Nintendo Switch

So, what's the general opinion on here regarding the Nintendo Switch? I am frankly disappointed.

As a side note, what do you think about the fanboys blindly wanking it?

haven't bought a nintendo console since the wii, was considering getting a switch but fuck that

I know exactly what you mean.

It's going to have a very successful launch because of zelda. After that, it'll most likely lose hype and momentum and fail.

Zelda is also on the Wii, though.

Been a hardcore Nintendo fan since the NES. After they announced the Switch, I gave up on them. I went out and bought a PS4 Pro. It's pretty dope. Can't wait for God of War 4 and Last of Us 2.

>implying anyone without a Wii U even knows the Wii U exists
>implying I'm going to drop $50 more just for Zelda

Switch has a real 3D Mario, so my money's going to it

Software looks good

Hardware is hot garbage

>what do you think about the fanboys blindly wanking it?

As oppose to the fanboys blindly hating it?

>Blindly

Same
I really wanted to buy the switch but I feel disappointed. I guess I buy one when the price dropped and I can buy a used one for 200euros or so

Pretty much trash. Zelda looks okay, Mario looks sketchy... the rest is garbage, and the hardware is retarded.

Wii-U 2.0.

Can't wait for it to fail and Nintendo hopefully going 3rd party.

The number of wankers is always more. And they are always way too defensive for a normal fan of any other brand.

Gonna buy a new 3ds xl and hack it to play all the games I want on it and wait for Cemu to improve to play all the Wii u games I was interested in for free.

>>Blindly
[citation needed]

>blindly

You're so chock full of Miyamoto piss, semen and shit that you cant even see how much of a failure that conference was or how out of touch Nintendo still is.

Nintendo was better for low-tier console gaming anyways.

Paid online really puts me off. Games like Splatoon are fucking useless without it. Maybe if it's cheap enough.

>Haven't bought a nintendo console since the wii

Why can't you say "I didn't buy a Wii U" like a normal fucking person. You only skipped one (1) console.

>buying it now

Enjoy the ambassador program faggots

The only problems I have with the conference is paid online. That's basically it. The games shown all look fine, and there are some promising games coming out

>Things that definitely happened

>Imaginary scenario complex

Thanks for proving my point.

There's Zelda, Bomberman, 3D Mario, Sonic Mania, MK8 Deluxe and Spla2n, so I'm sold.

That Squeenix game also looked really cool, and Fire Emblem Warriors is going to be a nice time sink.

Despite owning a PS3 and 360 last gen I never bothered to buy Skyrim, so now I'll finally sink some time in to that, too

The hardware is pretty much exactly what I expected.

You forgot the 3ds and the 2ds

Haven't bought one since the N64.

I had low expectations for this shit, but the reveal was just terrible.

this

gonna wait for a price drop/revision

>Blind fanboys wanking it
>Look throughout the thread to see PS Schills trying to force the PS Pro meme.
>Fake Nintendo fans expressing disappointment
>Hypocrisy of V at its finest

Why is Sup Forums full of Schills that blindly wank to PlayStation and Xbone when you can game on PC and get great exclusives for the Switch. Also Switch is master race because they do not run on AMD cuck graphics.

General opinion is we all hate each other. No idea how the switch will do though.

>Didn't even fucking watched the conference
>Probably waited for screen caps on Sup Forums from sonyfanboys shiting on Nintendo in hate circle jerk threads

Get Skyrim on PC, much better and makes it significantly better with mods. Oldrim on console isn't really that good.

So it's a wii u with paid online

>sonyfanboys
You sound so underaged that all I can say is for you to stop posting and fuck off back to r/nintendo where you belong.

Those are handhelds, not consoles.

Also, just because /ctt/ draws the 3ds and 2ds as separate characters does not mean they're two separate systems

Well, I really posted this from a neutral perspective.
I don't want to promote any other alternatives, I am just disappointed.

The only thing that really bugs me is the paid online and the absolutely insulting costs of accessories.

Well on the positive side is you can still buy from the e shop store without paying for online and play games offline there is no DRM in it. Ironically PS4 does not even have the ability to do that. If you do not have PS plus you are fucked.

>this entire post

Please neck yourself, nintoddler

the Switch itself is fine. sure, it's underpowered, but if that's the price to pay to get all of Nintendo's franchises on one machine, that's fine.

I personally don't need the portability, or the joycons, or the motion control or touchscreen etc, but again, if this is the way for me to play MonHun/Layton/Mario/Zelda/Metroid on the tv, fine, sure, whatever.

the paid online is my biggest dissappointment. they offloaded chat to a smartphone app, why? why the fuck should I sit there and drain battery on two devices to play one device? then the "reward" is one-month rentals of 30 year old games.
Live justified it's cost by being far and away superior to any other console online service. Sony kinda justified it with the "extended rentals/free games", Nintendo is "me-too'ing" it while providing nothing they do.

I'll buy it, but I'll never buy a MP-exclusive game because I'm not going to pay for their online.

Zelda looks super-dope though, buying a Switch/Pro controller and will never even take the Joycon's out of the box.

xbox shills????? I rarely see one.

You serious? Fuck that sucks.

Now this is a well structured reply. THANK YOU.

>always more
this your first day on Sup Forums?

>After they announced the Switch, I gave up on them. I went out and bought a PS4 Pro. It's pretty dope. Can't wait for God of War 4 and Last of Us 2.

ironic shitposting is still shitposting

I think its cool but I'd like to see for sure if it gets all the traditionally handheld titles on it or not before grabbing it.Right now it could just be the Wii U 2.0.
Games I'm interested in:
>Zelda BOTW
>Xenoblade 2
>Shin Megami Tensei V
>Super Mario Odyssey

What did you expect then? I am only asking because you and others say you are disappointed but yet give no reasons for it.

To me the only small disappointment is paid online but because you can still buy from the store without having to pay and I have friends that are on Discord or Skype it does not matter.

I wasn't referring to Sup Forums, but the Internet in general.

Disappointed in paid online.
Excited about the console overall.

My last Nintendo console was the Gamecube. I'd owned every one of their home consoles until then.

When the Wii came out and it was just a modified GC with waggle, I was fucking pissed. I hated the entire notion of motion controls.

Then the Wii-U came out, and it was an underpowered piece of shit with a fisher-price tablet for a controller, and that's when Nintendo truly lost me.

The Switch is coming around to be exactly like I thought it would. A hot fucking mess that will go the way of the Wii-U.

I miss playing Nintendo 1st party games, but with any luck, in a few years, they'll be on PC or PS4 anyway.

oh well yeah ok thats different then

>Lol I'm so edgy neck yourself hahahaha >:C

No you Edgelord.

I have multiple issues with it.
>Paid online
This, while I kind of expected it, is still a pain.
>Game lineup
I like the look of Mario and Zelda. Not enough to buy a Switch though, as most everything else displayed at the recent presentation really didn't do much for me.
>Price
$470 worth of pieces of paper with kangaroos on them is too much. The controllers are also very expensive.
>Capabilities
Reportedly it can handle PS3 and Xbox 360 ports. Being so much weaker than the PS4 and XBO may very well result in the same problem the Wii U had, with a lackluster third party support.

Things I do like:
>USB-C
It can be charged on a plane or wherever a USB port is available, which is very convenient.
>Battery life
Many people would put this as a minus, but minimum 3 hours isn't as bad as I thought. If I could squeeze 5 hours out of the average game, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
>Build
It looks comfortable to hold and use. The right Joycon's analog will take some getting used to, but I don't think it'll be too bad. It has some pretty advanced technologies in it. The new rumble is interesting.

Some of the large factors that make a console good haven't been shown on the Switch. I hope this E3 can bolster it's lineup in particular. I will most likely not be getting one on launch day.

Won't be buying one anytime near launch. I'll wait for games like DQXI, SMT, and the likes to be out/on the horizon first.

This isnt plebbit newfriend. Please fuck off.

True mostly Sony schills.

Well, I didn't post this to express my opinion, but see the ones of others, but yeah, it is basically what most of the others is saying. Paid online, bad starting lineup, disappointing announcement and unsure hardware.

>emoticons

Please neck yourself, nintoddler.

what I dont understand is if nintendo cant make consoles that showcase good graphics for their own games then what makes you think they'll make games with good graphics for other consoles if they go third party
nothing will change but the platform

Well everything runs through PlayStation+ even to access the internet. You can play offline games but not buy from the store.

>negative
paid online
prices for accessories
BATTERY LIFE

>positive
Great for people lacking screens
Zelda, Splatoon, Mario Odyssey all look good

Also, it needs more games, which hopefully will be fixed over time.

>Switch has a real 3D Mario
Not until at least the end of 2017, and it will probably get delayed.

OP, I got really excited for the Switch after only having Sony consoles my whole life, and I was really let down by everything they showed. I'll probably just get one a year and a half after it comes out, like with the PS4. I don't think the price will drop dramatically but at least there will be more than the like 5 games they have planned for it that are releasing this year.

>The games shown all look fine
This is a $50 launch title.

I'm just shocked the only "system seller" it launches with is Zelda.
I figured at launch they'd also have a Pokemon or MonHun. if they don't make a splash with units sold immediately, 3rd parties will walk away. Zelda will move the needle, but why not cover your bases by appealing to another segment of gamers?

>So, what's the general opinion on here regarding the Nintendo Switch?
Nintendo is pretty much telling you loud and clear to "switch" to another console or PC

I would guess poor planning.

Not going to come to PC nor PS4, they don't need to cater to that group.

I thought that was the pack-in?

this. It's such a shame that nintendo fans are so easily exploited which lead to this

Well, I already have a PC. I usually emulate Nintendo titles, but I was genuinely excited and wanted to buyou the Switch.

It's not, it's only $20

Megaten V seems not exclusive.

Literally the only game I want.

They will have 3rd party support because Nvidia card does support Unreal Engine and also Unity that is what fucked them before. Last time was the fact they had a bad graphics card that was woefully underpowered and also the porting process was horrible.

You should not worry much about it being a bit weaker than PS4 it was expected to be like that. But the support needs to be there for devs to easily port there games from Unreal or Unity and now that it exists they can easily scale down the game and make it an easy port. Maybe easier than the AMD graphics card Sony has.

Same.

I wish I'd made the decision to just stop after the Wii.

The last Nintendo console I owned was the 3DS XL. $200 for underwhelming hardware and access to titles I honestly lost interest in after maybe a couple of hours of playtime. The shit screen resolution, region-locking and the fact that Nintendo ended up censoring titles (like Fire Emblem) or outright butchering them was enough to convince me to jump ship and sell the damn thing. For the past five or so years Nintendo has grown increasingly more unfriendly to the average consumer and I just can't justify throwing anymore money at them.

Mostly negative. Nintendo fanboys are hyped because they showed a couple of Nintendo IPs.

Personally I think it's shit but am still going to get it because it's gonna be the Vita 2.0.

>Spla2n isn't a launch title

JUST

>Battery life

To be fair you can use a power bank USB and buy one for like 20$ to 30$ and add 4 more hours on top of the Switch. It's basically a gaming tablet.

I'd buy a switch to turn you off so you can't promote disgusting business practices like pay to play online

It's a Wii u that literally disassembles itself in an attempt to scatter it's peices across the universe in order mask it's shame. Only the most autistic heroes will have sny hope of reassembling it again.

I'll buy it to play Nintendo games like I have every Nintendo console for the last 20 years. I don't care about 3rd party on it I have other systems for that, I just want Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, and Xenoblade 2. I don't really care if the console is successful or not either, they have shown me 4 games I really want and that's enough to buy a system for me.

What's with Nintendo and gimmicky bullshit?

Of all games announced, I would only download 2 when they'd be the free PS+ game of the month

That says it all

It's not 50 though. It's in the system for EB games in Canada for 25

I like Nintendo and I agree with 3DS. But it the thing is there might not be any new handhelds from Nintendo because from what I have read in Japanese news sites is Nintendo merged the console and handheld division and the Switch is basically a hybrid for both which makes sense.

I will tell you right now. It's 720p by 1280 resolution LCD screen. And I am so glad that finally they are using HD.

>You have to mod the game to make it good
That's a sign or a horrible and bad game.

What games?

Despite not being able to make decent hardware anymore, they certainly can squeeze the potential out of them for their 1st party games. There's no reason at all to think they can't develop a game with high visual fidelity, despite their reluctance to make hardware to facilitate it.

They need to cater to their stockholders. If this hardware fails, you can guarantee there will be VERY hard push from their investors to either go 3rd party, go strictly mobile, or both.

It has no pack-in.
It's 50 fucking dollars on Nintendo's official Switch page, sold separately.

Just shut your useless mouth and wipe the diarrhoea from your lips. Nintendo is king in Japan aaf

As a Wii U owner I'm vastly disappointed. Yea Nintendo, I can't wait to spend $60 to finally play Mario Kart 8 with a decent battle mode. Oh and add another $210 for controllers because my Wii U Pro controller won't work for it.

Sony had crossbuy and they really should have something similar for people who already bought Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U. Oh and games you know. 1,2 Switch would have been a good pack in, Bomberman looks like it's worth about $10, and Mario will probably get delayed. This has got to be one of Nintendo's biggest blunders ever. I never thought I'd say this but I'm ready for them to go third party.

They did mention there might be discounts on there store included with the service. Maybe a few free games a month would do well.

>Bayonetta 2
>Tropical Freeze

>Disappointed

Wii U was worse it did not have any games on release not even thier first parties or much third parties it was bad. To say there will not be much games going to the switch is false. Some games that are even on PS4 are moving to Switch. Even Disgaea 5 was announced on there.

It will not be until E3 until you will see how much games from PC will make the hugest move to Switch ever. It's easy to port to than Wii U was.

MK8D and SM:O

>consolewar faggot doesn't realize the irony of calling someone underaged
Not who you were replying to btw

I'm disappointed that the Switch doesn't really offer a lot to people who already own the Wii U at the moment. I'd love a decent battle mode for Mario Kart 8 but I'm not spending a fuckton of extra money when I already own Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. They needed some sort of cheap upgrade option for people who already bought MK8 on Wii U. Sony at least got that right.

>having friends
>playing with other people

Where do you think you are right now?

My friend who buys everything at launch got a Wii U and we had a lot of fun playing Mario U and Sonic Racing with 5 players and Zombi U was fun too. This time it's like, "Hey want to play a slightly different version of the Zelda game you already own on Wii U?

Yes....somehow the fucking Wii U launch was better than the Switch. I can't believe I said that.
