Switch Preorder-ers

Serious question. Why are you guys preordering given everything we've seen today? Were none of you around for the Wii U launch? I'm not even talking about preordering because you have to buy it right the fuck now. There will likely be a fucking abundance of these consoles on launch day or even a week after release.

separate issue but those of you planning to scalp are even dumber. People scalped the Wii U and bought 8 consoles at a time just to find out no one fucking wanted it anyways aside for Nintenfags and they couldn't sell units at a profit because stores restocked quickly.

i'm not fucking poor and i like zelda

1. I don't live with my parents. get a good paying job (30k+ -at least- not a fast food job you faggot) and don't spend hundreds of dollars on pot. what do yo pay for a bag mr. underage? probably almost the cost of a switch right?

2. i like zelda

i really don't need to justify it

30k and money to blow on a garbage console I'm going to guess you're single.

Also Zelda is shit

>i'm not fucking poor

I didn't say shit about not buying it at all so you can stop projecting and making shit up. No one is asking you to whip out your dick here.

My question is why lose sleep over it and rush when there will be units available?

Given your response I don't believe you make any significant amount of money because of how fast you sprang to defend yourself financially and how you didn't even seem to understand what I was asking.

I bought a 3DS at launch but only started using it with KI: Uprising a year later. I'll wait, the only game that interests me is MK8 but I can also play the Wii U version.

If you want to buy it anyways there is no reason not to preorder.
Shit sells out all the time, last case isnt even that old with the NES mini.

Tell me why should anybody not preorder if they actually want it day1?

>Buying consoles at launch

money, fool, etc.

Zelda.. then Mario next month..

nothing in between, no multiplats, no third party support.

It's literallty the wiiU in terms of first party content drip feed. Fucking useless system.

>when there will be units available?

Yes. Eventually.

>then Mario next month
It said holiday 2017, so it's like october or some shit.

Because regardless of how much you guys don't like it, there are those of us who think this show was more or less the best thing ever.
I was in a group call of people with differing opinions when I watched the presentation and we all popped off at almost everything that was shown.
Even the "Lol a new No More Heroes is coming kay bye" got us pumped. We sincerely apologize in honestly finding treasure where you see trash. I paid well over $600 on the stuff I've purchased tonight, and without a shred of doubt do I not regret a single penny of it.

I bought the WiiU and 6 games on launch day and I'm preordering the Switch for day 1 buy and 3 games.

Fight me.

>TFW made a whopping £12 after Ebay charges/shipping scalping Fire Emblem special edition

Further, the delays brought up as bad are a paltry wait. Summer is a mere five months from now.

Genuine curiosity. I just want to mess around with it at home and not in some demo in a store. Also I can return it if I don't like it. I did this with PSVR. Novelty wore off in hours and shipped it back to amazon for a refund.

I bought a Wii U at launch, even pre-ordered it

Doing the same for the Switch because I know I'll play the fuck out of it, especially with Zelda as a launch title it's already miles ahead of the Wii U launch.

Like I said, There was an abundance of Wii Us. This won't be any different.

This is the EU Launch lineup:

Skylanders, Just Dance, 1 2 Switch and Breath of the Wild

Why the fuck would I spend £325 minimum on that shit? I'll get Zelda for

>get a good paying job (30k+

Do you live in Peru or something lmao? Fuck outta here broke ass nigga

Then you and your other pre-ordering friends have awful, shit taste and no standards.

Yeah, no. The Wii U launch failed because the average Joe thought it was just another Wii and he already had one of those. Just naming it the Switch put them in a way more advantageous position at launch.

It also didn't help that the console had no games either. I'm going to take your word and hope you're right.

Okay, sorry I have a differing opinion than you. You do you, I'll be enjoying my shit tastes and will gladly continue supporting Nintendo as long as they keep making content that piques my interest.
If valuing what looks like a nice wave of content over some numbers about how powerful the machine is when the games made for it play just fine makes me wrong, I gladly embrace being wrong.

>STOP HAVING FUN
>STOP BEING EXCITED

no

That's what I don't really understand, why would someone think that a game with a similar name to a game that came out 11 years ago possibly have anything near the same quality?

I mean, you can almost say that about just every every "popular" series currently existing right now, but...

Yea, but people are using that mentality to outright buy a $300 console that they're going to resell less than 6 months after anyway...

Watching people play the E3 demo for Zelda is what sold it for me
It's not hard to judge a game from it's footage and people's reactions to it.

lol what kind of impatient retard would sell a console after 6 months of owning it

Like, just wait nigga games are on their way. You don't need that $100 store credit from Gamestop that badly lol

That's assuming the worst though, which I notice is a running theme around here.

I'm a civil servant and I make double that shit. kys senpai

Also I'm still not buying that shitty ass console. Zelda hasn't been relevant since oot.

That's why it's still alive, right?

Low framerate, shallow battle system, rolling a rock down a hill to trigger pre-programed enemies to die in a certain order, having enemies stand all around an explosive barrel so all you have to do is fire one shot, a wolf amibo that gives you tactical advantages (paying to win). Nintendoh doesn't care about making a good game, they only want to fill it with bright colors and set-peices to dazzle simple minds while trying to squeeze the wallets dry of the last remaining true fans. The Switch is in all honesty DOA, it's too pricey, the games will be few and too expensive and the Switch will not sell enough units to justify creating games for it. This is their last console, they will lose tens of millions, all because they just couldn't get it or didn't listen. RIP Nintendon't, you had a good run. PC gaming and indie devs here we come.

I like Mario and Zelda, and I'm sure monster hunter and other worthwhile games will pop up.

If not, well fuck it, I'll wait til they hack it, it's not like I buy any other consoles.

Scalpers

Literally only because I like that new console smell and I want it sooner rather than later.

It's the probably choice, that's why when game actually are good and deliver, this board literally does not stop talking about them for years, because they still can't fucking believe good games can still be made.

It looks fun

I'm sticking to the one week rule; see what the word is, then decide whether to buy it or not.

Pre-ordering is for suckers.

I been looking for a 3ds xl for like 2 months and every one is above 300 when msrp is 200. I don't wanna have to go through that with the switch too

After one week the consoles will all be sold out. so you'll have to wait another 6+ weeks.

Nintendo is gonna undertstock this just like the mini NES.

Okay even if that happened, why can't you wait a month for when they do restock and you find out all the hardware malfunctions?

Because it is a win either way either
A: Console is shit. Sell it for higher than the cost to buy it.
B: Not so bad of a console.

All things aside can we agree that the Wii U actually has a fantastic library and BotW is just icing on the cake at this point?

>understocking a launch console
Mate

>preordering
>preordering a CONSOLE
my pessimism grows

They've already confirmed there's limited quantities on preorders. They're going to understock the console itself to further drive up hype and demand for the console.

>new Mario and Zelda look incredible

>the new features of the controller give me an excuse to get rid of my 3DS

>no region lock

>motherfucking SMT V
>motherfucking Xenoblade 2
>motherfucking Spla2oon

I'll admit the paid online after a free year is very upsetting though.

Still, the question is how the fuck did Nintendo manage to blow Sony/Microsoft out of the water with a system launch while PS4/Xbone have been out for years? How the fuck are they so incompetent right now?

Competition used to be healthy now they're getting beat down and Nintendo is swinging the hammer.

>Were none of you around for the Wii U launch?
I bought a N64 at launch, and so on, and you know what happened? I had fun.

The real question is where is my GODDAMN Metroid

user I pre ordered the switch and even I can see you're a bad shill. Sony is a cancer of a company but they do have games on their system right now, more than switch will at launch.

What the fuck is a Metroid

Having worked in console QA pre-launch I will never buy a console at launch. Add in the fact that it only has a couple confirmed launch titles I'll wait.

I don't care if others preorder though. They help pay for the updated version I'll be getting later.

They wouldnt do that to an actually important product. The NES mini was just some cheap shit. And dont say they did it to the wii, that had shortage because it sold fast as fuck.

Right like Bloodborne and uhh...?

That being said Bloodborne is a fantastic game, but one game isn't enough to justify a system purchase.

I'll have my GF pay for it. :3
Just for Zelda and Mario odissey I considere it to be a fair deal, as I work and haven't much time to play vidya.

>not old enough to remember the wii launch

wew lad

Its dead and they buried it next to F Zero.

Nah i think they've pussied out hard enough on the switch to guarantee them at least another handheld.
If the switch fails then in 2 years they could release a 3DS 2 with the switch's SoC but on 10nm or even 7nm if they want to be fancy.
It could then have the library of the 3ds and switch in one device on launch. throw some pokemons on that and it should at least keep nintendo profitable for a few more years.

And Mother.

They didnt understock that. It sold waaay more than anyone expected. The N64 was kinda understocked though (and it got wrecked).

bloodborne plus the naughty dog games is why I bought it myself. P5 is looking pretty good too.

Switch WILL have games if only the first party ones, that will rival sony's exclusives but to say sony has fewer good games right now is just retarded.

>Sonydrones and Xbots suffered through lackluster launches for their respective consoles
>they still have the guts to open threads like this
They have like zero self awareness. Remember when people shittalked the graphics of a multiplat game for Wii U just to realize they just saw PS3 footage? Think it was a CoD game.

I have nothing better to spend my money on and I feel superior to others when I can talk about a platform before others are willing to commit.

I own a Vive too. Dont buy one.

I mean, I never buy consoles when they launch.

And the Wii was something else man. At least in the UK demand outstripped demand by a margin Nintendo will probably never replicate.

;-;

fair tbqhwyf

Zelda, Splatoon 2, Disgaea 5 Complete and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe early on is enough to convince me to get it early, especially with Mario and others coming later.

Additionally a couple people owe me like £200 and want to pay me back and the timing is pretty convenient for them to put it towards that.

The PS4 only has one game if you already have a PC or something.
the PC xbone and PS4 are basically all the same console this gen sharing a nearly identical library bar like 2 or 3 decent games in total.
The Wii U and switch on the other hand is in the corner on it's own. Now if you want to go PC + Switch, that's fine and it's a perfectly legitimate combination to go with as you're only really missing out on bloodborne and whatever else from the vast array of like 3 exclusive the xbone and ps4 have but you have a PC (i'm jumping to a conclusion here if you'll excuse that) so you've already bought "The non-nintendo console" all the consumers that are lapping up ps4s and xboxs are just people who are choosing another way to get "the non-nintendo console"
Nintendo has the daunting task ahead of them of both convincing those who already have the non-nintendo console to also get the nintendo console and convince people who have no current gen consoles to get the nintendo console over the non-nintendo console which has every game released in the last 4 years to show for it and then some if you go with PC

I would preorder only if they had splatoon 2 on launch. Ill wait till the summer.

Why do you people actually have discussions as if Bloodborne is literally the only game on PS4? Like I get it if you're just shitposting but you both seem to be actually trying to have a discussion - so why is Bloodborne the one specific game that counts?

I'm not going to sit here rolling off a list of Sony games, but do realise that "games worth buying a system for" is a subjective concept and that plenty of people may think that about PS4 games that aren't Bloodborne. Gravity Rush 2 is far more important to me than Bloodborne, for example, and I'm sure plenty of people care about Uncharted 4 (I don't, but I recognise other people do).

Peer pressure.
I can't say I like a game Sup Forums likes or my argument is immediately invalid.

You type like a third world underager. You definitely do not have a job.

Ah, but you see, we were talking about games. Not movies. Seriously, I can see why people like Uncharted but buying a console for it?

Speaking of preorders did Amazon already do theirs for US?

1. Because I want to play Zelda on Switch and I don't want to double dip
2. Because I'm being honest here when I say I fully expect this shit to be similar to Wii shortages.

Wait for E3
Retro has been working on a Switch title for 3 years now. It's obviously going to be their center stage E3 announcement.

>I fully expect this shit to be similar to Wii shortages.

this.

Amazon is already sold out. I ordered mine on bestbuy and they're still not sold out so now Im scared they won't have stock cuz they oversold their expected stock.

Amazon and Gamestop usually don't put up their full stock on day 1 of pre-orders, so they can roll more out in coming weeks. It's the same method Nintendo uses when it comes to stocking products low to create artificial shortages, except in this case it's to boost pre-orders from between now and launch, while spreading out their sales across a number of months (which makes financial reports look much better and much less dependent on a single event).

Best buy tends to just put it all up for pre-order at once.
The only time they ever oversold their stock was back with the Wii, which basically just meant that pre-orders then got theirs 1-2 weeks later as more stock arrived (they were still given priority over normal customers, and normal customers couldn't get Wiis from bestbuy until that store ran out of pre-orders). It was a huge PR hit towards them though so I doubt they'll do it again.

Best Buy is already out it seems. Can't do instore or online

oh now they are. a few minutes ago you could still pick shipping but now it forces store pick up and there are no stores to pick from

Best buy actually is sold out for their online orders, it's the in store pickups that aren't.
It's because best buy uses a different system from Gamestop. Gamestop has X number of Switches online, and X number of Switches in store. If you pre-order from them online, regardless of whether you choose in store or delivery, you're taking one from their online Switches. You have to go to the store itself to pre-order from that specific store's pre-designated stock.
After X amount of time, if certain stores are underperforming in pre-orders, they'll remove a number of the unpre-ordered consoles from that store's planned shipment, and put them up for pre-order online.

Best Buy does things a bit differently.
When you pre-order online, if you choose the option to have it shipped it takes from their online stock. If you choose to have it be picked up in store, it can go from their online stock or from that specific store's stock. So, in some cases, there are some areas of the US where you'd still be able to pick up a Switch in store from bestbuy online.

As is though, Best Buy is entirely sold out of their online stock, and out of most in store stocks as well.
I've been saying it for a couple months but this is legitimately going to sell like hotcakes.

Mother ended you retard.

>Being old enough to remember the Wii u launch but choosing not to

wew lad

>trigger pre-programed enemies to die in a certain order
This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen posted. It isn't scripted. You could even stumble upon that group without even being near that boulder.

>there are those of us who think this show was more or less the best thing eve
>we all popped off
>kay bye

you have to be a nigger if you make posts like this

Which sucks because I'd rather give money to best buy for sweet rewards certificates. I had to preorder from Gamestop

I'm going to buy one eventually anyway so I might as well play Zelda on the switch instead of the Wii U.

Welp I just woke up, I couldn't preorder on amazon but gamestop allowed me to preorder no problem. Which sucks cause I hate gamestop.

>so I might as well play Zelda on the switch instead of the Wii U.
why?
there's no graphical difference

>paying for something physical before its release to ensure you actually receive the product on the day it is released is somehow worse than paying for something digital before it is released that can't sell out

I wish I'd bought it on gamestop. bestbuy charges 20 bucks for tax, gamestop charges like 3 bucks.

...

I travel a lot for work.

I like Nintendo games.

I was watching this with a friend and we were like, "Man, Nintendo is fucking finished."

Should I trade-in my Wii U towards the Switch?

...

I don't know WHAT the fuck is wrong with the NA launch lineup, but Japans launch is looking fine.

I was shocked GameStop.com charged so little for tax. Got day-1 shipping and it's cheaper than Amazon.

Honestly I think the smartest choice of when to buy a Switch is after we see Nintendo's presentation at E3. That's when I plan on getting mine, and at least there'll be more than a single game out by that time.

I'm not a poor spic like most of Sup Forums
