Nintendo are a trash-garbage company. What's new?
sucks but I can't say I care too much really
>Literally the worst paid online service out of all the consoles
I bet the switch still won't have party chat either.
It's a "flavor of the month" deal
Did you honestly fucking expect you'd be able to get a free game per month and hoard them?
Who the fuck offers that
Of course it will! Through the mobile phone app.
>I bet the switch still won't have party chat either.
There's no chat client, you literally have to use a separate mobile device altogether.
PSN
Xbox live
So y'know both the main competitors.
No it will, but you literally have to use a smartphone.
Good thing Nintendo doesn't really make third party chat a necessity for its multiplayer I guess.
Sony and Microsoft.
>Who the fuck offers that
Literally everyone else?
The only way they can save this is if it's cheap
unlikely
I can do that with PS+ and XBL Gold. Even if I don't have room for the games, I can just select to add the license to my account and download it later.
Who's this ?
Aren't the "free" monthly games just NES/SNES titles, anyway?
And are those free games on the same level as Mario, metroid, f zero, etc.
No
Sony isn't giving you Spyro the dragon next month for free to keep
Microsoft isn't giving you halo 1 next month for free to keep
FAKE NEWS
THIS PERSON IS A KNOWN LIAR
Literally every other competitor. Xbox offers two current gen games and up to two 360 games, EVERY MONTH, that you can keep so long as you have the service. If you ditch the service and sign up again later they will be available to you still.
PSN offers something very similar.
Heck you can do the humble bundle subscription and get more content to keep that is better than what Nintendo is rolling out for this system.
Which makes it shittier and even more baffling that Nintendo won't just give them to you. They're not valuable in the first place yet they still force you to buy them.
Better be like $10 a month
does nintendo realize that raspberry/retro pies are a thing?
Wow, the same games that have been emulated for decades. This deal is literally zero value added
Fucking Rocket League was free. Even the shittiest of indie games is several notches above fucking NES games. You're a retard.
I'm mad that I have to pay to play online.
I probably won't even touch these shitty NES rentals. Just let me play my games and stop gouging my ass.
HAHAHA!!!! NINTENDRONES BTFO!!!!!
JUSTIFY IT!!! GO ON I FUCKING DARE YOU!!
Wew lad. They're literally charging you for shit you can boot up on an emulator in seconds. Both Spyro and Halo have also been part of the free games on those services too fucking kek.
I rather keep those shitty Indies they offer than renting shit I could emulate on my microwave
AHAHAHAHAHA
Sony andf MS you stupid nintencuck.
In fact, MS is actually the best at this because they offer both Xbone AND 360 games.
Unless Nintendo steps up this program to include gamecube, neo geo, n64 games, etc this is pathetics even just for monehtly rental
I get this is bait but this console is so fucking bad even if you like Nintendo like me you just need to embrace the schadenfreude my man
Sony offers PS3, PS4, and Vita games.
>$120 a year
PSN is $60 yearly user
you're right
sony/microshit offer triple A game offers (microsoft moreso)
nintendo, instead, is offering 20 year old roms you already have on your phone. what A DEAL!!
>They're not valuable in the first place
The NES Classic and Virtual Console say otherwise. Nintendo is well aware that millions of people are willing to throw $5 at ancient games to relive nostalgia.
>emulator argument
Nice playing with y'all but I'll take my leave here
Picked up REmake like two months ago for free
It's a cool idea, I actually think that's the way to go as opposed to trying to offer wii/wiiu/gamecube games or whatever, offering VC games is a great way to get people to buy this shit, because there's a boatload of top name, quality titles. Limiting to a month is a fucking huge misstep and hopefully they change that to be permanent or a period like a year so it's not as big of a deal, or if they're unwilling to do even that, at least give you a fucking discount on that month's games.
not all available for the same console though.
nice trolling
don't believe this bullcrap
Why on would they do it this way? Are they stupid? It's directly comparable and therefore objectively inferior to competitors and those are already scams. Seriously fuck MS for making paying for mp something normal.
I wonder if that one autist who has been arguing about this will show up in this thread.
Heh not so fast *teleports in front of you*
Halo 3 was free.
Dunno why I was thinking monthly.
Scratch that then, hope its $20-30 a year
Well Sony has given a lot of shit throughout the years like the entire Uncharted Trilogy + that Vita Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Metal Gear Solid GZ, some Vanillaware titles, Dishonored, Bamham stuff
And you can play all the shit hoard for as long as you stay subscribed and recover it if you unsub and sub later.
>What's that? You wanted to play more?
>Well, just go ahead and buy the ROM for $10 a pop! :^)
Trash deal. They need to update it, because who gives a fuck about some classic game everyone and their mother could emulate for free?
Might as well do what Sony and the Boner does by letting you keep the game as long as you're a member.
That would be a massive scam
I have arkham asylum, deus ex human revolution, bioshok infinite, ico and SotC HD, Demons souls, Vanquish, megaman 9 and 10, dragons dogma and others waiting in my ps3 backlog thanks to ps plus
Sure plus is shit now, but the switch thing doesnt look any better
>PlayStation Plus lets you play the free games forever as long as you are still paying for Plus
>"lololo fucking Sony. good goyims buy PS+ please!"
>Nintendo only lets you play the free games for 1 month, no matter how long you pay for the service
>"praise Nintendo!"
Here is a complete list: tekrevue.com
Some, not all, of those games have been every bit as good as what Nintendo has put out. And they are all 360 or XBox One gen games. I don't see Nintendo running out to put Wii U and Switch games on this service.
Don't be such a blatant fanboy homer over this aspect of the Switch. It is borderline insulting to anyone who has had a console outside of the Wii/Wii U in the last decade. If Nintendo wants to implement this practice that's fine. But I'm not paying for it and neither should you.
I really hope you're that faggot from the last thread who was adamantly saying they will let you keep the decades old games you've played a hundred times before.
Just stop posting, your mom wouldn't be happy with you.
>Wii U
>lost the casual audience, try to keep your dedicated fanbase
>Switch
>casual audience isn't even looking, lose the dedicated fanbase
Am I living in Bizarro world? Literally every thread is shitposters screaming FUCK NINTENDO
Just played Contra. All I had to do was write "Contra" in Google. Feels good to live in 2017.
I suppose it's something. If paid online is £2 a month or around that then maybe it's a decent deal.
They usually put new titles up at a glacial pace though, so there won't be much to play. I can't understand excluding N64 games, it has been about 20 years.
Nintendo's plan to get into the online paid service scene is to implement a system that would be outdated and mocked even if it came out alongside the 360 and PS3.
I couldn't care less about console war nonsense but this is honestly baffling to me, what the actual fuck is wrong with their executive team that they're so consistently 10 steps behind the market, then questioning why they're performing below expectations?
Like 90% of the time they are because of crossbuy. It's pretty rare that a game doesn't have it or they go for straight exclusives.
why do they call it the switch? because when you see their prices your interests switch over to one of their competitors.
>"free" demo
This is next level jewry
I wanted this thing to fail and Nintendo listened to me. Stop being salty that they didn't listen to you instead.
That's fucking terrible.
That's the complete opposite of what people wanted.
People have been asking for a VC subscription services for years and THIS is what they're doing instead? Fucking hell.
you do realize that the switch will be able to run snes games because of emulation
I'll honestly cancel my order if that was the rate.
Or just never touch online.
I'm all for praising some of the games for the Switch but even I think this shit is retarded.
I've always been under the impression that Nintendo thinks in businessman terms. They aren't selling old ROMs that everyone can emulate and play on their computer. They're selling one of the world's biggest IPs and Trademarks, which is worth a market value of 'x' amount. To pay $5 for an old NES game is surely a steal when your IP is worth so much money on paper.
Truth is it probably costs them nothing to offer these games to you, so even a thousand people who do buy these things is $5k in profit.
At this point I hope some of them are falseflagging. Do people actually believe they get something out of such a deal? NES games aren't even that good.
>That faggot using google translate and other machine translations to try and prove you kept the games
>shitposters
>are telling the truth
I'm glad sonyniggers are getting you back for this bullshit. Nintendrone damage control is real.
Will this bullshit be retrofitted to the WiiU or is it impossible?
Complete gibberish.
There is no way Nintendo is going to charge this cheap. Pokemon Bank is already around 10 bucks per year, they aren't going to price something way more useful at the same price point.
Top Nintendo scientists have discovered that $7 is the perfect amount to charge for 30 year old games. Going into double digits has the disadvantage of making people realize they are being ripped off, but $7 is still "throwaway" money for most people. Having it free for a month allows memories to slip past grandpa's Alzheimer's long enough for nostalgia to form, reminding him of that weekend he rented Bionic Commando with his lunch money. It's a money printing scheme that will work.
I don't understand how they can fuck up this badly. What is the downside of letting you subscribers keep their shitty NES/SNES games? Do they actually think people will purchase them in droves after the fact? It's downright insulting and from a business-sense retarded. There is NOTHING about the Switch's online that will keep people paying.
Spla2n is not the next Halo/Overwatch/CoD. They have literally nothing to entice a player to stay subscribed with.
You know, people shit on the phone thing, but it makes more sense to tie voice chat to a device that everyone on the planet owns rather than a third party or over priced first party add on that costs and extra $50.
>Nintendrone
But I'm PC. I literally come to these threads to call out sony shills only because I hate you subhumans.
As someone who isn't a consolefag, how is this different from PS+ or Xbox Live? Don't they only get to play the "free" game for the month that it's available? Isn't that why games rotate in and out every month?
Its okay. Same as PS+ really.
But since they're classics it looks like the service is made for older existing loyal fans.
I only see "LOL POORFAGS" shitposters defending this garbage. On Sup Forums, anyway.
What fucking system doesn't let you use a $10 microphone to chat in-game?
>same as PS+
No, with that you can keep the game after it's "free" And it's usually more than one fucking game.
>Every game on PC has free online.
>Every console game wants lots of money.
Why tho? The games are already more expensive.
You can play every acquired game as long as you have an active subscription.
Probably not, but that's the only way I would consider it a reasonable deal.
>SwitchU
>dedicated fanbase isn't even looking, hardcore gaming crowd rushes to fill the void
It's the perfect plan.
what's more disturbing is the fact people were confused by what he said, and he thought he was being unclear.
Nintenyearolds is not just a meme, friends.
The problem is that it's clear that Nintendo is not improving their online systems if they require you to use a separate device entirely for voice chat, and if I'm already using my phone I'm going to use Discord or something that doesn't fucking suck ass than Nintendo's proprietary bullshit app.
3ds and Wii U will remain online free.
I'm saying that businessmen don't think "I'm going to release a great product everyone enjoys" this day and age. They think, "I'm going to exploit a brand and people will buy my product because it's recognizable brand."
>how is this different from PS+ or Xbox Live?
For starters, they let you keep the games
>people actually fall for a falseflag this bad
That's the one! I wish I could see the look on his face right now.
>Why tho
You can thank Microsoft for introducing it and Sony for popularizing it and making perfectly acceptable. Thank you MS and Sony
No, they get those games permanently so long as they're a paying member. The new games are just that, new games to add to the library. It's a case of Nintendo's version being objectively worse by a huge margin.
So if someone had a subscription when the "free" games were introduced they could play those games right now if they still kept renewing?
>its falseflagging guys!
Pathetic
Yes.
A lot of the titles offered easily made up the subscription price too.
i can go to a KAT and download the entire SNES and NES library in under a hour (and i can actually use them on more than 1 device), with more controller options, mods, fan translations and graphic settings than anything on the Switch.
but apparently nintendo is so generous for giving me those same games with less options
>use your own phone for voice chat
>the app will cost money after a few months
Why not just use the free skype app? Or call them thru whatsapp? If it has to be on a phone, why does nintendo have to be the middleman, and have the audacity to ask for money?
Nobody will pay for this garbage
