Where did they mention that you can communicate using the switch. Please show me where they said this. Because I can show on their official website where they mention only the PAID phone app.
Nintendo going out of step with the competition is the problem here.
For Sony and Microsoft, it was not that bad that they had less than stellar launches, because the competition wasn't exactly outdoing them.
Nintendo is releasing a less powerful system long after everyone else, and it's pricing seems excessive in comparison to the types of bundles that PS4 and Xbox One are in now.

Well they were £199.99. The same bundle is no longer on offer so its £249.99. Which is still better value than a Switch
The problem is not the price of this thing but nintendo being retarded with their hardware launch dates. It would've been fine if it was released alongside the PS4/Xbox one. Those consoles are in the middle of their life cycle though, have plenty of games already and are cheaper than the switch.
I'll be going PS4 eventually as a Britbong to go along with my PC.
I was hoping for 200 and a MH mention but now we have paid online, No MH and a 280 bong price tag.

You do know that R&C and Overwatch are both not PS4 launch titles. OP obviously means that they must've been on sale recently for that price. Also the PS4 launch is years ago, Nintendo is only now dropping their new console. It's fine to compare their launch titles and prices, but nintendo isn't magically traveling back in time to launch the switch back when the PS4 launched, it's going to launch the switch in a time where you get much more value by picking the PS4 over the switch.
How expensive is it in Euros? It seems expensive in pounds but I'm wondering if that's because of Brexit.
