you lied to me bros, you told me this game was comfy, but instead it's a miserable struggle just to even maintain a steady level of resources
You lied to me bros, you told me this game was comfy...
you expected a game looking like that to be comfy
Edit game files then
This
I've never played it but it's called Darkest Dungeon what the fuck did you expect op
you bought the game, the dlc shills already got what they wanted
get fucked OP
>told me it was comfy
...what?
get good also torches are mostly useless
>miserable struggle just to even maintain a steady level of resources
Human life is literally infinite and expandable in the game. What's your problem? Just send the idiots in there and don't let them out unless they have a handful of treasure.
>torches are mostly useless
explain?
how
It's very grindy towards the end.
They are working on a more easier mode though.
Not that user but...
Torches provide surprise and less stress, sure, but in the dark you get more crits and more loot. In short dungeons especially being in the dark is more profitable.
Forgot to say: Torches also provide scouting but that is not relevant in short dungeons either.
More arrive foolishly seeking fortune and glory in this Game... Of the damned.
I've tried a few no torch runs and they always end horribly. Maybe I wasn't as good at the game then, I dunno.
You need to understand that light is a luxury you give only to guys you care about. And you should not care about your guys until you think they are ready to tackle a boss. Otherwise it's a "get in, get loot, get fucked, then return and get dismissed".
Bumping thread with some info
How do I use curio's properly? I'm just hanging around the ruins because I get absolutely fucked anywhere else and holy water works on most things so I always carry plenty of that. Is there anything I can bring that makes books less likely to fuck me over?
I think the bottom area unlocks second but those mushroom men are really fucking me up from all the blight and disease.
Almost every curio has chance to give nothing, good result or bad result. However if you use certain items, like skeleton key, they give 100% positive result.
Meanwhile such thing as shallow grave gives only bad results unless you use a shovel on it.
Also books; don't. Just don't. Scrolls are okay but steer clear of books. Trust me.
There can be no hope in this game....
No hope at all....
Alright, going to stay well away from books.
Also I was just skimming through this altar and ended up in a fight with the shambler. He didn't seem too bad but the little guys he summons hit like a truck and my party had almost no damage so we got wiped out entirely after an excruciatingly long fight.
Normally you can run away but I couldn't do anything about this guy. Is he special or are you locked into all the mini-boss encounters? The collector showed up the other day but I didn't even think to run because he didn't stand a chance against my level 0 team.
Go back to COD.
Shambler is one of the hardest enemies in the game but guarantees an ancestral trinket drop if you beat him. Good fucking luck fighting him.
Skip all the fucking curios without the key item. See the faggots in your group that open them without asking?
Gazillion of other Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders on top of that. Fear not to dismiss useless people;
>Another soul battered and broken, cast aside like a spent torch.
Then I guess it was pretty lucky to run into an alter like that.
So far the trinkets I've found have been pretty bad but when they're good they're really good. Like an extra 30% chance to stun and extra accuracy on my plague doctor is pretty incredible when it comes to destroying corpses and disrupting the back row troublemakers.
I swear to Nyarlathotep my antiquarian just had tits, while going selfish due to affliction.
Antiquarian going selfish is a frigging group killer.
"You need me to count the gold!"
Even worse banter than canadians and 'strayans put together.
Fucking bitch. Every turn. Worse than an Abomination transforming back and forth.
One bitching fucker can ruin the mood of an entire party. Especially from the early on.
Fuck!
Get your minions well fed and their blue balls/waffles relieved.
> vvulf dungeon
> bandits with blanket fire now deals stress damage to everyone
> almost 50 fucking dodge
> almost 30 hp
Do the developers just expect you to luck the fuck out with virtue rolls in this event or what? What the fuck are you even supposed to do here with a carefully built level 6 party?
>when your entire party goes 100 stress
I open everything I encounter.
I thought you are supposed to open everything.
Do not ruminate on this fleeting failure - the campaign is long, and victory will come.
Torches are a bonus to scouting and surprising the monsters.
From 51-100% light you have these buffs in effect.
From 50-0% light you gain increased chance to crit and increased loot drops.
Enemies gain increased damage, all stress gained is increased, and the party itself has an increased chance to be surprised by enemies.
Dark runs are not for the faint of heart and not for long dungeons. Just doing dark runs in general is risky solely for the fact you'll almost never scout out traps unless you took a Houndmaster with his scouting trinket.
Personally I've not found Dark Runs to be particularly worthwhile because I have enough trouble as it is not throwing out loot by the time I finish the quest.
Especially with the advent of the Anitquarian I find it quite easy to pocket 15-20k per dungeon and come out with little to no stress damage.
Yeah Antiquarian runs are rough just because I have to decide what's worth keeping. I'm the one stressing out over keeping lesser gems that I might find more of or greater gems that I only have one of. Not that it matters because a single easymode dungeon might net as much as 14k gold and 20-40 crests/keys/busts
>They all become virtuous and proceed to purge the enemy with righteous fury
>tfw I have had like 1 virtuous roll in my curret 60+ weeks run
Granted I know to keep the stress from reaching 100 by now so there hasn't been many chances.
