thats a big lie
Are you joking? Everyone was excited as fuck for Scalebound, game has looked amazing since it was first revealed and it had Kamiya behind it.
I-I cared ;_;
>le dragons
and nothing of value was lost
It looked like shit when they showed it, and I won't mourn its passing, save for being a bit sad for Kamiya because once upon a pre-Microsoft time it was a title he was really excited about.
Well Yeah.
Nobody remembered you even existed until you were cancelled.
And I still don't care
Looked like a interesting concept when it was first showed.
Then when gameplay was displayed peoples hopes faded. Not disappeared or dashed. Just faded.
People mourn what could have been and this just puts another nail in coffin for Microsoft's games divisions.
My ass we didn't. It was my most hyped game of 2017. Fucking Microsoft
>Said it was a game he always wanted to make.
>Got Twitter butt hurt at Microsoft over how they handled promoting the game.
>Hasn't tweeted anything since last year.
>Reportedly took time off for mental health reasons.
Fun way of saying he's fucking depressed that four years of work on one of his dream games got squashed by either over ambitious goals, shitty relations with MS, or a combo of both. Still a bit sad either way.
>cared
You looked like a piece of shit since your reveal. The only regret that Microsoft should have is not canceling your ass sooner.
I kinda forgot about the xbone entirely honestly.
I know people like to shit on the Wii U, but what the fuck happened to that garbage console?
People did care, but we weren't an obnoxiously loud fanbase because we were waiting to see results and more media first, the concept was great, but most of the gameplay we saw left people with more questions than answers.
We just gave MS the benefit of doubt, and they fucked up, this is the result.
Is Scalebound really dead?
multiplats ms shooters and forza
Don't forget Mister Chef
Why MS doesnt use whatever Kamiya had done until that point and finish the game themselves? In what world is a right thing to just throw away years of work and resources?
Bad PR from which it never recovered. Kinect and always online DRM effectively culled a sizable amount of its possible user base who, in turn, latched onto the PSQuad. Then there's the three years of barely any worthwhile exclusives (console or otherwise) and the murmuring behind the Scorpio and all your left with is a fancy looking vhs player that is sustained by the most dedicated of 360 "Xbox 4 lyfe" holdouts.
>Loli and dragon game never ever
fuck microsoft
Yes, unless a miracle or meme magic can resurect it out of the grave.
I didn't really care but I wanted to see how it would turn out since Nier Ass Tits Mouth got a demo. I thought scale bound could be a reason for more weeb games on that system.
I'm guessing it's a copyright issue. MS was publishing it but it doesn't necessarily give them the right to work on their code.
Maybe Nintendo will dig it out of it's grave like they did Bayo 2. Bayo 2 was very close to completion as well before Sega got fucked over by Gearbox and had to cancel it.
Just don't expect it to be anything like what was shown 2 years ago.
>During gamescom 2016 year they showed Scalebound in private showings.
>They showed off something called "Dragon Link", something that they, as far as I know, haven't shown to the public ever and now possibly never will. Up until that point they only showed fairly basic combat that looked great but more in the vein of Dragon's Dogma and less like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. That's why many people used to Kamiya's games were pretty disappointed. And then they showed Dragon Link. It's a button you hold and then the camera switched into First Person Mode...and you controlled the dragon. So then you controlled the Dragon from Drew's perspective, which still looks HUGE because the camera doesn't zoom out but goes into first person and you fight against another huge Monster. And then they started comboing. They fluidly switched from Drew to the Dragon to Drew by holding or not holding the Dragon Link button.
>Think the weapon system of DmC but instead of holding a button to switch to a certain weapon you hold a button to switch to a fucking dragon. So these two characters juggled that huge monkey enemy into the air with all the usual attacks and combos you know from Platinum Games only it was A HUGE GODDAMN DRAGON DOING THE COMBOS. There was a combo counter and a rating and everything. It was their direct answer to the "Where is the Platinum action?" question.
>It looked fucking great and as far as I'm aware they have never released that footage, just as they never showed the HUGE array of customising options and RPG features.
>I'm so mad about this cancellation. Goddamnit.
>game has looked amazing
Amazing in sub cinematic framerate
Game looked like ass
Didn't care when they announced it.
Didn't care when they showed gameplay.
Didn't care when they delayed it a dozen times.
Don't care now.
cool source bro
>game has looked amazing since it was first revealed
It looked like shit when they showed the multiplayer video.
I'm sure Sony will be in touch. It'd be such an easy PR win that they'd be crazy not to.
whatever nerd
game looked like shit and that's all there is to it
Tax write offs, maybe? I mean Microsoft must have an accounting department dedicated to situations like this.
...
TICKING AWAY
THE MOMENTS THAT MAKE UP THE DULL DAY
I thought it looked alright. My Dad has an Xbone so I probably would have played it at some point.
>In what world is a right thing to just throw away years of work and resources?
In the corporate world, tossing newborns into meat grinders can be justified if it spells either profit or reduction of expenses.
A game that looked like DMC crossed with Drakengard managed by Microsoft. I dont think many were expecting much.
I would have once it was released.
Kamiya get out
For u
Yeah, I believe this totally stable guy!
youtube.com
Now they need to cancel See of Thieves; that shit seems too expensive to make, moderate fun and nobody will play it.
Fuck you, I cared and I'm sad. I thought it looked good.
...
Taking bets now on how long it takes to see reports of Kaz or Yoshida "visiting" platinum.
I didn't know about the game until yesterday. I looked it up after seeing people talking about it.
I really like the idea of a guy+dragon fighting together so it is kinda disappointing to lose the game. I
I legitimately thought it had great potential.
I thought the idea of having your own dragon in an open world Action RPG was fantastic.
I literally never even heard of it until a couple days ago when people started bitching about it.
>Kamiya works on Scalebound for 4 years
>it looked like shit and gets cancelled
>now he has to take time off because hurt feelings
>Small platinum b-team working on Nier Automata
>Looks great
>Finished earlier than expected
Sony should step in and Buy the rights to it
>In what world is a right thing to just throw away years of work and resources?
Did you started playing videogames yesterday? There's a ton of unfinished games they were cancelled by some stupid reason.
...
>Sony should step in and Buy the rights to it
If this wasn't an exclusive I could see that happening.
But now that it's a fucking exclusive it will never happen because then that makes Sony look good and Microsoft bad.
Scalebound will rot on a harddrive somewhere for all entirety.
>we could have been playing Battlefront III last gen
Are there any Xbone owners anyway?
it's almost as if the majority of people don't give unreleased games attention until they get marketed
you fritter and waste the hours
in an offhand way
iT LOOKED GOOD AT FIRST BUT SUBSEQUENT VIDEOS SHOWED IT WAS A GENERIC ACTION jrpg, AND NOT IN THE GOOD WAY LIKE dRAGON'S dOGMA.
I wouldn't be surprised if M$ just fucking deleted all data related to Scalebound after this year. It's not like it's a game that's received a huge amount of attention like Last Guardian, and M$ isn't known for doing things with passion driven reasons.
It's unfortunately true. I never saw any threads on this game before the cancellation announcement.
yEAH mAN
Whoever's fault it is, the relationship between MS and Platinum is now fucked, meaning we're probably not getting any Platinum games on Xbone or Scorpio at all. And it's not great for their relationship with Japan in general, which is already a problem considering how few Japanese evanescence we've gotten on Bone compared to 360 and original Xbox. This isn't just bad news for Scalebound, it's bad for all Japanese games on Xbox.
s
Maybe because there was almost no information about Scalebound.
Dragon's Dogma looked like a shitty japanese attempt at a wrpg when it was revealed, don't pretend DD is any better.
Because they barely show us jack shit about it
>Everyone was excited as fuck for Scalebound
Speak for yourself. It looked like DmC with dragons from day one.
God damn this game would have been absolute ass.
youtube.com
There were constant threads in the weeks after each announcement or any time there was new information. Just because you don't see any Nioh threads doesn't mean the game has been forgotten, rather what we know has been talked to death and now we're just waiting for release.
speaking of cancelled Star Wars games...
I doubt they even have access to the data
First time I heard of it was from the cancellation announcement.
Also Kamiya on suicide watch, lel.
It's an exclusive that they funded of fucking course they have access to the data. Are you fucking retarded?
as long as Activision still hires them to make games they'll have to make games for Xbox
though bigger stuff they won't
I love the GAF meltdown over this.
Before Cancellation
>OUCH! NOT LOOKING GOOD FOR MICRO$OFT!
>YIKES THIS GAME LOOKS ROUGH
>XBOX IS REALLY STRUGGLING
>NOT A VERY COMPELLING EXCLUSIVE
After Cancellation
>WOW MICROSOFT IS KILLING THE INDUSTRY
>THEY KILLED THE ONE GOOD XBOX GAME
>FUCK YOU PHIL SPENCER
>LET'S BOYCOTT MICROSOFT FOR THEIR ANTICONSUMER PRACTICES
Found the song that was used in that footage shown at E3.
youtu.be
They have nothing to look forward to expect maybe Kingdom Hearts 3, fucking KH3 of all things.
Every fucking time. Every time it's posted, the person posting it thinks those were all games at some point. No. They didn't even get to the concept stage it was just idea's thrown at a wall and nothing more.
Supposedly Activision is done making licensed games for now, so that well is dry.
Wow it's like websites don't operate on hiveminds.
so? do you have any idea how software development works?
don't even bother responding, Sup Forumsermin.
okay how about this
>Star Wars episode VII
Mother fucker.
Kamiya pls go
It's intellectual property belonging to M$, they can give an order to remove all data from drives on Platinum. If they refuse they can take their asses to court.
GameFAQs thinks Sony sabotaged Scalebound's deal and Nintendo is trying to buy it for their own exclusive.
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Which board?
>THE RELEASE SCHEDULE I FILED WITH MICROSOFT LISTS ME, HALO WARS 2, SEA OF THIEVES HERE, BUT ONLY ONE OF YOU!
fuck that bald mofo lmao
The hype got neutered after the gameplay reveal and was killed completely after the shitty E3 demo.
...
I won't, but it still came out better than Skyrim, a real western RPG.
A picture of Kamina after he was fired.
A picture of Kamiya's email from Microsoft.
I think you've lost the thread of this conversation. DD looked like shit on reveal, but turned out to be a rough gem of a game. Scalebound could have been exactly the same situation, Skyrim has nothing to do with this.
You're right, my mistake.
Who'd win in a fight; Rebel Jedi or Jedi Rebel?
Rebel Jedi's name starts with R, which is way more badass and cool so he wins by default. Jedi Rebel shitters can suck my flaccid cock.
