Nintendo has historically sold consoles for $250 or less targetting the budget demographic. Their first console to be $300, the Wii U, failed miserably. Even if I or you personally don't think it's too much, as in "I could buy that if I want it", it doesn't mean it's not too much for the average consumer. Hell, if it was something I truly wanted and it was $5k I'd buy it. It doesn't mean I think it would be successful at $5k.

Protip: Pascal is a longer pipeline lower IPC arch than Maxwell. Per clock one Maxwell SM has higher performance.
Tegra parker has the same ALU count as the X1, it just targets higher clocks.
The IGP in the Switch is sub 400mhz when in portable mode. Its weak. If it actually was Tegra Parker(its not) it would actually have lower performance since its not sustaining high clocks compared to the X1.

The Switch is a horrid shit tier Foxconn manufactured tablet powered by a left over shit heap Tegra X1 that Nvidia couldn't sell to anyone other than auto makers to use in infotainment systems.
