Is this good lads

i3-6100
gtx 1050 ti

I wanna play overwatch and other shitty games like skyrim with mods on high

I don't expect to play games like battlefield 1 or witcher 3 on ultra max settings but would it run better than consoles do?

also can it play anime?

Yeah it's a good computer op

kys dumb weeb

Yeah that would run stuff way better than a console would. I would recommend a weaker graphics card for a stronger cpu though. Maybe an AMD graphics card instead of Nvidia. I have an i3-4170 and a r7 370 and I'm really happy with it.

Chill out.

Literally holding back the industry with your toaster

yeah, it's good enough.
Especially if you pack 8GB of RAM in it as well. 4GB will suffice for many games, but it will gimp the experience at times.

Might as well post it here; I haven't bothered upgrading my PC for years since I've only been playing Skyrim and Fallout 4. Now that there are games like Titanfall 2 and Esape From Takarov here I want to upgrade it.

What's a decent, affordable, effective upgrade from my Intel Core i7 4790K/Gigabyte GTX 980 system?

>Core i7 4790K/Gigabyte GTX 980
You literally do not need to upgrade anything. Period.

Fuck, I'm still running i5 2500 (non-K), 8GB DDR3 and GTX 560ti 1GB, and have had no problems playing any game smoothly at 1080p just yet. And no, not even "all low" or "just indie / oldgames" either, like some always claim.

t.pleb who has idea about hardware

I agree, no need to upgrade if you don't plan going 1440p or 144hz on Max settings

I mostly built this PC for work because my last PC; i5 3570K/GTX 680, was not really supported for multi-threaded tasks. But I just want to play those new games at good settings...

>can it play anime?
Sure if you like low quality pixels

Literally skylake, the fuck are you on about?

>i5 3570K/GTX 680, was not really supported for multi-threaded tasks
No idea what the fuck you're doing for living then, because I'm a graphic artist, and I've ran 3Ds Max, Photoshop, web browser w/ a dozen tabs open, music player + all the typical background services and shit, without any problems, on that i5+560ti system I mentioned earlier.

>But I just want to play those new games at good settings...
You really are tech illiterate, huh?
You already CAN play ANY games with good settings. Your rig is STILL very high end.

Adobe Premier Suite, so running for hours rendering and converting files. Even with Photoshop, it got bogged down when I had more than 100 layers at maximum resolution. Having GPU acceleration made a massive difference. What would take 2 hours was whittled to 15 minutes.

Had to upgrade to 64GB RAM but DDR4 upgrade is tempting because I plan to upgrade my camera gear to a 50MP system.

Well, suit yourself.
Like said earlier, in my opinion, you have zero reasons to upgrade.

DDR4 ain't gonna be a game changing upgrade. Tons of test have shown that especially in vidya use, amount of RAM matters notably more than the speed of it.

What comes to Adobe's products, check your cache / history space settings. If you got some 200+ undo moves stored up at all times with some 8K project, no wonder you're facing problems.

Yeah I have the history set to max just in case. It is my livelyhood after all. One of my last projects included single a 1.5TB file. It was such a bitch to work on. Had to get a couple of PCIe SSDs in RAID 0 just to handle it.

Holy shit you are the embodiment of terminal cancer, you might kill thousands just by breathing

sorry

but also can it do PS2 emulation?

epic im a big leafy fan too
hisssssssssss

>One of my last projects included single a 1.5TB file
...what in the living fuck!
I mean... jesus, how do you manage that??

No wonder you need a NASA's super computer to fill your needs. I'd suggest starting making backup saves more often, and making a new 0.1 higher "version" of your project every time you consider having achieved something necessary.

It will.
And ignore him. He can't even make a difference between different CPU generations and 1050 / Ti.

>mobileposter telling anyone off
lel

Well if he has to do that kind of thing I'd suggest investing in a raid array with a proper raid controller, they are a lot better than software controllers

It was a short film project, shot entirely in RAW/flat picture profile. Even the B-roll was in RAW as well. It was a head fuck, but got a few thousand bucks out of it for a week's work so I think it was worth it. Plus claimed those SSDs on tax so it was essentially a """""free""""" upgrade.

I only know the basics of tech since I don't really keep up with it. I kinda just go along and upgrade if I need to, but since I haven't really done anything to this PC apart from storage upgrades, I thought my i7 4790K/GTX 980 was a fair bit dated.

tfw pc from early 2014 can play the witcher 3 on max

>I thought my i7 4790K/GTX 980 was a fair bit dated.
couple years old top-tier components are FAR from "dated". Yeah, they ain't cutting edge anymore, but especially CPU evolution has been sluggish as fuck for the entire decade now.

What you clearly need is a cluster of high speed storage devices, like that raid array mentioned earlier.
