I think I stumbled upon the greatest space game ever, Sup Forums.

>real Newtonian physics (not the artificial yaw space-brakes of Elite: Dangerous or "jet-planes in space" like other titles)
>multiplayer that allows for player trading, station building, and a volatile economy
>Fully customizable ships (down to wing types and designer weapons)
>emphasis on combat that makes full use of the aforementioned physics engine
>actually is out (unlike Star Citizen) and actually has content (unlike Elite: Dangerous)

Why haven't you played Evochron Legacy, Sup Forums?

Thank you OP, gonna check this one out

You're welcome. Play on Orion Sigma (or whatever) server if you want multiplayer; it seems to be the most populated one.

>space game
>wings

This game has atmospheric landings; different wing designs actually affect the handling in air.

Bump.

This game seems good. It's not my style, but I appreciate the work put into it. Made by one fucking guy.

> actually has content (unlike Elite: Dangerous)
lies. its boring as fuck and there is very little content.
>Why haven't you played Evochron Legacy, Sup Forums?
I got bored after a few days of playing. Theres just nothing to do, multiplayer is dead, economy is very basic. I got filthy rich fast upgraded to the best ship and was bored as hell aterwards.

its for atmospheric flight. the game has a few great mechanics like seamless transition between space and atmospheric flight/planet landing, its Newtonian physics and the fact you can actually run out of fuel.

>greatest space game ever
>multiplayer

No you didn't.

Yeah. One great thing about this is that he doesn't really give a shit about "large audiences" or "accessibility." He's just continuing to make his dream game, and attract a core community of non-casuals to play it.

It might not have the greatest graphics, and some UI choices might be questionable - but you can tell a lot of thought went into this game to make solid gameplay.

It has capability for multiplayer. The single-player aspect is excellent as well.

I'm just surprised people aren't screaming shill at you.

You've made this thread before. Usually Sup Forums hates discussing video games.

>its boring as fuck and there is very little content.
There's far more content than Elite, though, which is what I'm comparing to.

Hell, you don't have to pay extra for atmospheric landings, and they're actually seamless (not separated by a facade loading screen).

But, even down to the missions and faction war - there's more variety than E:D.

Also, what's wrong with a relatively quick progression to big ships? I'd rather have that, and be able to muck around with the sim via building stations, etc., than endlessly grinding to do the same shit as before.

Also, as a player, you can affect the economy more than in Elite. In Elite, prices change at a snail's pace, and are hard-coded to not be too different. In this game, you can find some really interesting, profitable routes.

I'd just say that out of recent titles, this one blows E:D (and obviously NMS) out of the water with content.

Shills.

I did make this thread before; I thought i was a good one, so I made it again.

Outside the NMS shitposting and Star Wars off-topic threads (the on-topic ones are good), space game threads on Sup Forums are often pretty good.

>There's far more content than Elite, though, which is what I'm comparing to.
never played elite myself so cant compare the two, but it still doesn't excuse the fact it lacks content.

>Hell, you don't have to pay extra for atmospheric landings, and they're actually seamless (not separated by a facade loading screen).
It has great mechanics, and great potential. the game just needs to be more fleshed out in terms of content.

>Also, what's wrong with a relatively quick progression to big ships?
Well, first of all it doesn't really feel like an achievement. getting a massive ship in X series something which makes you go wow, I made it. heres its just another upgrade. Second, there was nothing to do after, obtaining large ships should open up new things to do.

>and be able to muck around with the sim via building stations
X series space stations are far superior to space stations in Evochron.

> than endlessly grinding to do the same shit as before.
which again relates to the lack of content, more content = more variety of shit to do = less grinding.

>Also, as a player, you can affect the economy more than in Elite.
Same is true for X universe.

>I'd just say that out of recent titles, this one blows E:D (and obviously NMS) out of the water with content.
For the same pricetag you can get X2 +X3:TC+ X3:AP which has more content and better graphics in spades.

I've only played X3:TC. I think it's a great game, too. I just prefer the spaceflight aspects of Evochron over the (certainly better) management aspects of X3.

Of course Evochron could use more content. The dev is very active with the community, and adds things that are suggested (as long as they fit well with his framework - it's not like a hodgepodge of content like Oolite with mods is).

>I just prefer the spaceflight aspects of Evochron over the (certainly better) management aspects of X3.
heres the problem, its not a simple Spaceflight vs. management, its sheer amount of content. Space battles in X series are far more epic due to the large variety of ships classes, weapons, enemies.

You get far more invested in the X universe because it has far better fleshed out story

X3 has more variety of missions, and space seems much more unique.

Evochron is just lacking. you've seen one nebula you've seen them all. planets are nothing more than an oversized asteroid with a few space stations to simulate cities and and a very basic atmosphere. there isn't much to do there and once the novelty value of it is lost planets just become boring. the story is forgettable and the factions are basically "who the fuck is that and why should I care". the entire game of evochron feels like a playable tech demo. Fine you've proven that the game mechanics work and they're good but game mechanics alone, no matter how good they are, dont make a good game.

> The dev is very active with the community, and adds things that are suggested
yes but his practices are kinda problematic. He started with Alliance, then he added more content in the form of seamless planet transition but instead of adding it in the game he decided to release it as a brand new game titled Renegades. then he did the same with Legends, Mercenary and Legacy. increments which can be labeled as DLC at best are sold as completely new games at full price.

is the frame rate shit

I just want a space gaem where I can get 120fps

on the topic of tech demos and space. remember infinity?

Why is nobody talking about this game? The earliest youtube video talking about this game was an year ago. No fucking way people would pass by something like this. Every space sim nerd would jizz at this. Is it the marketing's fault?

>No fucking way people would pass by something like this.
well people are passing over it, obviously
>Every space sim nerd would jizz at this
not really. its not a very good game.

How come? I see good reviews on steam. People are impressed by its mechanics.

>mechanics
literally the only thing good about the game. but mechanics alone dont make a game.
