Can't really say where DRG is in retail. No one in my LS really uses DRG but from my understanding its better off than MNK is. For a long time DRGs with the mythic polearm where pretty top tier but they made a change to some of the weapon skill modifiers so Drakesbane was indirectly nerfed by it,

how OP are dnc and thf now with all the haste resorces and eveycaster able to use 30% magic haste spells?

Hes wrong about WAR if its properly geared, though i wouldnt call it interesting either.

For low man content maybe, but for alot of end game fights like HELMs and Omen WAR is one of the best DDs, requires alot of gear though. Also BRDs get a bit of a boost if they have access to Honor March.

DNC is great because its pretty self sufficient and they can do huge skillchain damage with Climatic Flourish (I think thats what its called). Don't use THFs for DD outside of that one stupid HELM fight so not sure how they are against other DDs.

I would take that list with a grain of salt. RUN should be top tier in that list because of Gambit/Ryake for a lot of endgame fights.

GEO more or less shat all over BRD and replaced it. Honor March helps out BRDs a bit but that requires having the Aeonic flute.

The only reason I ever maxed out Bard was to get invites to do expansion pack missions and end game shit, all while being easy as fuck to play and you didn't have to fork out much money for gear/songs (I wasn't gimp though, kinda proud of shit like my Gaudy Harness).

Emphasis on the easy, I once fapped in an XP party once while keeping up xp chains.

The problem with Bard is it was never updated for the lv99 cap. Making their songs percentage based instead of static will go a long way in fixing it.

user everyone has capped haste easily now, unlike back when you probably played where only war/mnk could easily hit it. Add in trusts giving tons of magic haste, jobs like SAM and DRK having job ability haste. Noones idle for more than a 1/4 second tops unless theyre slowed

Personally, I would say no. I find with all the changes, XI right now is uncomfortably too close to XIV for my taste.

That being said, some people do enjoy what remains of the game for what it is. Your mileage may vary.

Too bad the next free campaign is about one month away, or I'd advise waiting for it.

If what you strictly want happens to be the old school hardcore FFXI, no point, that game isn't there anymore.
If you want a relaxed revision that feels more like a bittersweet "give everything before it ends" endeavor, where access to content matters somewhat more than gameplay, just give it a go.

You can literally use a new weapon skill mere moments after the animation from the previous one ends.

Tons of pet: Gear means pets are fucking tanks that hit like trucks. So BSTs are pretty damn good tanks and mid-high tier DDs depending on gear for both. Same for pup

That tier list is wrong (I.E. Warrior has the potential to deal the most damage)

Is there any official merch for ffxi?

They've tried to kill the game twice now, and it still lives and thrives.

First was Abyssea + raising the level cap, which was announced alongside the public reveal of FFXIV at the fanfest

Second time was Adoulin and the introduction of a ton of elements from XIV and other modern MMOs such as ilvl gear, which was also set to launch around the time XIV was coming out.

The only thing feasibly left to kill XI at this point is the Nexon version, which hasn't had any progress shown at all for over a year now. The only other thing that can kill it is the dwindling player size due to various dev factors, like their design philosphy being that content should be accessible to everyone, not just the poop sockers with perfect gear and loadouts for every single scenario. I've seen some FFXIAH autists raging over that kind of design shift, since SE is nerfing encounters and buffing player stats to let more than 5-10% of the playerbase have a chance at reasonably gearing and playing the game.

The truth is that eventually there will be more players leaving than joining, and only then will Vana'diel know true peace
