Thoughts on Pokemon XD?

I played this game all the time when I was younger

What are your guys' thoughts on it? Did you play this or like it? It seemed like a forgotten game in the Pokemon franchise and a forgotten game in the Gamecube library.

Seriously, it was a tournament esque game but I enjoyed being able to snatch the shadow pokemon and purify them to get my own party. It's been a while since we had a spin off Pokemon on the consoles and we could see a game that branches off into yet another piece of the world with the Switch being announced.
