Grim Dawn

Just started playing this as an arcanist, have some questions:
Is occultist with pets and elem damage viable or should I go full aether?

What's the base damage for pets? If a pet has an ability will it always attack with that ability or does it have a default attack?

Anything else I should be aware of?

Pet builds are ridiculously overpowered and ridiculously boring.

Just play whatever is fun

Yeah that's why I just want them as a side thing.

>fun
Just a buzzword mang, the only real way to play rpgs is to min/max every last skill point until the game itself becomes a chore.

What are you some kind of casual?

Also if I'm adding pets to an elemental arcanist build should I go shaman or occultist?

>fun
>grim yawn

I don't think so buddy

Is this worth picking up? Looking for a new arpg to play?

Anyone?

>APRG
>Just play how you want

LOL

If you liked TQ, it's a no brainer.

>Fun is just a buzzword
Jesus christ the autism has reached a new low here

What's better Grim Dawn or Titan Quest?

just think up whatever you want
my recent build is cold/vitality sword&board
being a lich knight is fun

GD gameplay wise.
Theme wise, it's debatable.

Legit question here but is this game better than diablo 3 and path of exile? Those are 2 other similar games I have played and this one looks cool too.

Each to their own honestly
Personally I prefer Grim Dawn but there's arguments to be made for all the games.

Just pick it up and try it, you won't know otherwise.

No one can answer this for you.

it's up to you
do love making up your own builds or do you follow guides
because in grimdawn you can make almost anything you want it won't be as viable as some of the guide builds but you can make anything work

OK that's fair enough, a lot of people seem to be saying that everything is viable. I'd still like to know

>What's the base damage for pets? If a pet has an ability will it always attack with that ability or does it have a default attack?

the tool tip shows what skills the pet has with its auto attacking
their damage scales with %pet damage you get from items/constellations some pets have extra abilities as you go down the skill tree

there are also items that have skill that lets you spawn a special pet like a flame skelington or a big frosthorn

>better than Diablo 3
Not hard. Although I haven't played since launch

Is it worth going for devastation if I decide to focus on elemental stuff instead of aether?

you can always try it and then just refund the skill points if you don't like it

>mfw fighting Valdaran with a lightning retaliation build

>tfw this nigger as a cold spellbreaker

cold/vitality is the way to go ain't nothing i can't kill so far

Phantasmal Blades build?

no i'm running occultist/nightblade
with blade burst/shadow strike as main damage sources

oh i forgot to mention i'm using solael's witchfire + second rite for the vitality damage conversion might add curse of frailty ontop of that just so i can be a true lich

I was planning on making a similar build using Phantasmal Blades with the Demonslayer Set.

You got an interesting build though, what are your weapons?

right now its Crescent Moon and Meat Shield
i wanna replace those with Beacon of the Winter's Veil and Markovian set for the resistances

maybe even a Damnation if i can find one

Right as I read your post.

You can't do half and half.
And no, all pet abilities have a cooldown.

i am so unlucky when it comes to legendaries
last 4 i got were 2 crescent moons and 2 stone fist rebukes

though it makes me want to make a poison/trauma 2handed build

>aether/fire arcanist in port Valbury
Th-thanks for the new content.

I've been farming purple bosses hard these last days and got a lot of legendaries but still no Infernal Knight Pauldrons, but stuff drops a lot more than with the usual Twin Falls farm that people love to do.

Anyway, I just checked my SC character and I have a few legendaries if you want. I don't need them as I don't play SC anymore.

i wouldn't mind taking the hammer
want me to make a server?

Sure, go for it.

its called lichdude its elite difficulty

thanks user you're the man

I'm trying to make a dual wielding gunslinger Pyromancer fresh, no transfered gear or anything.

Shit is difficult, goddamn. Have to cc like mad not to get killed by sanic champions.

my favorite part is dying to skeleton knights when you don't notice them because you just shit out damage

it has controller support (clunky) but supported

Embrace the melee Pyromancer, shit's fun.

Also it might just be me but do all mobs with shields deflect and block more on veteran mode?

You have the same auras as I plan to have since I'm mainly focusing on fire/chaos damage. Those also give totalspeed+ iirc so I should be able to fire off volleys like no tomorrow.

How's your energy consumption? I might run into that problem since I'll only be wearing what I find.

>How's your energy consumption? I might run into that problem since I'll only be wearing what I find.

It's a non issue at my level, energy barely even moves but it will be an issue if you max Fire Strike too early. It's tempting to do so but don't, focus on getting to the end of Demolitionist to grab Brimstone which will increase your dps by a lot, especially with guns.
Also, Solael's Witchfire is better than Vindictive Flame once you have your movement speed capped.

Yeah that sounds good. Stats help with survivability anyway so I'll reach the end of that tree first.
