Apparently it'll only be about 15 hours long.
I was going to get it, but I'm not spending $60 for 15 hours. Just gonna wait until it gets cheaper, I guess. Tell me how it goes friends.

But isn't 15 hours 3 times longer than the average game these days?

sucks to be poor

The first Resident evil i about 8 hours playthrough your first time, quickly shortened to 3 hours.

If this is 15 hours it's the longest mainline Resident Evil.
Actually 6 may have taken longer than 15 hours, nevermind.

Point is 15 hours is long for an action/horror game, whichever this is.

Yes, but I don't buy games on release much until I know it's well over 20 hours. I reallly want this game but I'm afraid it'll go by too quickly, and when I finish it the day after release I'll sit there wondering if it was really worth paying $60 for.

Not OP, but I feel like I just make an excuse why every single release is not worth full price. Only game I wavered on was MGSV, but I ended up getting that with a new graphics card anywayand it was fucking shit, so I really dodged a bullet

Buy it on cdkeys for $30

Yes, but I'm wondering what the replay value would be. I'm wondering if it'll even be good. I really did enjoy the demo for it, it freaked me out and was entertaining, but I'm not sure I could get through 15 hours of that. It's uncharted territory, since we know so little about the actual story.

I'm worried about it too.
If the game sticks to the horror throughout the game, then the second playthrough wouldn't be the same, at least in older ones it was still enjoyable to run through gunning once you know what to do.

user that's only like $4/hr of entertainment. Have you ever watched a movie in the theatres? That is closer to $7/hr.

15 hours is way over the average (8 hours) day 1 buy im going to buy a bucket of chicken and masturbate furiously while i play.

Whats the duration of the other RE games?

I think since it's "returning to its roots as a survival horror game" and will focus mainly on horror, it won't have a lot of replay ability. You'll know all the scares, and the only reason to go back would be to get collectibles or platinum it.

>these days?
Games have always been short as fuck to be fair. It's just certain genres are often shorter than others.

Since when is 15 hours a bad thing?

Yeah because it wasn't like the Alien game didn't drag out it's welcome. No sir. That game was a gem of new experiences up to the last minute.

I'm curious, what exactly is an acceptable playtime for a 60$ game? Not counting multiplayer, but just a campaign,
how long would it have to be for you guys to be willing to buy it full price?

>Get $600 for books from grant.
>Pirate all but two of them.
>$430 left for RE7

>MFW I'm not a poor NEET.

God I hope not.

The demo(while pretty good for a boring horror game) left a bit of a meh taste in my mouth.

For me RE1 took about 8 hours on my first time. This is long for a resident evil game, yes, but then again I've never spent full price on a resident evil game. I feel like I could get much more bang for my buck if I go with Tales of Berseria and Yakuza 0 instead.

It's mostly because I don't know if I'll get more time and enjoyment out of Yakuza 0 and Berseria or RE7.

I have a choice of 3 games for my birthday
1 of which is already taken.
That leaves 2.
There's quite a few games coming out on the 24th of this month, including RE7. I'm considering buying it, Yakuza 0, or Berseria, and I can buy 2 of those three. I've had trouble deciding since I'm really excited for all 3. I'm just wondering which ones I would get the most enjoyment out of for the most amount of time

1 thru CV is probably like 5-6 hours each.
4, 5, Rev1 and Rev2 are like 10 -15
6 is like 25 - 30 hours because of the 4 campaigns.

You could tell that CapCom was influenced by P.T. heavily. But I heard that the demo is nothing like the actual game?
I won't lie though, the Baker family has really peeked my interest. The whole mystery behind what happened to them gets me eager to find out.

>But I heard that the demo is nothing like the actual game?
I'm holding out hope for that. But I I have a feeling it's gonna go a bit to heavy on the "spooky blinking lights in empty corridors with no real threat".

That's fraud, you poorshit.

I just realized I committed tax fraud and identity theft last year.

Spooky.

How can two books cost $170?

I'm guessing you never went to a university?

University textbooks are incredibly overpriced because they know students are forced to buy them since they have a cartel like deal with the universities.

It's why there is such a huge piracy and second hand market for textbooks.

Kind of sick. It's extortion

>Poorshit

I don't think I should show you my $7k in scholarships from being a disabled, 'homosexual', National Honor Society member.

Also, fraud kicks ass.

Got them used since they don't require an online code; that's the way all textbooks are going since piracy is ruining their bottom line.

The original RE was like 6 hours long, you are the cancer killing video games. Rather have a good 15 hour experience than a boring, padded out 40 hour experience

The datamine has 5 unlockable modes, if I recall correctly.
Hard mode, Destroy Mr Everywhere, Time Attack, Birthday, and TU2.

RE games were always pretty short (aside from 6) if you one-and-done'd them, but replay value was one thing that's been consistent.

Buy RE7 and ToB on keysites, split digital Y0 with a friend.

RE7 is $30 ($20 if you're okay with dealing with a Russian key), ToB is $40 ($15-$20 for RU key), and splitting Y0 would make it $30 each.

You know, RE1 is considered a masterpiece and I finished it in 2h15.

I heard it has multiple endings, could be interesting.

quality > quantity

plus like said it has multiple endings
