I don't even see how this is a problem, the top was from a clearly prerendered trailer, 2 years ago, and the bottom is live gameplay. Both were shown before the game came out, and the latter generated far more buzz than the former (which was almost forgotten before it became a new bait image).

If it was just the 2014 trailer, and the final game released as the 2016 gameplay footage without any prior footage showing how poor its graphics are, then I'd see the problem...but that didn't happen.

BotW Wii U definitely has framerate issues, that's well known and can be seen in the E3 booth gameplay even off-camera. However, you're right that the saturation and colors in general look far better off-screen than in captured footage - the Wii U has a problem with its RGB out, which can be fixed via a tweak of your TV's saturation and colour intensity.

It's a really weird quirk of the Wii U itself, but here's an example of what I mean:

note how the wii u side is washed-out; giving it that "muddy" look, though this look is much more prevalent in XCX and BotW.

it's not a QTE, Link did a successful parry, knocking back the spear as it attacked him - by doing so, he was able to do a "flurry rush" attack in retaliation (akin to "witch time" from bayonetta)

It's probably taking a significant part of frame time to process/render. If it runs at 60 on its own that could be up to 8 or 10ms, which is far too much for just the grass on a game when you have 16ms to fill (or 33ms for a 30FPS game)
