Is it dead?
I forgot about this. What the fuck happened in the last four years?
nothing good.
Bloodborne was ok I guess
uh well they put out the most popular western rpg in a decade and made a fucking billion dollars. Making the witcher 3 and taking the time away from cyberpunk was the smartest investment they could have made. This game isnt going to come out, but when it does it will be a package of lessons about what does and doesn't work based on what they learned from the witcher. Be patient and i promise you'll be rewarded.
Same thing that happened to Beyond Good and Evil 2
>This game isnt going to come out, but when it does
You know, before reading this, I was in a state of thoughtless zen. But my eyes were drawn by the above words and once again thought flowed through me.
It will come in 2021
Video games take time to develop. CDPR probably regrets even announcing the game because of people thinking it's dead.

I'm pretty sure they're working on it now, considering they're completely done with Witcher 3 and it's DLC
That's a tricky way of saying "never"
Can't you read user?
It clearly says 2077, that's when it's releasing.
This was just a teaser to get you amped up, you didn't think it was something silly like part of the title did you?
Has there ever been a game with a long development cycle that actually turned out good?
oooohh boyyy can't wait for god like graphics, good dialogue and every piece of interactivity to be completely mediocre or downright bad! oooh maan
Every GTA title.

years since PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
I honestly thought it was much longer. Because look at this shit:
2010
2011
2012
2013
2014
2015
2016
2017
No, I was at cdpr in warsaw a couple months ago they pretty much said they took sum resources just to get gwent done as fast as possible then they can focus 100% on cyberpunk
Hundreds. Long development cycle is good.
I'll get back to you when Toady dies and Dwarf Fortress is considered finished.
Let it go. It's vaporware. It's not a meme, it's been 4 years without a single word. The game is dead. Move on.
Freelancer.
It WILL come out.
There are some unclear messages from CD Project Red studio about this game, but i think it will come like in September this year
The average length of development time for AAA games is on average 2 to 3 years, 4 years for at the most. Because I'm old and know this (water is wet, the sun shines). I know that it isn't dead. You're just impatient.
Witcher 3
They clearly said they were going to develop new tech before jumping into the game and that the soonest you'd see any real info was gonna be 2018
They should shelve it until Next gen
PS4/Xbone are too weak
>it's been 4 years without a single word.
>4years
>without a single world
user, I...
They fucking should. Announcing games before development has even begun is retarded and shouldn't happen.
>game of the millenium so far
>ok
I used google because I'm not as stupid as you.
gamenguide.com
If it's 3rd person I won't buy it
The Witcher 3 and its expansions happened, god bless them
>Is retarded
Only because there are loads of retards that think games get developed in two years.
>what is deus ex
good, go eat some slop faggot.
First person?
I would actually prefer if they didn't say anything and then announce a shit ton of info and gameplay trailers etc and then a release date which is literally 2 months after.
how the fuck old are you?
Is this some abstract meme I don't understand? Deus Ex has always been first person.
...
No need to be upset because I don't like 3rd person garbage
If you want a first person cyberpunk game, go play deus ex like every other normal faggot.
Underrated
>I'm going out of my way to prove you right!
Thanks I guess?
E3 2017
Never say never
Duke Nukem Forever was released
Last Guardian was released
Final Fantasy XV was released
this will happen, maybe
How can a trailer possibly be expected to convey any meaningful notion of the product before even a team is assembled? Is it reasonable to build hype when the release date is more than 6 years off (Cyberpunk 2077 was announced 4 years before development began, and as you said, only a retard would expect it to take less than 2 to make).
>Before even a team is assembled
I don't know, ask Kojima.
>Is it reasonable to build hype
Is it not reasonable to announce what you're working on next?
gamerant.com
This is old news
>How can a trailer possibly be expected to convey any meaningful notion of the product before even a team is assembled
Worked for Kojima, just replace "a team" with gameplay or proof of concept
The trailer was an advertisement to get staff ready for the game. It wasn't even past the concept stage in 2012 and was likely left on the backburner while they focused on the Witcher series.
Regardless, if they want this game to be a true representation of the original game, it's going to take a long fucking time. They have to account for the world, all of the various bodily modifications, the job system etc.
there has been a lot of fuss in the media last 2 months
>They have to account for the world, all of the various bodily modifications, the job system etc
how will you feel if it's just Deus Ex by Slavs or Divine Cybermancy but dumbed down for consoletards
>no gameplay
Why the fuck
They are currently fighting off a bid by my.com to buy them.
All development is on hold until this is settled.
they probably gradualy switched staff uselles in late stages of game development from Witcher to Cyberpunk.
I'll be fucking furious.
I swear to God if there's some gay main quest where your job is nothing more than a class I'm going to be pissed. If I choose to be a corporate assassin I better be going around doing shady shit for the sake of megacorps making more profit.
>If I choose to be a corporate assassin I better be going around doing shady shit for the sake of megacorps making more profit.
You just reminded me of Reboot Syndicate.
its my worry too. Witcher 3 is pretty dumbed down, but its not an adaptation of PNP.
My dream would be at least VTMB level character sheet
>They are currently fighting off a bid by my.com to buy them.
God help us.
how do you 'fight off' a bid to buy you? what does it entail beyond a flat 'no'? I know it happens but im curious as to what it actually means
>cisquisition launched on 18/11/2014
>>w3 launched exactly 182 days (6 months) later
>andromeda launches on 21/03/2017
>add 182 days and you get 19/09/2017 which is a tuesday
really makes you think
link?
if this is really happening i am going to start rallying people so it doesn't happen
fuck this if i have to i'll start organizing people so we buy GOG instead
we must keep it pure
last guardian
they just got $7m from Polish gov to work on Cyberpunk 2077, they are hiring and increasing staff number almost twicefold
They got money from the government to work on a separate city simulation project, not C2077.
I can't find anything, sounds fake.
>Is it not reasonable to announce what you're working on next?
Keyword here is "next". They announced it while they were still in the middle of vanilla W3.
They should have anounced it mid B&W development.
They had no other choice, they were ending geralts story in Witcher 3 and needed a project to show the world they were branching off. Odds are they have several projects in the works now, Witcher 2 and 3 made them a ton of money to expand
They need a great deal of money to buy back stocks.
They are vulnerable to a hostile takeover until they do.
They were advertising jobs for Cyberpunk 2077 on their Twitter a while back. Vehicles specialists or designers or something. They had a pretty decent animation of a Tron-looking motorcycle accompanying it. So the games still in development.
Witcher 3 with Dark Souls combat would be pure Ludo
Shame it has Arkham combat, doesn't look bright for Cyberpunk
They are a publicly traded corporation in Poland, they have to convince investors that it's a bad move
NO. IT'S NOT
QUIT STIRRING SHIT YOU FUCKING FAGGOT
IT'LL BE READY WHEN IT'S DONE.
Fuck.
I want this so bad. I'm so tired of all these formulaic tripe around.
If you can convince 50% +1 share to sell the company gets sold.
Whoever is trying this doesn't have to own that much just convince enough shareholders to reach that threshold.
From what I understand CDProjekt itself does not own 50% +1 currently and that is what they are working on.
Why?
Because you say so?
>it's been 4 fucking years
HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK
Eat shit
They got money to work on many different systems that will be used in their upcoming titles.
I legitimately can't tell, are the retards that make these posts pretending to know nothing about video game development, or are they legitimately this stupid?
Because what you keep seeing all the time. "Is it dead?" "Shovelware", and so on.
What's the point of marketing something in the middle of another marketing campaign?
If they announced it during B&W we would get it in a few years. Now the wait will add up to like 8 years.
Basically someone buys enough shares that they become a majority shareholder and have a say in who runs the company. There's a shit ton of ways to combat this, like poison pills and what not.
But 2077 is just going to be The Witcher 3 with a sci fi skin overtop of it.
You can expect some horrible explanation for why guns are out of common use too. "Oh, well cyborgs react so quickly that they can dodge bullets anyway. That's why we use super sharp laserblades against them."
What the fuck. Look at Furi, for example. An almost objectively better game.
Other than the visual presentation, it does the same things better.
but user surely your life has entirely changed since then?
forgot to quote
Fuck you
>seven millions
>a significant sum of money
LMAO.
Thats the budget for voice acting in good games.
Seven millions is enough to pay five more people for that five year period.
The trailer was precisely meant to attract prospective team members
For a AAA dev in the US the size of CDProjekt that could be 2 or 3 mos operating cost.
I don't know how it translates into potato though.
It doesn't translate into potato. CDPR are a big and popular company, and they have to pay competitive wages to not bleed specialists to EA and Activation.
They may pay less for rent and heating, and to the janitors and security, but all the developers and artists are getting a San Francisco salary.
>EA or Activision
>Stealing Poles
You have no idea what you're speaking of.
it's worth ten times that in poland you dummy
they have slave labour
>implying the release date isn't going to be 2077
But for real, I'd rather have media silence until the game is close release than teasers into teasers into delayed release dates.
>ha ha memes :D
CDPR are part of an international global market, they pay international global wages or they lose their specialists and artists. Its simple.
Even though the game has technically been in development this whole time it was never a priority over the witches games so only now would there be actual progress in the development
Uh, didn't they (fairly) recently announce that the team assigned to 2077 for full steam ahead is bigger than that of Witcher 3?
They only took people from the Cyberpunk game to help on The Witcher 3 after the "downgrade scandal".
So I am sure they ended up delaying it a lot more than they had planned.
>Memes
There are no memes. EA or Activision would not be interested in paying the money it costs to move people out of Poland.
It costs $500 to move someone out of Poland, you dumb shit.
i dont care how long they need. CDPR is one of the few companies now that you can trust
