How often do you guys find yourself using the 3D part of your 3DS? Since I bought mine on launch I think most of the times I've used 3D has been to demonstrate it to people who were curious and I mostly just use it as a regular DS. It feels like there's more aliasing or it's more noticeable when the 3D mode is on.

Also, 3ds.guide/ fucking do it, you wont brick your 3DS if you can follow simple instructions.

nice thinly-veiled 3ds hacking general

the 3d mode gives me a headache and yes there's less aa and more jaggies on 3d mode, i played all the 3ds mh games and it's very noticeable

I usually leave it off, I sometimes turn it on in 3d Land in those stages that start really high up but you progress by jumping down levels or do skydiving-ish stuff. It makes the backgrounds pop out more and it makes depth easier to gauge

Bought my new 3dsxl a little after thanksgiving, bought the exploit dsiware game one day before nintendo took it down and successfully installed custom firmware the day slow/waith4x was released. Thanks to the 3ds hacking discord for all the support

I'd use it more but if the camera clips something even once, I have a headache now.

I never use it, sometimes most of the time I even forget that this is a thing.
It's nothing more than a gimmic, and you can't name 1 (one) single game where it meaningfully contributes to the gameplay.

Where the fuck can you even find a 3ds? My local Walmart, Target, and FUCKING GAMESTOP don't have them in stock right now.

I have never used the 3d function since I tried it when it was new.
Shit gives me head aches.

Headaches are nothing compared to the nausea caused by max 3d in mgs3d.

The one time I ever used 3D was the handful of puzzles in Mario 3D World where the view made it easier.

In too many cases, 3D view cut frame rates to unacceptable levels, so I just kept it turned off.

buy them from amazon?

I turn it on every now and then out of boredom or curiosity and then turn it off because it simply looks like shit.
Doesn't give me headaches or anything, it's just the picture quality is awful.

I don't understand the headache and nausea some people get. For me it's just kind of annoying that it's so easy to lose the effect and the aliasing. Literally my only problems with it.

I'd rather the thread not turn into a hacking general but I threw that in just in case some people missed it or are dense and haven't done it yet.

Use Amazon, but I bought mine around launch at Walmart in Canada.

I start feeling sick after 5 minutes if I activate the 3D mode, so I literally never use it.

Anyway, can I play NDS games on an hacked 3DS even though I don't own a flashcart? Or are they literally unplayable on a regular SD card?

I use it for every game with the exceptions of those that cause drastic framerate drops or make interface blurry.
I understand why people don't like it. I experienced heavy eye strain during my first few play sessions with it on. The thing is that after those few hours your eyesight permanently adjusts to it. I recommend trying it. Most games look really nice in 3d.

Ignore it as best I can like all of Nintendo's gimmicks.

I use it all the time, except with sun because the game doesn't support it

3D is always on.

how do you turn it off? my second screen is always on

I always have it on, it looks excellent in EO, Kirby, ACNL, and KI: U.
I don't understand the headache or such complaints unless you wear glasses I guess. The only complaint I get is the odd framerate drop, but it doesn't bug me much.

I always use it, in most of the games I have it adds a nice depth boost sort of effect that makes up for the smallish screens without sacrificing resolution with an XL. One of the few Nintendo gimmicks I've genuinely appreciated and any complaints I had about losing the sweetspot are gone since I got the Mario new 3ds

You need to install cfw on your 2ds first.

I wear glasses and it doesn't bother me, but I need them for seeing far not near so I can just take them off when I'm playing.

Once I got my N3DS I started it using it fairly often as it actually works compared to the original

Eh, I was basing that off my little sister, who always plays with it off because her super thick lens glasses interfere with the 3D.

I have 3D on sometimes for some games like SM3DL, OutRun, Galaxy Force II, Pilot Wings, Zelda etc.

Not for stuff like Rhythm Paradise Megamix though.

The thing is, if I do extended play sessions with the 3D it messes with my brain heard. I keep seeing 3D on 2D screens for several days even. And it still happens while watching movies as well. First time it happened it freaked me the fuck out. You can read online from others that experience the same thing if you care to look. Takes days for my brain to fully recover. So this feature might actually be harmful to you I dunno.

Also, if I play a lot with my 3DS no matter if in 2D or 3D mode I swear the fucking pixel pattern gets like burned into my retinas. Like a screen door effect. I keep seeing like a grid in dim light situations IRL. The screen is truly atrocious that way. PPI is an absolute joke.

But I still kind of like the system.

She, or your parents, should look into getting her high index lenses then. They'll still be as thick in the middle but they're lighter and thinner near the edges.

I mostly play when I'm using the subway, so I never turn on the 3D.

Hmm, I don't know what kind she has, I'll ask what kind she uses next time I talk to her.
Thanks user

never ever ever. it's terrible, it was always terrible, it's always going to be terrible. good riddance.

oh and i do have a n3ds and it's even worse with the screen flash to update the eye tracking 3d.

To those of you that say you use the 3D all the time, here's another question. Which 3DS do you have?

Original Red XL.

0% of the time. I enabled parental controls just so it doesn't get nudged on and drain battery.

I see no point in it. It offers no conceivable advantage and the drop in FPS and rise in power consumed isn't worth playing what amounts to a pop-up book.

Just recently, a breakthrough was made in booting DS roms off the SD card. However, since it literally just released, it's not really worthwhile. Most games at the moment won't boot.

I use it at a medium-low setting and my eyes never get strained, unless whoever made the game fucked up with the text by being too high up. I don't remember which one had that issue, Dual Destinies maybe?

So I should get myself a flashcart if I want to play NDS games? Which one do you suggest?
Also, sorry for the dumb question but I never did this before: if I hack my 3DS using the regular SD card then do I need to copy some files on the flashcart to make it work?

Guys what's with all those games that have options menu declare circle pad vs dpad input, when it doesn't matter? It makes no sense why they shouldn't just have both active all the time, it's not like you'll ever accidentally bump it.

on my old 3ds i never had it on, on my n3ds xl i never turn it off

anything works just just stage-2 launchers
copy is fine

Shit, I don't really know, my last flashcart was the original R4. From when I've asked around, I believe the R4i Gold is a good pick.

Never, but mainly becuase I canĀ“t see the 3D effect due to a birth defect (my left eye is blind)

Thanks a lot anons. I'll look around and see if I can get a cheap one then.

I liked it for Kirby Triple Deluxe.

already hacked and for the bait question, pretty much never, the only time I used the effect through 100% of a playthrough was when Labyrinth no Kanata's English Patch came out because the game used 3D really well and it almost felt like a Second Person Game so it fit.

>bait question
uhhh, okay? I guess my curiosity is bait now.

bait as in this is a LITERALLY NO EXCUSE THREAD not bait as in being an asshole

Why shouldn't you hack your 3DS, aside from morals?

bought the console for the 3d thing and use it whenever i can. If it fucks the fps too much or i'm on a car, no deal. Otherwise, always there

I always use it.

I used it like 3 times with my old 3ds because the tracking gets fucked up easily. I bought one of the Black Friday editions me apperantly they improved the head tracking and I pretty much leave it on

Looks great on monster hunter 4ultimate and generations. Like the visuals actually look crisp like they get some sort of anti aliasing

Ok, so i used that fucking guide and now i have no fucking idea where to get the games, or how to use them with it. the fucking guide only tells you how to basically homebrew enable the 3ds but nothing else.

>love the 3D gimmick
>find out about sexy qr codes with naked girls in them that is full 3D
>mfw

I don't see myself using the 3DS much at all, shit is a dust collector.

I occasionally turn it on just to see what some stuff looks like. It's pretty cool but hard to look at.

Dunno if I can post the link and not get banned so just google 3dsiso and go to the forum that should be the first link. That's where I get my cias from. Put them in the root of your SD card then use FBI to install them. Hope that helps user!

Why in the fuck would you get banned for that?

>3dsiso
that shit requires you to sign in

Freeshop, you fucking mong.

I basically never turn the 3D off, unless I'm going to be out and about for a long time and won't be able to recharge for a while. I don't know what you guys are talking about with headaches.

I'm blind in one eye, so never.

how the fuck should i have known nigger? all the shit i google up is either in russian or fucking brazilian

Boo hoo, they don't require verification so use any email you want.

Posting links to a website that hosts pirated content isn't against the rules?

>Posting links to a website that hosts pirated content isn't against the rules?
where the fuck do you think we are? reddit?

i use it all the time, unless the 3d adds little or no depth, it makes the framerate go to shit, if it's a bottom screen-focused game, or it's on low battery

N3ds and n3ds xl since it barely work on my o3ds

i always play with it off. the mhgen cinematic looks fucking amazing with it on though

Are you retarded?

sometimes I forget that boards other than Sup Forums and ones related to it exist
im checking the fuck out of that later

pretty much

sold my o3DS and the games I dumped into .cia for my n3DS and got $200. I'm going to hold on to that money and see if the switch will be good, otherwise I may buy a ps3 with it or something, not sure what I would do with it besides buy a switch.

3D isn't even available on pokemon Sun and Moon. That's how overlooked the feature has become.

It is available in the photo finder.

However it is taxing on the 3DS and they minimized it to ensure the device would be able to handle SM, as it uses up most of the device's power. If they included 3D in the same manner as the much less taxing XY, battles and such would slow to a crawl for non New 3DS users.

If you're thinking about hacking your 3DS, fucking do it.

>free vidya with working online
>no region lock
>custom themes
>emulation
>doom

if you have a 3DS and you haven't hacked it yet you're a nintendo loving faggot cuck.

Is there any way to get the music in Doom?

>How often do you guys find yourself using the 3D part of your 3DS?
100% of the time it's available. Best graphical advancement since the jump to polygons. Legit disappointed the Switch doesn't have it.

>if you don't steal like me you're a c-c-cuck!

links pls

that's literally what I just said, is there a problem?

i almost never use it, it hurts my eyes and because i have a launch model 3ds it makes the battery life even worse than the abysmal tier it already is

not that much, the 3D is pretty useless, a gimick

twitter.com/DGW666

I'm assuming that you replace the DOOM.wad with one that has music in it

Most of the times i use it in boss battles

well that did not work, got a yellow screen freeze
