Can pirated DLC work on a steam copy of a game? Or do I have to pirate the base game too? I don't mind buying games but I'll pirate the fuck out of a game that has a lot of DLC.

I've heard of people doing that with some games but it actually activates the dlc on your steam account so I'd be too tinfoil to try it out of fear of getting my account with thousands of dollars of games banned.

I meant for games with just some DLC like Xenoverse 1 and 2. Other times I don't see the DLC shower coming like in Cities Skylines. Solid game but it has DLC that costs more than the base game.

Nothing wrong with that. I did that with Sun. I pirated it at first on my 2DS and later pre-order purchased Sun off Amazon for $35 total.
