In case of a fighter that would require an active player base, so the game would have to be phenomenal to take off, assuming it will be an exclusive, on a Nintendo console of all things.

If the console happens to house multiple titles supporting an arcade stick, I'd definately consider it. But we're talking about Nintendo, and Nintendo consoles never had a lot of fighting games since the Super Nintendo.
