Hideki Kamiya

What, in your opinion, is Hideki Kamiya's best game?

Scalebou- OH WAIT!!

The one where he kills himself out of dishonor for not completing Scalebound

baldie simulator

Okami

Wonderful 101

The Wonderful 101

Metal Gear Rising

W101

Okami is very charming but it has some issues

Has it been confirmed yet? ;_;7

RE2

not a Kamiya game dumbass

Bayonetta 1

W101 is amazing.

Nothing.

Serious question: Was anyone REALLY excited for Scalebound or was it just hyped because it was Microsoft exclusive and had Kamiya's name on it?

Almost all the gameplay we saw looked mediocre and the frame rate was cancer and that's coming from someone who usually couldn't care less about frame rate.

Okami.

Resident evil 2 is the only correct answer.

Resident Evil 2 is his only good game.

This.

Is that game along with Bayonetta 2, Tropical Freeze and Xenoblade Chronicles X enough to warrant getting a Wii U for $150?

I was genuinely excited for Kamiya doing something other that action game for once. Hoped for Okami 2.0

The Wonderful 101

bayonetta 1 or 2, not really a fan of his other games

I was interested. There's no platinum or any hack n slash games on xbox I want to play since only Bayo 1 is back compatible. Really hoping they put out MGR compatibility now. The genre in general is becoming nonexistent and even more so on Xbox.

only if you decide to pick up Yoshi's Woolly World too.

Oh
Then nothing

Okami followed by godhand folowed by resident evil 2

God Hand was not Hideki Kamiya, he did Okami and Viewtiful Joe with Clover.

he didnt do godhand?

Viewtiful Joe 1

Shinji Mikami was the director for that one, Kamiya's name is nowhere to be found in the credits. He would've been working on Okami during that time probably.

Still a good game.

Devil May Cry 1 baybeee

No, that was Shinji Mikami, one of his good friends and his mentor. Kamiya admits freely that he considers Mikami a far better developer than him.

Kamiya's has made the following.

Resident Evil 2
Devil May Cry 1 (which in turn pretty much spawned an entire genre)
Viewtiful Joe
Okami
Bayonetta 1
The Wonderful 101

>TFW you were about to get an XB1 for Scalebound then the game was cancelled

If you've got money to throw around

...

>The genre in general is becoming nonexistent
We're getting NieR Automata and we got Bayo 4 and DMC4SE quite recently. For a niche genre it's goin pretty well I'd say

Anyone feel like Scalebound's cancellation is pretty much the cancellation of Kamiya too?

>Resident Evil 2
>Devil May Cry 1
>Viewtiful Joe
>Okami
>Bayonetta 1
>The Wonderful 101

i know Sup Forums just wants to meme about hacks and whatnot but that is one helluva track record

It is, Kamiya is one of the most consistent developers out there. Those games may not be perfect but they are all excellent titles.

Bayonetta. Hands down, one of the best games I've ever played. I'd say Viewtiful Joe 2 second and MGR:R as third for Kamiya's best.

Yea I guess butthose Ganges weren't ever rely my bag. I'm a Ninja Gaiden Black fanboy and they aren't that for me.

I was almost tempted to pick an Xbox One S just for Scalebound since I love owning physical copies of games. Glad I didn't waste my money on it.

Kamiya wasn't involved with Metal Gear Rising at all.

Yeah, get MK8 too if you like the franchise, it's definitely the best one so far.

or Viewtiful Joe 2, Kamiya doesn't do sequels of his own games. Bayo 2 for example.

No? Are you retarded?

>fingering a baby
JAILED

Oh, well, scratch that then. I have not played Viewtiful Joe 1, so I guess Bayonetta and Viewtiful Joe 2 are the only...

Wait, he didn't work on Viewtiful Joe 2 either? Wow...I guess Bayonetta is the only game he worked on that I love.

This

>I have not played Viewtiful Joe 1

Man you really should, it has a charm and heart that 2 really lacked.

Kamiya worked on Viewtiful Joe 2 and Bayonetta 2 as a story advisor, nothing more. He didn't direct those titles.

>Kamiya comes to Sup Forums and only responds to the shitposter

Every time.

MADMAN

When can we expect Taro to come to Sup Forums?

>Kamiya worked on Viewtiful Joe 2 and Bayonetta 2 as a story advisor, nothing more. He didn't direct those titles.

Man, no wonder Bayonetta 2 felt so lackluster. It was a good game, but it felt like a shell of it's former self.

I do plan on getting Viewtiful Joe, but first I have to replace my old copy of VJ2. Is the gameplay much better as well?

>thanx & do your homework

It's like he knows this board's current demographic.

The gameplay is a tiny bit simpler since it's only Joe and the Record power isn't in the game. But it has a charm of its own that I guarantee you are going to fall in love with.

Okami

Resident Evil 2

Well, only Resident Evil 2 is getting a remake correct. It's that, it's always going to be that.

Okami. I'm not a big fan of Platinum but I'll always respect him for making it with Clover.

Unfortunately my biggest complaint with Okami is that it's way too easy. I never saw one Game Over screen while playing it.

Okami

i picked one up for basically just bayo and wonderful 101 and i thought it was worth it. but i really, really liked bayo so it's up to you basically.

RE2.

Most of his other outings range from simply good to overrated.

No, wait for a digital Switch release or something.

What's Wonderful 101 play like?

bayonetta

viewtiful joe

Either Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe or Bayo

I'd at least wait to see the switch's functionality and whether it's backwards compatable and shit. If you're seirous about games and you don't want to get a switch then yes there are enough good games on the wii u to justify the purchase. (personally I don't own a wii u because I don't spend enough time playing games, especially console games but some of my friends do own a wii u)

Favorite Wii U game you've played?

I was interested enough to want to check it out.

Where do all the assets go now? The art? The combat framework? Years of work just down the drain.

Kamiya's sanity down the drain too.

They'll probably repurpose some things for other games

There were several things that weren't shown at all during those trailers. It sounded way more hype too from the people that actually played the latest build.
It's all down the drain now though.

>We have a great line up of exclusives for 2017 even with Scalebound's cancellation.

What did they mean by this?

Like Devil May Cry and Bayo but with a very unique way of handling weapons. Basically you draw your weapon on screen with the right stick and you Wonderful Ones take the shape of that weapon. It takes some practice but it's very fun.

I feel like that would definitely make it smoother and fast-paced. My biggest problem with VJ2 is it's slow pace in a lot of segments.

WiiU has mostly been emulated. A whole bunch of games like Captain Toad, SM3DW and MK8 are fully playable already. There's no need to buy it at all now.

For $150? Absolutely. And there's still a few other games you can pick up to that are worth it like Mario Kart 8, Smash, and Mario 3D World.

> Not loving Okami

You're breaking my heart...

I'm just glad that Kamiya won't be chained by an American company for his next game now.

Okami.

Why do retards still think MGR was Kamiya's?

Because a lot of people still think Kamiya is the only developer at Platinum.

Viewtiful Joe
I would say DMC1 but I doubt Kamiya was the only person who had input on that game.

Viewtiful Joe 1 is far superior imo

That's like saying Killer7 isn't Suda's best game just because he worked with Mikami

That makes no sense. Kamiya directed it just like he directed the other games.

Fez

I did. I heard it was coming to Windows 10. Glad I didn't upgrade to Windows 10 but i wanted to play Scalebound.

Oh well at least the man can have some break and a good vacation. Sad thiugh the game was cancelled.
