I still haven't beaten the first game but I have the sequel on preorder.

Before you bitch at me, I preordered it because I got $25 off $100 at Best Buy by using Visa Checkout and there wasn't anything I wanted to buy that was already out.

Haven't BEATEN. I have the game, it's just still en bloc.

You can honestly run through the first game in about 10 hours or so if you don't do any of the side shit.

Most of the races in GR were easy and fun, though.

There are races but you race against a ghost copy of Kat.
Still timed though.

I can't think of a single side race that I didnt get gold on the first try.

Im going to assume its because the GR2 environment is a lot more detailed with a lot more going on.

I actually prefer the blue sky and 2nd's astetic to the Batman Animated series Red sky of the firstg game, the frame rate is dissapointing though.

I really liked the distant watercolor fading cityscapes in the original. but i think this lends itself better to new locations. the asteroid mining camp in the beginning looks crazy. i just wish the pop-in wasn't so noticeable. the shadows cast by the signs appearing on buildings bothered me a little while playing the demo

That's a bad trade off though, pretty much everything except the physics is worse and we didn't need physics.

And the blue sky makes anyone under a shadow turn blue which looks like a bug. Plus most of GR2 doesn't have that blue sky anyway, looks just like the first game with strange colors going on.

The buildings were the coolest part for me, they felt like actual buildings instead of copy-paste houses all with gables. There was at least one in the demo where, if you ran around the back, has a climbable fire escape. Pretty neat touch.
