Its giving me an "an error has ocurred" and then proceeds to restart the console

if eshop is down, that means freeshop is also down as it runs off of eshops exact servers.

I bought a N3DS from one guy pre-hacked at 11.0.0-33U but I don't know the methods he used to hack the 3DS.
Can I update the system in the settings normally or do I have to install files from outside sources?

Do you know what he installed at least? For sure with a9lh + Luma you're fine to update normally. If this is what you're on and the guy did everything right you should have a Luma updater on your homescreen, holding select while powering on will boot you in to a Luma menu and you'll have a luma folder and "arm9loaderhax.bin" in the root of your SD card.

Ive gone through all the steps, but I did it with a fresh SD card, and the one with purchased games was on another. Can I put them back onto the new SD card, or is that the end of my animal crossing town?

Has anyone else had an issue with SDXC being registered by the O3DS? Ive formatted it to FAT32 but to no avail so fair.

I've checked the SD card and it does have a9lh + Luma, but I don't have the Luma Updater.
My Luma version is also old already. Should I go to download and update both of them on Github or anything?

The goal of these threads is to spread a fake guide layered by SSL and cloaked through HTTPS (3ds.guide) in an attempt to have people brick their consoles.

At least half of the information posted in these threads is false and will lead to you to either:

(A) Bricking your console
(B) Getting banned by Nintendo

The guide (which could be compared to 'fake news') has been subtly edited to appear real but following the instructions in said guide WILL lead to a bricked console of a perma-ban.

The most shocking part is that people saying that their consoles were bricked/banned are dismissed as trolls and EVERYONE believes it.

This is a disgusting scheme and I advise anyone thinking about 'hacking' their consoles to think twice before falling for it.

This post will also be dismissed as trolling. You are free to choose whether to believe me, who has nothing to gain, or them, who would love to see you suffer.

have you check if you card is using mbr? gpt is a no-go. if you indeed have mbr you need to check your card for errors with this:

Also, the official Nintendo guides advise against using multiple cards for a reason - as in continuously swapping them. Issues may arise from doing that.

I have a 32GB card cause it was what I had lying around, but I've installed every game I could think of and still have 19GB left.

Although I imagine the price difference between 32 and 64 now a days isn't much. Just make sure you get a high speed one, class 10.

if you can follow directions and copy/paste/rename files then you can do it. seriously, its as easy as that.

just be sure to read the annotations in the guide, particularly the red ones - there are a couple very important things to avoid like closing the lid of a new 3ds while on 2.10 or upgrading before restoring your system. other than that though theres no way you'll brick

The 3DS can handle more than 32GB you know, they just only list it as 32 due to the specifications of the SD standard they're using.

Go ahead and pop a 64gb one in or a 128 and you should be just fine.
