Can we have an actual discussion about this instead of a meme slinging shit show? What are the pros of this game? What are the cons? I've been watching it for some months and it seems to be coming along pretty well. But I'd like to know first hand from people who have actually accessed the closed alpha what it's like. It'd be nice to get an unbiased opinion but I know that's going to be pretty much impossible here on Sup Forums.

Yes they may be immersive minimal hud FPS games, but they don't capture the same feeling of being alone in an urban setting. Also, those three games really don't capture the feel and weight of guns it seems as EfT does. I haven't played myself but from videos I've watched I've been impressed with the weapon models, animations, sounds especially and the actual performance of the guns. Shotguns in this game actually seem to work like shotguns which is very pleasing. Most games you have to be right on someone to hit them with a 12 gauge and even then you have to shoot three times.

it's already a flawed game and will fail hard Promotes total passiveness and hardcore camping, run with a group and win easily, camp exits and win easily, only 1 (2 if you include inventory tetris) mode that's basically deathmatch and loot in different maps, and all of this for an absurd price.

also I'll add, if they weren't afraid of it failing it would be on steam early access so if they fail to deliver on release people would ask a refund and get it, but it isn't so it will most likely end up in a cash grab.

How small of a server size are we talking? I prefer smaller servers sometimes. In a game like this I feel it could be fun.

I was more so talking about your claims of people cheaply camping exits and hardcore camping in general. It's not really necessarily a run and gun shooter but I have seen people play it that way.

Oh you mean the ONE guy streaming right now? I've seen a lot of videos of people playing and this doesn't occur. However, I don't really have a problem with this. Perhaps it will encourage people to band together instead of playing alone. Kind of form temporary factions in the server. Be extremely careful in your movements and so forth. What exactly makes this a "bad" game?

I don't think camping is mandatory persay. Probably really slow movement and sneaking if you're rolling solo. This kind of shit is exactly what I would like about a game like this. I am wondering though how the netcode and hit registration and all that is as far as PVP goes.

Otherwise the game is pretty sweet. I've got spawn killed one time, but otherwhise i didn't see real camping.

I don't know I haven't played it myself. I've been watching a stream of a guy raiding locations with a squad and taking loot and it seemed pretty fun to me. Losing loot is going to suck but when you get out of Tarkov with all the goods you could carry? How sweet that must be. I'll be buying it when it releases. Don't think I'd drop the 140 dollars for the EOD pack but it seems like a fun game for 45 bucks base retail.
