THE NINTH GENERATION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN
THE NINTH GENERATION HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN
this is just a marginally better Wii U
They are still using 7th gen ideas
NINTH GEN
Buy it now...
...or wait for the obvious revision in like 1 or 2 years?
Or be not poor and just get both?
It's just an overclocked wii u. Its going to be an orgasmic handheld but a stupid underpowered gimmick console.
Why get both? Remember the New 3DS?
It will have little to no support, just like the PS4 Pro will.
There are 2 smart options right now:
1) buy the console at launch or at least close to launch to take advantage of it now, or
2) wait for the revision to have a better battery life, faster (maybe) and one or two exclusives for the system.
It's about twice as strong Wiiu docked.
It's no Xbox but the fact that they got MK8 in 1080/60 shows it is a good deal stronger.
Still only half as strong as Xbox though, disappointing.
9th gen BABY!!!
>It's just an overclocked wii u.
Since when did overclocking change the processors architecture?
How do I overclock my i5 into a POWER9
Its fucking weird too, Switch ios starting Ninth gen, but it will have no ninth gen competition for a while. PS4 PRO is still 8th gen, and their sales right now are astronomical, which means Switch is competing with 8Th gen PS4, which is honestly not going to evolve until maybe 2019 or later.
We have one 9th gen console thats going to sit on its own for a solid year until someone decides to jump forward.
>one or two exclusives for the system.
The Switch already has more exclusives than the PS4
Project Scorpio is 9th gen too
This would make gforce 1060 something like 18th gen. Get your metric together
Lets test your theory. Because now I'm genuinely curious:
Switch:
1. Mario Odyssey
2. ARMS
3. Splatoon 2
4. Xenoblade Chronicles 2
5. 1/2 Switch
Vs.
Sony:
1. Bloodborne
2. Gravity Rush 2
3. Yakuza 0
4. Ace Combat 7
5. Danganronpa V3
6. Death Stranding
7. Final Fantasy VII Remake
8. God of War
9. Horizon Zero Dawn
10. Ni Non kuni II
11. Nioh
12. Uncharted 4
13. Trails of Cold Steel III
That is every major console exclusive for both system. Sorry to say but you're wrong. Don't pull the "But those aren't games" card either. Because they are, whether or not you like them, you must respect the competition for what it is.
I mean like the New 3DS can run Xenoblade Chronicles but the original 3DS can't.
>1/2 Switch
I'm still laffin
You do realize that generations are not determined by new hardware right? It depends on the competition. This is why the Atari 2600 and Atari 5200 are both 2nd gen consoles. They share the same competition even with the hardware gap. Switch is most definitely in the same situation since it still technically competes with the PS4 and Xbone.
Not baiting or trolling or nothing. It still has the same competition as the 8th gen Wii U, ergo, it is also an 8th gen console.
There is no scientific consensus on whst it means. Thus it is subject to uncontrollable bias.
Yes and no. You're right on many points, but the switch is the start of ninth gen, only that it wont have any 9th gen competition for a long while, since 8th gen Sony/Microsoft are still selling fairly well, and have no reason to drop a new console yet. When sony and microsoft or a new competitor make another console to compete, it will officially be ninth gen, Same way dreamcast was officially 6 when competing with N64 and PS1 for its short lifespan
It's made by the Wario Ware guy so it can't be that bad... right?
Why would you want something like that?
>Switch is a 9th gen console
>This means that it's two gens behind
Holy fuck that's a record even for Nintendo
This. Nintendo is jumpstarting 9th gen far too early, but they also have no choice because of the finanical sdisaster of the Wii-U. Its similar to how the saturn did poorly in america, and the dreamcast was going to be the end all disc based system, only to be trumped right out the door by the Gamecube, PS2, and then inevitably the Xbox, which stole its online gimmick right from under it.
The parallells are uncanny, does this mean Nintendo will go the way of Sega this gen when Sony and microsoft have enw consoles that blow the switch away?
It doesn't matter because it's definitely not gonna be good enough for 50 bucks.
The fuck are you on? Wii-U/PS4/Xbone is 8th gen, how is that behind?
>3 years in the market
>onlay has 3 games out
jesus christ. you guys STILL have to use lists of games that ARE GOING TO COME OUT for the ps4 instead of games that are OUT FOR the ps4
even xbone has more exclusives out
>Nintendo is jumpstarting 9th gen far too early
It's been five years
that for sure. It should be bundled with the console or maybe sold for like 20 bucks.
>Switch has 7th gen-tier graphics
>Switch is a 9th gen console
Do the math, little Billy
>implying its not the low end of the 8th 1/2 gen with the pro and the Scorpio
>Implying Xbone has games
>Implying Switch games aren't going to take forever to come out too
Videogames are dead user, get over it.
You do realize this is a fair comparison because the switch doesn't have anything out period right?
Don't start unescessary console warring. This is the cold hard facts, your statement is wrong, and before you go calling me something infantile as a sony shill, I'd do the exact same if Nintendo was in the opposing chair.
gravity rush 2, yakuza 0, nioh, nier automata and horizon will be out before switch release
It began with the pro, then switch and soon scorpion
Nier isnt exclusive.
According to Sup Forums, nintendo does not compete with xbox or ps. It doesnt compete with pc either. But honestly, other than pokemon, what the hell do they have that actually sells internationally? There is no metroid, zelda is probably not enough, and mario, dk and the rest is old and tired.
Jumping in to ask if the Switch will be region locked? Nintendo tends to go back and forth on whether to region lockor not.
The games listed for the switch will all (propably) come out in it's first year. His point was that sony had less than that in 3 years.
there's no PC release date, and it's not coming to Switch or Xbone
Will the 10th gen even exist after this flop?
(you)
April 12th 2017. It comes out 2 weeks after PS4. Howabout looking up the official site before spouting nonsense next time, might save face.
It'll be left up to the devs to decide
confirmed no locking at the very begining. if a game is locked, its the fault of the devs.
>The games listed for the switch will all (propably) come out in it's first year.
Baseless assumption. The only ones I believe that are Zelda/Mario and the shitty shovelwares like ARMS. 3rd party games will take more time.
It's kinda weird how the PS4 is always in a perpetual state of finally getting good games
9th generation of being a cuckhold maybe, but video gaming only really works as masterrace
And PC and PS4 have already won
link?
the official site i checked just says "early 2017"
>April 12th 2017. It comes out 2 weeks after PS4.
that's over a month later
>You can now play a 7th gen game on the go for about three hours of charge
HELL YEAH 9TH GEN BABY
Man, 8th gen was crap.
7th gen was too, desu.
It's almost like bitter assblasted Nintendo fanboys do change constantly their arbitrarily made up rules about "having games" because that's what they need to keep telling themselves in order to not eat their livers.
>Xenoblade
>first year
Well Meme'd
7th was bad and a step down from 6th gen. But 8th was pure crap.
you just have to download more battery
>No more heroes
>Nier
>Vesperia
>Super mario Galaxy
>Punch Out
>Xenoblade
>The entirety of the Nintendo DS
Eat a Dick
>No more heroes
Okay game, never cared much about Suda51 games.
>Nier
Meh.
>Vesperia
Tales games are fucking trash.
>Punch Out
Heh.
>Super mario Galaxy
>Xenoblade
Those are good I'll give you that.
>The entirety of the Nintendo DS
The DS was actually great and I forgot that it was 7th gen.
