yep. maybe it's because i'm tired of the platforming genre, but the gameplay didn't expand much since the first one.

I think it was probably the best platformer of this gen, also I really liked how the WiiU version mixed things up.

Yes. And I also didn't like the art style.

They just churned out a crappy flash game pretty much.

best platformer this gen is DKTF my man, Legends is alright but it felt too much like a runner game to me, rather than a platformer.

I love the art style so much but the level design feels like the fucking runner iphone game. I dont know if it gets harder later on but Origins was so much better it hurts.

Sorry but DK hasn't been good since the trilogy, adding more partners just to get over some poorly designed obstacles isn't good design and I wish they had learned that from DKC2

good thing Legends includes 80% of Origins then

you clearly have not played DKTF

Honestly Origins was way better. Both in artstyle and actual gameplay/level design

for the last time, Legends contains almost the entirety of Origins. Only a retard could say Origins is better

But you need to unlock the Origins levels, AND it's lacking Land of the Livid Dead, so no, Origins is better

Sorry but you are factually wrong in every way.

>But you need to unlock the Origins levels
they're really easy to unlock, you basically just play through the legends levels to unlock the origins ones, and land of the livid dead is just 1 fucking level, who cares?

so i can either play through the shit and boring levels to unlock origins OR i can just play fucking origins. hmmmm i wonder whats the better scenario here???

Legends isn't great but it certainly isn't boring

No kung foot though

Thought it was awesome. Got it free with gold a while back and its one of the few games I've completed 100%

>Legends contains almost the entirety of Origins
Without Land of the Livid Dead. Also, they SIGNIFICANTLY dumbed down all the stages (especially the Tricky Treasures) which is stupid since they're extra unlockables.
And no Lum Kings.

And with a better artstyle
Legends has some nice setpieces but the pastel-esque artstyle only goes so far. I really enjoyed the more cel-shaded approach with vanilla Origins

>Legends is missing 1 level and 1 type of uncommon collectable
I agree they did dumb it down a bit, but that's mostly due to legends smoother controls (especially when wall-running)

>Origins
>cel-shaded
you are clinically retarded

I think Legends' artstyle is an improvement on Origins' simpler, flatter, appearance. Though it's not a massive change either way, the character designs remain identical, just with a few extra shades added and slight changes in tone.

Both Origins and Legends were 10/10 games for me. True fucking masterpieces of this decade. I am not ready to compare one against another.

It was created with WiiU in mind and 5 player fun, which we had on NYE the year it was released.

Sorry you played the sloppy seconds traitor versions.

Both are fucking great. I wouldn't say to rely on Legends to cover all bases because playing Origins proper is a hell of an experience. Get some friends to tag along as well

>but that's mostly due to legends smoother controls
Actually, it's mostly due to them removing hazards and relocating enemies.

Origins is a better singleplayer game.

Legends is a better multiplayer game.

the levels look gorgeous but the 3D stuff in legends looks godawful

there's a couple enemies they couldn't be bothered to add to Legend's new artstyle (like that mustachio'd man with a gun, for example); I don't feel it had that much of an impact on the experience overall, though.

>They just churned out a crappy flash game pretty much

Genuinely kill yourself. Legends is one of the best looking 2D platformers ever made. There is literally nothing except Origins and Ori and the Blind Forest that compare.

>spoiler
yeah I agree actually, the 3D tends to look out of place in the gorgeous hand-drawn environments

Am the only one who likes both Origins and Legends for what they are? Outside of how they control (exactly the same), they are actually very different games in terms how they're structured. There was once a really good comparison video on YouTube that the guy took down because he talked too much shit simultaneously.

Even their respective artstyles capture each game perfectly. Origins' artstyle suits the Jungle and Temple settings more, whereas Legends' artstyle suits the more Medieval Castle and Greek Myth themes.
