox. I can get through character creation fine, but I can't open the first door.
>Suran
Eh, some faggy Hlaalu outpost. 1 point for the strip joint but that's about it.
WEALTH
BEYOND MEASURE
OUTLANDER
No and vanilla Stalker is fine by me. Also, your point?
It went Krakatoa awhile ago.
By the time of Skyrim it was its former size.
Krakatoa also did not take long to regrow.
Literally who gives a shit about MMOs in the year of our daedra twenty-fucking-seventeen?
Is the stealth gameplay any fun in Morrowind? I was considering playing a dickass thief who wields magic. I've messed around in the game a lot but this time I actually want to play the MQs and finish faction quests.
And to you too, n'wah scum.
ESO is getting a Vvardenfell expansion according to dataminers
Enough apparently.
I recommend playing a stealth archer; it goes well with most races.
no one cares
In not sure what cause that aside from maybe fucked dosbox.
I feel morrowind suffers from the same problem skyrim does somewhat to a larger degree. I started playing through the game with effort. As soon as you get a daedric weapon and like adamantium, glass or ebony armor you're unstoppable.
Being a mage is challenging with plenty of spell failure and not so much magika.
I do wish there was a search bar for known locations on the map like daggerfall
Bound weapons tore shit up in pretty much every TES since Morrowind, it's retarded. Easy mode in Skyrim (not that anything was really hard mode, I guess) was, well, Conjuration. Bound Bow, Bound Sword, most everything dies before it can get within 50 yards of you.
That's kind of boring though. I'd like to wield some magic since it's one of the best aspects of Morrowind.
Where is the quest where you act in a play. I can't seem to remember what the quest is called or where it is. Not the lusty argonian one with the fag guy that makes you take off your clothes
Yeah. Enough people buy Justin Bieber and just because I say I like X and Bieber is doing a cover of it in the next album doesn't mean I should care or that it's a good idea to begin with.
>Is the stealth gameplay any fun in Morrowind?
illusion is good, sneak itself is pretty poor
>a dickass thief who wields magic
Nightblade is bretty gud. With Illusion, Alteration and Mysticism, you can mumbo jumbo your way past any locked door, chameleon the fuck up and telekinetically steal whatever you want. And instead of hopping from rooftop to rooftop like some amateur Batman, you can just straight up walk on water and soar through the air. Add weapons to taste.
>hopping from rooftop to rooftop like some amateur Batman
>implying this isn't some of the best fun to be had in Vvardenfell
Then you should have said I don't care about MMOs instead of who cares about MMOs.
Say what you mean and mean what you say user.
Mournhold, in the Great Bazaar.
But I like doing it while also implying they're absolute braindead shite that only mongoloids care to "play". Are you that distressed at the implication or do you just have trouble understanding people most of the time?
looking this up, i have no fucking clue how i got there before
A temple priest in Ebonhart teleports you there. Check your journal for Dark Brotherhood if you've already been attacked in your sleep.
CHIM and skooma are bad combination.
Any way to reduce the sound of static torches and flowing water? some of these sounds are way too fucking loud.
Also,
>have MCP and Morrowind Rebirth
>still looks worse than OP
how do i get comfy lands like OP? Mine's still all barren
blackreach was the best part of skyrim. swamp areas are high up there.
Yes I just enjoy being condescending to insufferable cunts.
But you knew that didn't you?
You have a weird definition of condescending. And no, I have less than a hair's width of interest in anyone who gives a toss about the happenings of fucking MMOs.
Is there any hood graphics overhaul that isn't MGSO, or will I have to manually install everything like in that pastebin? Because I already fucked that up enough times.
Manually is the way to go for the best possible graphical experience, but the watercolor mod isn't bad if you're lazy.
For some reason the music in Morrowind is really fucked up for me. I have to turn it off because the crazy distortion hurts my ears.
The weird thing is that when I open up the game and play the mp3 files it's just fine.
It wouldn't be so bad but Morrowind has a lot of areas with no ambient noise at all.
I get this but with sfx. Sometimes they're become barely audible as the game goes on. Often you hit something with an enchanted weapon and it nearly blows out the speakers wth volume and distortion.
i have something similar. But doing two or more actions at once makes the sound go supernova in volume.
>picking up a stack of 5+ coins
>MASSIVE coin sound
ok thanks game
I shall alert the press.
Just you fucking wait until two orcs clear their throats in unison.
Sadly after the Red Year Vvardenfell is pretty much all just ash wastes.
>tfw no more grazelands
Well bash me as much as you can I don't give a shit.
I would accept remake Morrowind only as another FFVII;Re.
Or Darksiders style thing.
Action game, instance based, with bosses and shit. Sum of instances equals the content of original game. Cities are hubs.
Is ESO any good? I really need a new elder scrolls game. I don't care that its a mmo
see
...
>Mushroom trees must really do it for you.
Don't forget the floating rock. Floating rocks are always the most creative, original thing you can put into any fantasy or sci-fi setting. Because rocks don't float in real life. It's so imaginative.
Memes aside, the weird architecture and desert/grassland steppes environment was just sort of fresh.
>The main story seems decent. It's set sometime before Morrowind, but I don't remember if it's set before Arena/Daggerfall.
Nigger, the game is set before fucking Talos.
mr. president! please! im tired of winning!
>Floating rock
After Vivec died/lost his power the rock crashed into Vivec city completely annihilating it.
But I already killed Vivec powered by 100 bottles of alcohol and the rock was still right there.
It doesn't happen instantly. It happens a few years after Oblivion and causes the eruption of Red Mountain.
A couple of mages make an engine that runs on souls that keeps it afloat for a while.
>A couple of mages make an engine that runs on souls that keeps it afloat for a while.
How come weird shit like this only ever happens on Vvardenfell?
Why are modern Elder Scrolls so mediocre?
After seeing these threads I always thought everyone liked Vivec because he was a bro or something. Now I'm quite far through a playthrough, not met him yet, but he sounds like a bit of a dick, breaking his promise with Nerevar.
>tfw that physical foldout map was helpful when navigating the actual game because i dont have to go in and out of the map screen
>tfw it helps me find all those unmarked caves
>tfw used it so much it fell apart
>tfw never have those f again
Kirkbride.
At least Skyrim had some good material regarding tonal magics.
>TES VI: Morrowind Revisted
Morrowind is now a region of lush grasslands and snowy mountains, previous mentions of mushrooms and volcanoes are transcription errors.
Literally who likes Vivec? I kill him every playthrough and take his soul.
Is this a stealth ESO thread?
Vivec conspired with Sotha Sil and Almalexia to murder Nerevar because they wanted to use Kagrenac's enchantments on the heart of Lorkhan to make themselves gods and Nerevar forbade them. He literally murdered his best friend, who on a side note took Vivec in off the streets where he was working as a child prostitute, out of lust for power.
Those three are also directly responsible for Azura turning the beautiful Chimer into the burnt-ass Dunmer. Vivec is as far from a bro as you can get. Dagoth-Ur is 100x the bro Vivec will ever be.
The reason everyone memes about him is that he used his newfound godhood to rub his genitals against anything and everything he could.
I wanted to get back into Morrowind but it literally fucking crashes at random around the beginning. I could be trying to leave the office or i could be stealing the golden platter i doesn't matter. It just fucking crashes.
Have you tried OpenMW?
