Has there ever been a fall in gaming as glorious as his?

Fall? The dude raked in millions while doing as much work as eating a big mac

>its a le "DUDE HE MADE MILLIONS LMAO" Episode

heard the exact same excuse from NMS

Well he destroyed himself by revealing that he wasn't the one with the power to make a real Mega Man successor, no matter how much money he had. He did the worst thing someone could do to their career as a public figure: revealed that he was a businessman.
But no, no one has fallen as hard in the public eye. Not even Schaefer.

>The dude raked in millions

Here Sup Forums thinks that Inafune wrote himself a check for 4 million and then went home. First, after taxes and KS's share, the money was only 60% of what was pledged, so 2.4 million. 2.4 million is nothing, it was all spent on development. It's gone. And what did they get back? Probably next to nothing in terms of profit. Might have even costed them money in the end if they had to go over that 2.4 million dollar budget.

NMS at least sold. Who knows what the development actually was, but NMS sold a LOT so it likely made a huge profit. MN9 barely sold and most of those who cared about it were those who already donated to it (ie not new money).

Ahem.

To fall you have to rise first.

>It's MintyHalls' daily Inafune thread

I'm really dying to know just how much you chipped into MN9.

he had one mediocer game and then shit talked everyone.

What happened to Schaefer? Last I heard he was making a Psychonauts remake.

Nothing would have mattered if a good game had been delivered.

Nothing matters but that one was not.

Fez was the number one indie darling for a while and made a steady profit, even if he'd begun setting up his fall before release by opening his mouth.

to fall, you have to be on top of something first.

>this autism

seriously though Keiji went from "beloved capcom miyamoto" to "bobby kotick's greasy yellow taint"

I remember back when Mighty Number 9 was first announced, people were shitting themselves. It was just after he got canned from capcom and megaman legends 3 was cancelled. Everyone was treating him like some misunderstood genius that wasnt given a fair hand. Inafune made several appearances at conventions in the US and people were acting like there was legend around them.
Nowadays he has the same ire that Phil Fish has. Only difference being is that rather than being a cunt like Fish, he was just exposed as a total hack and a fraud.

Still is, and Headlander was pretty good.
He isn't really hated beyond a small pocket around these parts that were looking for the next tortanic in 3.3 or got burned on Spacebase.

>people believed in this man

He had a part in Soul Sacrifice Delta at least, I guess? That was pretty good

I will never forgive him for what he did to DMC. He cock blocked DMC4:Se. That would have been an easily 1 more million in sales. Then he cock blocked DMC5, insisting instead on a reboot with a new Western studio.

Think about it. We would have had an actual DMC5 right now instead of DmC. A game no one wanted.

>He had a part in Soul Sacrifice Delta at least, I guess? That was pretty good

>Comcept is just a place where they come up with ideas and sell them to publishers
I wish I could make money off being an ideas guy.

Sorry, NovaObscura :^)

Back to /emugen/ with you.

Fuck off with that disinfo, Inafune is one of the most important vidya devs ever.

>Fuck off with that disinfo, Inafune is one of the most important vidya devs ever.

Inafune created the Star Fox series. Capcom wasn't interested, so he gave his plans to Shiggy Miyamoto. Inafune is so humble he does not take credit. He's that great a guy.

>but NMS sold a LOT so it likely made a huge profit.
NMS got a ton of refunds on PC and allegedly the company had to sell their office and has a skeleton crew working on updates and doing damage control.

John Romeo

>NMS got a ton of refunds on PC

Here and there. Most normies don't even know about refunds.

Steamspy puts the PC version at 800,000, and remember most idiots paid full price at launch. And Steam listed it as one of its top earners in 2016, right beside GTAV.

> and allegedly the company had to sell their office

Total hoax.

Notice how he never says why that is.
