If nintendo seriously wants to win anyone back they're going to have to WOW thier audience with this direct, because right now its nothing but speculation and rumors, and half the stuff coming out for PS4, is BEFORE the Switch even launches, Meaning if the switch DOES get ports, it'll be long after everyone else has already played them, thus making them oboslete.

The switch will surely be an exclusive machine, or for multiplats I'd rather play at a friends with multiplayer as I can just pop the console into their dock, or buy a spare dock to keep at their house.

For me personally, in a direct comparison, there are two switch exclusive games I want, with two extra remasters in which I'm interested. The PS4 on the other hand has only two games that interest me, both of which I plan on getting on different systems because neither are exclusive.
So yeah, it makes more sense for me to get a switch over a PS4.

While I think you could have presented your argument better, I completely agree. The only reason I bought my PS4 was because Nintendo let me. They had my brand loyalty for my entire life excluding the past year, and I eventually got tired waiting for them to step up, and went to the company that has for generations. I love my PS4. The line up I am going to be buying between now and April is more than Nintendo was able to offer me for years owning the Wii U. I hope they let their portable division call more of the shots with the Switch, because the 3DS was comparably managed incredibly well compared to that of the home console division.
On that line up the only thing I'm interested in buying is BotW and Pokémon, and I'm not going to buy a console for 2 games.
Don't misunderstand, unlike a lot of anons, I do want Nintendo to succeed. At this point I just question whether or not they can get out of their own way to allow themselves to.
I know what they've said and it's just to cover their asses if the Switch was to fail because they can't afford for people to lose faith in their handheld division. The 3DS is the only thing keeping them afloat currently so of course they're going to make sure all their bases are covered.
If the Switch sells there's absolutely no reason for them to develop another handheld. This is their endgame, to merge their home console and handheld branches into one. It's the future of gaming, all consoles will be like this eventually.
