Painful was a pretty cool game, but the usage of Joy changes too little and the so spoken about "element of choice" is non-existent. I strongly dislike how the game flips the table on you if you somehow defeat Buzzo.
Overall, it could have been better. But it has a charm of its own and I like it a lot. The toon weird visuals mixed with the violence and darkness blends well.
The First is more of a niché thing. Weird unpolished puzzle game with creepy elements. Played it after Painful, pretty good if you strive more of the story.
Joyful was a disaster. It could have been a PREquel about Rando rising to power, but the cunts had to try too hard and Linkin Park the shit out of the game. Buddy is unbearable and reminds nothing of herself in Painful, the whole game looks like a bad fanfic.

But there's a lot of speculation on whether the state of Olathe really reflects the state of the entire world, or if they're just quarantined without fully realizing it.
Buddy's origins are hinted at a bit more if you play Lisa The Joyful.

The rpg maker game was completely different.
In that game you played as Lisa in a yume nikki-esc dream scape. It wasn't very good though, as the story was just that her dad raped her, and the game told that in like 2 seconds and the rest of it just restated it over and over.
